About the Role

Reporting to the Head of Campaigns, and working closely with your fellow Campaigns Managers and the wider campaigns team and legal teams, we are looking for someone to design, develop and run impactful and engaging legal campaigns at Good Law Project. 

This is an ideal opportunity for an individual with a passion for the work of Good Law Project who wants to use their campaigning background to help increase our impact, our income and our supporter growth and engagement throughout our legal campaigns. We have ambitious goals and are looking for somebody who brings determination, and the ability to design and deliver legal campaigns in a dynamic and fast paced environment. The role will require enthusiasm, flexibility and the ability to think creatively and strategically.

In July 2023, we forced the Government to accept that its flagship Net Zero strategy is unlawful and to develop a better plan.

Marketing and Communications Officer

We are recruiting a Marketing and Communications Officer to champion and manage the PAPYRUS brand and support the delivery of our projects and services through data-driven campaigns, across email, organic social, and paid digital marketing channels.

What you will do:

As our Head of Brand and Health Engagement, you’ll be responsible for managing a team to produce sector-leading, highly effective, marketing campaigns and customer journeys, inspiring more people to engage with and support the British Heart Foundation (BHF) and its lifesaving work.

Every penny counts so each piece of activity needs to achieve demonstrable results, driving active support and engagement with the BHF aligned with our brand & marketing strategies. You’ll champion effectiveness within your own team and take a lead role in the development of integrated marketing communications.

Working with peers, this role will ensure the integration of activity across all the BHF’s marketing communications and challenge agencies and in-house teams to develop the most effective approach. 

Crucial to making sure activity is effective and delivers against targets will be the successful leadership of the Brand and Health Engagement team – a team which will need to work at pace and with clear direction. 

As part of the BHF leadership team you will identify, recommend, and implement continuous improvements in ways of working.
 
Working arrangements
 
This is a 12-month fixed term contract, covering an internal secondment.

This is a blended role, where your work will be dual located between your home and our London Office. 
 
At the BHF we believe in the power of being together, so our colleagues on blended contracts can expect to spend some time in their office, at least two days each week, on average.  The use of our office spaces is driven in part by your role and the activities you need to do. This may vary from time to time, so you will need to work in a flexible way to unlock your best work for our cause. 
 
In addition, the role involves regular attendance at the offices of our London-based agency partners.

About you
 
As our perfect candidate, you bring significant marketing communications experience including briefing creative and media agencies for the development/delivery of multi-channel through the line campaigns (TV, digital, print, and social content) and end to end customer journey planning (online and offline).

Your knowledge and expertise will span brand strategy, agency, and campaign management. The British Society for Immunology is an influential and authoritative voice for immunology, a key scientific and health field that plays a central role in many of the most pressing global health challenges we face, including research into the COVID-19 pandemic, developing new treatments and vaccines against disease, and supporting ageing populations to experience healthier lives for longer. This role is split equally between supporting activities of the BSI and those of our publishing portfolio. On the BSI side, you will be responsible for developing and delivering our marketing and communications activity through a variety of channels. Activities can include promoting our membership offering to immunologists working in academia, industry and the clinical sector, promoting key activities such as our events or training offerings, and supporting initiatives to raise the importance and influence of immunology. On publishing, you will be responsible for developing and delivering impactful marketing activities to increase submissions and readership of our official journals, Clinical & Experimental Immunology, Immunotherapy Advances and Discovery Immunology, in particular building the reputation of our newer Open Access journals
