About the role

The Centre for Ageing Better launched the first ever campaign focusing on ageism in January 2024.

Ageism is the most widespread form of discrimination in the UK. And it will impact us all at some point, particularly as we get older. Ageism affects how society sees older people: they’re often reduced to offensive stereotypes, patronised, or treated as a burden. And it even affects how we see ourselves. As the years progress, we start to believe what we read, see and hear, and come to think that we’re ‘past it’.

The Head of Ageism Campaign plays a key role in a small team responsible for planning and delivering a nationwide public-facing campaign to bring an end to ageism in England. The public-facing campaign is one strand of a wider ‘age-friendly’ social movement aimed to make people think, feel and act differently about ageing, which will work on a number of levels and with a range of different audiences.

The postholder will jointly manage a creative agency to deliver the final year of our mass marketing campaign, ‘always on’ activity, and a moment of collective action for our warm audiences and ambassadors for the campaign.

As well as delivering year three of our campaign, this role will have a focus on analysing and understanding the impact of the campaign on public attitudes and behaviour change and communicating findings to key internal and external audiences. A key part of the campaign strategy has been to understand the efficacy of public-facing campaigns in changing attitudes to ageing older people - something that is missing from the global evidence base. The role will work closely with our evaluation partners to produce analysis and insights in different formats, as required, and present them to internal and external stakeholders.

About you

You are a passionate and committed campaigner, determined to create societal change.

You will have excellent experience in campaigning techniques and communications, with first class writing skills. You will understand how to influence the public and move people along a behaviour/attitude change journey and experience of managing large-scale behaviour change campaigns, reporting to senior internal and external stakeholders.

You will be comfortable working across the full marcomms mix and using different channels and platforms to reach audiences.

You will have great project management skills and will love keeping a project on track.

Fundraising from Trusts and Foundations

The Head of Member Experience is a high-profile leadership role at the College, responsible for shaping and delivering an innovative and inclusive membership experience for over 25,000 paediatricians and child health professionals globally. You will lead on membership strategy, operations, engagement, and benefits development; ensuring that our members receive real value and meaningful support throughout their careers.

As Head of Member Experience, you will oversee the development and delivery of a compelling member benefits offer, using data, insights and member feedback to enhance satisfaction, retention and income (currently over £7.5 million). You don’t need years of experience in fundraising, we’re more interested in your drive, creativity, and willingness to learn. You’ll get all the training and support you need to succeed and grow in this role.

You might have experience in fundraising, marketing, sales, or customer service. You’ll be organised, proactive, and a great communicator. Comfortable juggling projects, you’ll also be confident using Excel and keen to develop your analytical skills. An interest in fundraising is essential, and previous experience with direct marketing would be desirable.

In this varied and exciting role, you’ll help deliver fundraising campaigns that inspire and retain our amazing supporters. You’ll be involved in planning and running direct marketing campaigns using a range of channels. Including our established raffle programme and a calendar of supporter engagement and retention activity. You’ll also help to analyse results, test new ideas, and find ways to improve future campaigns.

You’ll speak to supporters regularly, ensuring they receive great supporter stewardship. And you’ll work closely with teams across the MS Society, including Supporter Care, Brand, Digital and Data and with external suppliers like creative agencies and print partners. This is a collaborative role where your ideas and input will be valued.

This role will be involved in the development of training covering subjects such as:

• Work with course designers to develop new, and maintain existing, elearning and media content.

• Ensure learning meets development guidelines, and is accessible, functional and engaging.
• Integrate learning content to create courses on our learning management system (Moodle).
• Test learning content, including using screen readers and other accessibility software.
• Help to maintain the guidelines for course development.
• Support the day-to-day administration of the Sea Cadets learning management environment
• Cultivate strong working relationships across multiple teams (internal and external)
• Stay up to date with latest system upgrades and advise on their potential impact on existing or new courses

Requirements

• eLearning development experience ( e.g. tools such as Articulate Storyline and Rise, or similar)
• Experience in media creation for graphics, sound and video editing.
• Good MS Office skills

• Experience using Teams and SharePoint
• Knowledge of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG)
• LMS Administration experience (our platform is based on Moodle, Mahara and Alfresco but other LMS skills will be transferable)

PR Manager
Home based, remote working

As one of two PR Managers, you'll be the key point of contact for all PR communications, helping to develop and execute forward-thinking PR plans and strategies. Responsible for implementing and managing a proactive PR activity schedule, you’ll craft compelling content to entice journalists and the media to support our work. Responding reactively to requests the charity receives.

Championing best practices in PR, you’ll drive effective, integrated campaigns across the UK, ensuring a cohesive approach to both traditional and digital media.

Diving into projects such as Deaf Awareness Week, our ‘It does matter’, access to Ear Wax removal services and major healthcare campaigns, you’ll raise awareness of the barriers facing the 18m people who are deaf, have hearing loss or tinnitus, getting these issues on the national agenda, starting conversations around hearing health.

You'll also be celebrating inclusion, working the UK's biggest TV shows, and campaigning for equal access to healthcare.

You will be responsible for:

• Coordinating our PR content calendar, creating and curating inspiring and shareable materials that resonate with our target audiences,reporting on performance against KPIs and making recommendations for continuous improvement.

• Managing media and stakeholder relationships, ensuring timely, engaging, and brand-appropriate responses to queries and feedback.

• Acting as the first point of contact for reactive media inquiries, providing prompt and effective responses to manage and shape media coverage.

• Overseeing PR project management for campaigns, collaborating with colleagues across the MarComms team.

• Championing PR best practices. Advising and assisting teams, applying insights from performance analysis to ensure all PR content is designed to maximise reach, engagement, and impact.

• Conducting media monitoring and PR analysis to identify trends and reputational issues.

• Tracking the success of PR initiatives, providing feedback to project teams on effective strategies and areas for improvement.

• Working with our Stories and Celebrity Managers to identify and engage new case studies and high-profile individuals, and deliver impactful stories or celebrity-led campaigns.

• Share success and media coverage across RNID, working with the Internal comms team to celebrate and show the value of PR and involve the whole organisation in our work

• Supporting spokespeople from across RNID, case studies, celebrities and influencers with high profile media interviews including developing media briefings and key messages and providing feedback

• Play a key role in the PR & Comms team, ensuring that PR, social media, celebrity and storytelling works together to deliver maximum impact

The Combined Cadet Force Association (CCFA) is a charity dedicated to the promotion of the ideals and activities of the Combined Cadet Force in schools. This is an ongoing, part-time contract supporting the financial operations of a small, ambitious arts organisation working at the intersection of art, technology and digital culture.

We are looking for someone with a strong understanding of charity finance, skilled in Xero, bookkeeping, payroll, reporting, audit preparation, HMRC filings and support with funding reports. You may be an individual already set up for freelance work, or a firm used to providing finance support to charities or arts organisations. You’ll work closely with the Chief Executive and liaise with trustees and external auditors as needed.
