Who we are
The problem - On average, 160 young people are excluded from school each week. Once excluded, prospects for these young people are bleak, with only 4% achieving good GCSE grades, and 67% entering sustained education, employment or training compared to 96% of their non-excluded peers. This can be a pipeline to prison, with concerning statistics showing 63% of prisoners having been excluded from school.
Our mission - To ensure that young people who have been excluded from school are not excluded from society.
Who we serve - We support the hardest to reach young people in the most disadvantaged communities, each of whom are most at risk of experiencing school exclusion or are at risk of being excluded. Young people who are eligible for free school meals are 4x more likely to get excluded, along with black Caribbean boys. Young people with special educational needs are also six times as likely to be excluded as their peers.
Our work - We work in a number of different settings both during term time and after school. Our coaches lead small groups of 8-10 young people, using sport as a hook and mentorship as an anchor to develop their soft skills, as well as improve their physical & mental wellbeing. This, coupled with exposure to the work place through Career Taster Days, raises their aspirations and puts young people in a better position to enter sustained education, employment or training (EET) when they leave school.

We are looking for someone to carry out maternity cover for our Programme Manager (Midlands & North). The Programme Manager role purpose is to lead on all aspects of service delivery within the Midlands & North area, which currently covers the following hubs: Birmingham, Solihull, Leicester, Northumberland, Tyne & Wear, County Durham, Liverpool, Warrington & Oldham. This is a 10 month fixed term role with the opportunity to extend employment at the end of the contract.
This includes accountability for the delivery of our in person services, digital delivery (Player Profiles), impact, employability, regional fundraising, regional partnerships, business development and people across all regions in the Midlands & North. You will directly line manage at least 3 people but be responsible for a wider team of circa 15 people.
This is a varied and hands on role that will be full of purpose. You’ll be joining a supportive and driven team that works hard to help young people change their lives. As a manager you will play a key part in the leadership of the organisation and driving the implementation of strategic plans on the ground.
It is important to us that this role remains embedded within the delivery of our interventions, therefore the post holder will be required to spend up to 25% delivering our programmes or working alongside staff for quality assurance.

About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to work with Sustrans as part of the UK-wide Volunteering Team, where you will play a critical role to lead on delivering strategic priority projects.
As the Volunteering Strategic Project Manager you will line manage the England Volunteering Development Officers, lead on the strategic oversight for volunteering across England, and work collaboratively across the team to ensure volunteering is impact-led, embeds equity, diversity, and inclusion, and meets the needs of the organisation as well as the local community.

General Administration

The Supporter Acquisition team is responsible for all marketing to attract new supporters across a large portfolio of appeals/products and media. Hours: 3 days/21 hours per week (with some Sunday and evening work required)

About the role
- This is an exciting time for the Fundraising manager to join the team to aid in the income growth for Christ Church and St. Matthew's, including support for Agape, the community missional project.
- The Fundraising Manager will lead in building a pipeline of steady income from a range of income revenues including but not limited to creating and maintaining a grant program pipeline, and preparing engaging proposals for funders.
- You will help to develop a fundraising strategy to encourage the growth of regular financial giving and developing digital giving opportunities.
- You will generate new rentals for the available spaces to hire and build community fundraising partnerships.
- You will maintain accurate records, complying with policies on confidentiality and fundraising good practice.
- You will liaise with parish leaders and relevant stakeholders to support key initiatives.
About you
-You will have demonstrable experience in successful fundraising, including strategy development and individual giving.
-You will have outstanding communication skills, both written and spoken and be an effective relationship builder with the ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships.
-Attention to detail is key to this role as well as strong numeracy skills and the ability to manage
-You will have effective leadership skills and commitment to professional development.
-You will also have the willingness to work in a Christian environment and support the missional ethos of the parishes.
- Experience in fundraising management and knowledge of Church of England structures would be desirable as well as the knowledge of Spanish, or willingness to learn.

This year we are celebrating 10 years since I co-founded the college. So much has changed but our focus on supporting underrepresented people into tech jobs has remained central. We have dozens of stories of the amazing jobs that our learners have gone on to achieve and the flourishing lives that they are now living. We are looking for someone that can increase the scale and success rates of our apprenticeship applicants so that even more young people can reap the benefits of their unique tech education.
We are interested in finding people who are keen to make a contribution to our vision. We are looking for an Apprenticeship Outreach Officer who is super passionate about our mission, to educate and empower the next generation of diverse digital talent, and is focused on preparing and providing support to our Sixth Formers in their journey through the apprenticeship application process.

Key responsibilities of this role include:
- Working with your line manager and where delegated, the Apprenticeship Outreach Programme Manager, to create bespoke events and short courses for potential apprentices.
- Building relationships with our Sixth Form learners through their 2 years at Ada and helping them prepare for the different stages of the apprenticeship application process.
- Linking apprenticeship opportunities to specific Sixth formers.
- Social media promotion: working with our marketing manager on SM campaigns to raise awareness of Ada’s short courses, partnerships with employers and open recruitment campaigns.
- Completing the legacy apprenticeship recruitment activity for Autumn 2024 and Spring 2025.
- Shortlisting Sixth Form candidates for any exclusive apprenticeship opportunities.
- Assisting the Sixth Form Outreach and Recruitment team with event planning, administration and delivery including outreach events (Careers Fairs, Open Days, Lift-off days, school visits to Ada and Keep Warm events. (This will involve commitment on some weekends and evenings during busy times.)
- Assisting with wider college events.
- Supporting the Sixth Form recruitment effort as needed through the administration of the application process.
- Keeping accurate records, inputting data into Ada’s systems and exporting relevant information to produce reports and dashboards.
- Assisting with tasks and administration in the wider teams including Reception and Front-of -house, facilities and External Relations.

Based within the Development Team you will look to identify funding opportunities to secure funds to ensure the Hospice successfully achieves its objectives and development plan.
