About the Role

This role provides the opportunity to work across a broad range of projects from powerful interviews with veterans to dynamic campaign content and behind-the-scenes glimpses of our work—you’ll lead the way in bringing our mission to life through film.

As Senior Videographer, you’ll also supervise a videographer in the team—offering guidance and creative leadership to help us deliver high-quality, content across all our channels.

You will be responsible for the development, production, and post-production of all the Charity’s video content.

You will be creating both internal and external-facing video to support marketing, communications and wider charity goals. As part of the content team, you will be consulting with internal clients offering creative guidance and managing projects from conception to filming through to final edit. You will also be expected to collaborate at times with external creative resource.

This small and dynamic team is part of the wider Marketing and Communications team who work collaboratively, supporting each other on a variety of exciting projects.

About the role

We have an exciting opportunity to join our ambitious Public Fundraising team in London to manage the staff and programmes for individual/regular giving campaigns, community fundraising, supporter engagement and trading of Christmas cards. The Individual Giving Manager will be responsible for the delivery of Help Musicians’ and Music Minds Matter’s public fundraising operational plans. The successful candidate will oversee four direct line-reports and their work plans relating to the management of these public fundraising streams to achieve growth of the charity’s donor base and charitable income.

This role develops and delivers a set of operational plans within the charity’s public fundraising programme, supporting and empowering their line reports to implement supporter development and acquisition campaigns, in memory giving initiatives, community fundraising projects and trading products. This role leads on the overall successful management of these work plans by managing, supporting and mentoring a team of fundraiser specialists to ensure an integrated approach to campaigns and a joined-up supporter experience.

This role will also work in collaboration with the Head of Individual Giving, team members and other colleagues in Help Musicians to scope, launch and lead on the implementation of a new charity CRM, and new fundraising initiatives to help grow our supporter-base e.g., Friends Scheme, community fundraising products, digital fundraising campaigns, improved supporter journeys etc.

About you

We are looking for someone who has demonstrable experience of leading and managing line-reports and operational plans within individual giving and wider public fundraising areas (e.g., community fundraising, trading), to achieve set income and supporter number goals. The successful candidate will have good experience of effective line-management and of managing fundraising teams and delivering work plans through people which includes setting objectives, coaching, developing, and managing effective performance.

This role oversees a number of income-generating programmes and therefore the candidate needs to show the ability to manage a wide range of projects at any one time and to work collaboratively with other teams to deliver successful outcomes. Excellent planning and organisational skills are needed to manage workloads effectively.

The successful candidate will have experience of taking an audience-led approach to delivering mass-fundraising campaigns, to help enhance digital and direct mail appeals to retain and acquire supporters, create effective supporter and stewardship journeys, and to develop new initiatives within the community fundraising income stream to grow new audiences.

To be successful in this role, you'll ideally have at least 5 years’ experience working in a similar communications role, with at least three of those managing and developing multiple marcoms campaign delivery. You’ll be experienced in delivering and coordinating income generation campaigns, CRM data management, website and digital development, as well as monitoring and reporting on digital performance.

Main Purpose of the Post

To lead the strategic planning, development, and delivery of Learning through Landscapes’ (LtL) communications and marketing activities. This role will ensure effective communication with key audiences, grow engagement, and strengthen the LtL brand, positioning the organisation as the leading voice in outdoor learning and play. The Strategic Communications Lead will oversee all communications activities, manage a growing team including the Digital Marketing & Operations Manager, and ensure alignment with organisational goals and the communications strategy.

Specific Duties

Strategic Leadership

• Lead the development and implementation of the LtL communications strategy in line with organisational objectives.

• Align communication efforts with the key goals of growing audience engagement, generating leads, and enhancing the charity’s visibility and credibility.

• Act as a brand guardian, ensuring all communications adhere to LtL’s brand guidelines and key messaging.

Team Management

• Line-manage the growing Communications team, including the Digital Marketing & Operations Manager, providing guidance, support, and oversight of their responsibilities, including social media, website, and email marketing activities.

• Foster a culture of collaboration and innovation within the communications team, and work closely with other departments to align communications with organisational priorities.

• Provide regular performance reviews and professional development opportunities for direct reports.

Campaigns and Content Development

• Plan and oversee the creation of compelling and engaging content for digital and traditional media platforms, ensuring alignment with key messaging.

• Work with the Digital Marketing & Operations Manager to deliver multichannel marketing campaigns, including organic and paid campaigns across platforms such as social media, Google Ads, and email.

