Required:

The Membership Marketing Manager leads the growth and engagement of the organisation’s Zoo membership base, developing and delivering strategies that drive acquisition, retention, and long-term value. Working collaboratively across teams, the role ensures seamless, insight-led journeys that convert visitors into loyal members and supporters, underpinned by effective CRM communications and data-driven campaign delivery to maximise income and lifetime value.

This is a 12-month maternity cover role with the emphasis on the membership management elements. The position offers hybrid working, with at least one day per week spent in the office to connect with the team (Tuesdays).

Key responsibilities:

• Strategy and growth: Lead the development and delivery of a data-driven membership marketing strategy to grow acquisition, retention, and member value across all channels.
• Collaboration and partnerships: Build strong cross-team and supplier partnerships to enhance supporter experiences, operational efficiency, and member value.
• Performance and insights: Monitor and report on membership performance, providing insights and leadership to drive continuous improvement and team success.
• Fundraising alignment: Collaborate with Fundraising to nurture member-to-donor pathways through targeted segmentation and coordinated communications.
• CRM and retention: Drive personalised, insight-led CRM and retention strategies that deepen engagement and foster long-term supporter loyalty.
• Digital and systems optimisation: Partner with digital and operational teams to optimise online journeys, systems, and data structures for seamless supporter experiences and retention growth.

About You

• Successfully managed a membership scheme, running both acquisition campaigns and retention programmes.
• Proven experience of developing and implementing marketing campaigns across of variety of media.
• Knowledge of ticketing/CRM platforms (e.g. Spektrix, Tessitura, or Salesforce).
• Confident using performance and customer data to develop actionable marketing plans.
• Familiar with customer databases and developing membership customer journeys.
• Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrable experience of sourcing, managing, negotiating and liaising with suppliers.

About this key role

You will take the lead on applications and relationship management of Trusts and Foundations, working with the Trusts and Foundations Officer and Head of Voluntary Fundraising to raise £2m from Trusts and Foundations each year, plus manage campaigns and events to raise £200,000 across Appeals, Individual Giving, and Legacy per year.  You will be expected to manage a Fundraising Assistant to support them with administration tasks for the team, while also managing and refining processes for recordkeeping, a multitude of fundraising systems, through which we receive funds, and work closely with the Finance team to set and review annual budgets.

We will also count on you to develop and design high-quality applications, presentations, and pitches to secure five-, six- and seven-figure funding opportunities from Trusts and Foundations, provide excellent stewardship to existing donors and to manage the development and implementation of our Individual Giving and Legacy Strategy, providing regular data analysis & reporting on our progress.  Growing our Individual Giving and Legacy income stream through single and regular giving appeals is also a key aspect of this role.

What we are looking for

• Two years’ experience working in a charity fundraising environment
•  Proven track record of winning and/or managing five-figure grants
• Experience devising, planning and implementing fundraising appeals
• A good understanding of fundraising best practice and regulations, including Fundraising Regulator guidelines, GDPR and data protection
• Excellent relationship-building skills with the ability to engage external stakeholders
• Impressive communication skills, written and verbal, with the ability to write compelling and informative copy that are tailored to different audiences

The SLA supports approximately 2000 members with advice, training and advocacy across the UK. The Training and Events Manager will form an essential part of the SLA team working to run a high quality, inspiring and engaging events and training to help us deliver on our mission to support members, so that more children and young people reach their full potential through the school library. You will lead on the organisation of our annual conference; develop and maintain a calendar of events and training for members and non-member audiences; and support the team with all event related administration and logistics.  Events at the SLA include member meet ups (in person and online), events in our branch network across 23 regions, professional development and training, and our SLA Awards ceremonies.

Your work will be at the forefront of our member offer, helping to build links with membership, support members, build relationships with key stakeholders and sponsors, delivering high-quality training and impactful events offer across the year. An agile and flexible thinker, you will be creative, with a flair for spotting opportunities for professional development, and have a keen eye for detail with an ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines. Using your project management experience, you will work with the CEO, SLA team colleagues and subject matter experts and facilitators to develop and deliver a high quality and competitive calendar of events and training.

The Role

We’re looking for a proactive, practical and people-focused House Assistant to help keep Future Dreams House running smoothly day to day.

This role is a mix of front-of-house, operations, and sustainability. You’ll be making sure the building looks and feels like a 5* space, greeting and supporting visitors, coordinating volunteers, and helping us embed eco-conscious practices across everything we do.

You’ll work closely with the House Manager and wider team to ensure every visitor feels safe, welcome, and cared for – from the moment they step through the door.

Key Responsibilities

House Operations & Maintenance

• Open and close the House and carry out daily checks for security, safety, and presentation.
• Keep all spaces – including communal areas, toilets, kitchens and therapy rooms – tidy, clean and well-stocked.
• Regular trips to the supermarket and post office.
• Run errands (e.g. flowers, supplies), manage waste and recycling, and support laundry of towels and linens.
• Set up rooms for workshops and events (furniture, AV equipment, yoga mats, refreshments).
• Support minor maintenance tasks and contractor visits as needed.

Front of House & Visitor Support

• Provide a warm welcome to everyone arriving at Future Dreams House.
• Help visitors sign in, complete forms and find where they need to go.
• Offer refreshments, give House tours and help maintain a calm, supportive environment.
• Answer phone and email enquiries with empathy and efficiency.
• Support with bookings and keep systems and calendars accurate.

Administration & Communications

• Manage the main info@ inbox, responding promptly and professionally.
• Keep room and workshop booking calendars up to date.
• Handle incoming and outgoing post, including packaging, labelling, post office runs and box recycling.
• Respond to information requests and send out materials such as leaflets and visitor information.

Volunteer Support

Sustainability

• Act as the sustainability champion for Future Dreams House.

• Help shape and track progress against our sustainability goals.

Health & Safety

• Act as a First Aider and Fire Marshal (full training provided).
• Support fire safety checks, drills and wider health & safety procedures.
• Help during evacuations and report any incidents or hazards promptly.

Organisational Support

• Work collaboratively with colleagues across programmes, fundraising, and operations.
• Support internal and external events as needed.
• Carry out any other reasonable duties in line with the role.
