We support hundreds of people a year to maintain their health and wellbeing, combat social isolation and digital inclusion through the varied activities and by signposting to relative local support services.

Job description 

Job Purpose 

• To provide a high-quality outreach support service that enables older adults with low level support needs to live independently within the community. 

• To a promote network services across the Boroughs to maximise their take-up. 

• To work closely with statutory and voluntary sector agencies to ensure appropriate services are accessed. 

• To ensure that service users have maximum choice and control over the planning and management of the service they receive, including initiating individual support plans and connecting them with culturally appropriate services. 

Key Tasks 

• To signpost people to appropriate services as required through outreach sessions in the Hub, Satellite centres, GP practices and pharmacies. 

• To develop shared working practices across the service network. 

• To work closely with providers of similar services 

• To work to agreed individual, team, and organisational objectives. 

• To work with existing activity groups at the hub and satellite centres and support the setting up of activities where appropriate. 

• To ensure all contacts with service users are recorded appropriately and to maintain an adequate filing system. 

• To use word-processing software to produce own correspondence and reports in accordance with relevant policy on confidentiality and data protection. 

• To collect monitoring information to enable the service to be evaluated. 

• To provide support to services outside of normal working hours and occasionally attend sessions when required. 

Administration  

• To ensure all relevant administration is organised and efficiently completed. 

• To assist co-ordinating service user client surveys/questionnaires as appropriate, collate feedback and evaluate the service provided. 

• To assist with the collection of data necessary to provide specific information needed for KPI’s and external requirements and outcomes. 

• To ensure all data is collected through AUKEL organisational customer relationship management data base systems. 

Quality 

• To be familiar with and to implement Age UK East London’s policies and procedures.

• To meet regularly with line manager for support, supervision, and appraisal.

CVAA UK is a membership organisation supporting not-for-profit adoption agencies across the UK who specialise in finding homes for children in care. Over 3000 children in the UK need adoption each year because they cannot remain at home or with family members. The CVAA Practice Programme delivers 30 or more online courses each year to those working in the sector, primarily social workers. The programme has developed a strong reputation for attracting a range of subject experts to deliver cost effective, engaging and useful training. The full programme is listed on the CVAA UK website and inlcudes topics such as LGBTQ+ parenting; therapy for children; identity formation; racism and anti-racism; parenting courses; theraplay and many more.

Due to a restructure of the team, we are now looking for a Training Manager who can oversee the administration and delivery of the programme. Initially fixed term, it is anticipated that this post will become permanent. We are keen to have someone joiun us as soon as possible.

The Training Manager will work with the Head of Practice Development to ensure that the courses are full, supported, delivered effectively and evaluated. Part of the role will also be to source new trainers and support the creation of the programme into 2025.

The CVAA team work remotely across the UK so location of the postholder is not a barrier to recruitment as long as long as they can travel occasionally and come into London for team days. The team is small, diverse and dynamic. Experience of project management or delivery of training or events is more important than knowledge of adoption or children's social care. We’re surrounded by junk food. From the moment we're born, every second of every day, children are being targeted. Giant companies manipulate them with colourful, cuddly, clever marketing, deceive them with packaging claims and pump products at them that are full of junk. It's become the cultural wallpaper. Now, it risks endangering the health of a generation.

In the UK, nearly a third of children aged 2-15 face a higher risk of food-related ill health in their futures. The good news is, it's preventable. And we're biting back.

Bite Back is a youth activist movement challenging a food system that's been set up to fool us all by:

1) Calling out the manipulation of the junk food giants.

2) Demanding higher standards from food marketing and from everyday food itself.

3) Mobilising and equipping young people in the fight for better food.

We do all this so we can bite back against a global epidemic of food-related ill health.

About Bite Back in Schools 

Bite Back has delivered our youth social action programme — Bite Back in Schools— to over 120 schools over the last two years. Working with secondary schools, we have supported over 2,000 11-14 year olds to plan and deliver social action projects to prioritise child health by improving their school food. This could be by making nutritious and sustainable food the norm by increasing the flow of healthy options in their canteens, or by redesigning the school food experience to put healthy options in the spotlight.

With funding awarded from the #iWill Fund, we are recruiting a brilliant cohort of schools who will join the programme in September 2024. Our programme model combines an assembly delivered by a Bite Back young ambassador, five hours of curriculum time sessions for a whole year group, and our ever-popular and impactful School Food Champions (SFC) extra-curricular club. Role Description

The Programmes Manager plays a key role supporting our community of schools during their time on the programme. They will support the design and lead on the delivery of Bite Back in Schools to ensure the best possible user experience for young people, their teachers and their schools, and to ensure the programme makes the greatest possible impact.

The Programmes Manager  will report to the Head of Programmes, and will work closely with colleagues across Bite Back, in particular with our comms, digital, youth and policy teams, working within our Strategy and Delivery Function. 

Key responsibilities include:

Relationship management

• Provide ongoing support to schools throughout their time on the programme, building strong working relationships with participating schools. 

• Lead communication with all schools, being the first point of contact for the coordinator and lead teacher in each school.

• Support monitoring and evaluation through creation of surveys, ensuring completion of baseline and end of year surveys, and analysis of data submitted (in partnership with our external evaluators).

• Book and arrange assemblies, coordinating between schools and our Bite Back Ambassadors.

Community management 

• Celebrate and share examples of best practice and impactful social action projects amongst our community of schools.

• Design and deliver training and webinars for schools.

• Lead on the design and delivery of competitions for schools.