• Lead on the development of innovative approaches to audience engagement, including storytelling, case studies, and evidence-led communications.

• Lead the delivery of the Outdoor Classroom Day campaign, including coordinating media interest, collaborating with global NGOs and internal teams on campaign themes, and managing data collection, evaluation, and related communications.

External and Internal Communications

• Serve as the first point of media contact for LtL, building relationships with journalists, influencers, and partners to amplify LtL’s reach.

• Advise and support internal teams on communication best practices, integrating communications planning into the early stages of project development.

• Collaborate with partner organisations to deliver cohesive and impactful communications plans for joint projects.

• Strengthen internal communication processes to ensure organisational cohesion and awareness of communications initiatives.

Monitoring and Evaluation

• Improve systems for measuring and reporting communications impact, including audience engagement, conversion rates, and campaign effectiveness.

• Provide regular reports to senior management, using data to demonstrate progress and inform future strategies.

• Conduct ongoing analysis of audience behaviours and preferences to refine communication efforts.

General Responsibilities

• Stay informed on trends in digital marketing, communications, and education to keep LtL’s approaches current and impactful.

• Support organisational goals by contributing to cross-functional projects and initiatives.

• Ensure all communications comply with GDPR and safeguarding policies.

• Represent LtL at relevant external events and networks as needed.

What you’ll need:

• Experience of leading communications or marketing at a strategic level, preferably in the charitable or education sectors

• Proven ability to develop and implement multi-channel communications strategies that grow engagement and support organisational goals

• Experience of managing staff, fostering collaboration, and supporting professional development within a communications team

• Strong track record in campaign planning and delivery, including digital marketing, content creation, and media engagement

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail and storytelling

• Computer literate with experience using digital marketing tools and platforms such as email marketing systems, social media scheduling tools, and content management systems

• Strong understanding of branding and the importance of consistent messaging

Job purpose

This role sits in our Direct fundraising Team within the Individual Giving department. The key purpose of the job is to:

•  Support the Associate Head and Senior Fundraisers to continue to grow and develop face-to-face direct recruitment and telephone fundraising activity at the NSPCC.
• To work with Senior Fundraisers and Associate Head within the Direct fundraising team to deliver agreed campaigns in line with business requirements.
• Advocate and reinforce the team’s ethics and values across compliance, safeguarding, supporter experience and best practice fundraising.
• Enhance the supporter experience and protect the NSPCC’s reputation when working with professional fundraising agencies.
• Through mystery shopping, call listening and other activities, ensure all activity, by agency partners and relevant internal teams, is compliant with regulation, codes of practice and NSPCC policies.
• Monitor campaign performance and income, ensuring that campaign KPIs and metrics are reported accurately and consistently.
• Monitor expenditure, including financial processes such as raising POs, checking invoices and reporting against budgeted expenditure figures.
• Work with data, including checking data selections for telephone activity.
• Work effectively with other departments within Individual Giving, Communications and Fundraising Directorates and other functions within the NSPCC to maximise income for children. Also working with external agencies to deliver large scale campaigns.

Main duties and responsibilities

1. With the Associate Head of Direct Fundraising, agree and deliver face-to-face and telephone  direct fundraising activities in line with the Individual Supporters department’s annual business plan and budget to enable the NSPCC to plan its activity and services.
2. Work with the Associate Head to maximise the opportunities by which the fundraising activity can contribute to the NSPCC’s mission of fighting for every childhood over and above fundraising objectives.
3. Be responsible for the development of relationships and delivery of income from potential supporters engaged through face-to-face activity
4. Work with internal NSPCC support teams to set up new agencies and campaigns.
5. Keep up to date on best practice and developments within the charity sector generally and particularly changes to fundraising regulations, compliance and codes of practice relating to direct dialogue fundraising. Updating existing or creating new processes and working with agencies to implement changes in activity.
6. Work with internal compliance teams and external agencies to plan and implement a monitoring schedule in line with the most up to date codes of practice, guidance and regulations.  This should include regular mystery shopping and call listening.
7. To work with the Associate Head to maximise the opportunities by which the fundraising activity of the Direct Fundraising team can contribute to the NSPCC’s mission of ending cruelty to children over and above fundraising objectives.
8. To carry out research through a range of sources, including the Internet, Intranet, publications and other external contacts, including other charities, in order to obtain relevant information that can contribute to the fundraising activities of the Direct fundraising team.

Work Location/Hybrid Working Pattern

Tuesdays are our anchor days where every staff member is expected to be at the office. The 90 days includes anchor Tuesdays.