• Schedule and organise visits to schools, agreeing agendas with the schools in advance to include elements including meeting pupils and teachers, leading feedback sessions and focus groups and supporting the development of their social action campaigns.

• Drafting of termly newsletters and regular emails to schools.

• Create case studies and collate material to share with our comms and digital teams.

• Encourage teachers and pupils to use the new Bite Back digital platform to share their stories and projects, and take part in broader Bite Back campaigns.

• Grow our movement - supporting the recruitment of future cohorts by promoting the Bite Back in Schools programme, distributing recruitment comms, holding set up calls with interested schools, and guiding schools through the application and enrolment process, working closely with the Head of Programmes on the design of these processes.

Project management of systems and operational support

• Manage the SFC inbox, dealing with enquiries from schools and other partners.

• Process invoices related to the programme, liaising between schools and the Bite Back accounts team, and monitoring the monthly total payments made to schools.

• Manage the budget for specific areas of programme expenditure, such as merchandise and Ambassador training. 

• Creating and uploading new high quality session plans, resources and materials to our digital  platform as required.

• Design and maintain reporting systems to monitor levels of engagement of individual schools, flagging concerns and proactively finding ways to mitigate issues to ensure schools remain on the programme.

• Management of programmes section of Bite Back CRM system, keeping data up to date and accurate, and developing reports to share programme data with team and funders.

Programme design and improvement

• Identifying opportunities to optimise the potential of our programmes and proactively making suggestions for continuous improvement to our user experience, programme design and systems. 

• Proactively seek feedback on customer satisfaction, impact and service improvement and use this to inform suggestions for improvements.

• Feed your ideas into programme delivery and development.

• Support new pilots and interventions, including testing innovative ideas on the ground, as requested to enable Bite Back to develop our suite of programmes and maximise opportunities for new work to further our mission across the school sector.

Responsibilities

This is what the role might entail

Working alongside CRIN’s Creative Directors and communications team, you will:

• Write engaging and accessible copy for CRIN’s channels (website, social and digital platforms)

• Manage the communications campaigns and digital strategies for CRIN’s projects, events and activities;

• Manage content for our digital platforms in a variety of formats (illustrations, videos, audio and written pieces);

• Develop a new social media strategy and manage our social media channels

• Implement a shift in approach to CRIN’s Instagram, fully weaving it into how we communicate about our work and with our audience — beyond stats and followers — to build a community where there is mutual learning;

• Coordinate tasks for our Digital Designer and Graphic Designer as required;

• Manage CRIN’s newsletter, sending out regular news and updates to our mailing list;

• Manage website maintenance and ensure that key pages on CRIN’s website are kept up to date and search engine friendly;

ABOUT THE SERVICE

Synergy, Brent is a Housing Related Support (HRS) Service for a range of vulnerable people who have been or are at risk of homelessness. The age eligibility criteria for the service is adults between the ages of 18 to 60, who are identified to have low/medium support needs. Some of the needs we support are:

• Single homeless between ages of 18 to 60
• Socially excluded individuals

OVERVIEW OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

LINE MANAGEMENT/LEADERSHIP

• Provide leadership to employees throughout the employee life cycle. This includes but is not limited to; Recruitment, onboarding, inductions, probation reviews, support and supervision, employee relations, performance, learning and development, staff wellbeing and support, grievances, sickness, disciplinaries, retention and other areas which fall within the employee lifecycle.
• Hold regular, high quality one to ones and team meetings, support effective teamwork and communication. Support with ensuring a culture where constructive challenge is welcomed, and conflict is managed supportively in line with relevant policies and procedures.
• Build and manage effective relationships across the organisation and ensure consistent communication, whilst upholding SIG’s values, policies, and procedures. Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to drive ongoing improvement to the service in line with best practice.

SERVICE DELIVERY

• Support the Service Manager with the day-to-day operational delivery of the service and work directly with colleagues, residents, participants, and other stakeholders to provide a high-quality, holistic service which meets the presenting needs of all relevant stakeholders.
• Ensure service responsibilities and requirements are carried out effectively. This includes but is not limited to; welfare checks, risk assessments, support sessions, safeguarding checks, training and development, and other responsibilities required for effective service delivery.
• Support the Service Manager to ensure the service and team meet and exceed Key Performance Indicators, and work in line with professional codes of conduct.
• In conjunction with the Service Manager, facilitate a program of continuous improvement in an environment where residents and participants are cared for, supported, and have access to resources they need to achieve positive and sustainable outcomes.
• Empower residents and participants to make decisions to take control over their lives, by creating an enabling environment.

RISK MANAGEMENT, INFORMATION MANAGEMENT AND CASE RECORDING

• Follow the relevant risk assessment and management procedures, share any relevant information with partner agencies as appropriate.
• Ensure all case recording, and information is accurately recorded in a timely manner, ensuring electronic records are protected in line with GDPR, and kept up to date and written to a high standard.
• Alongside the Service Manager, champion, and act as a point of reference for safeguarding concerns within the service(s). Ensure all staff attend relevant safeguarding and training and use knowledge to coach and advise the team.

PROPERTY AND HOUSING MANAGEMENT

• Create and manage a welcoming, psychologically informed home environment for residents and participants, ensuring a continuous focus on safety, health, and wellbeing.
• Ensure the accommodation in which residents live is maintained to a high standard, in line with SIG’s property standards and meets all legal and statutory health and fire safety requirements to operate safely, effectively, and efficiently.
• Ensure all repairs and maintenance issues are correctly reported and managed through to completion.

FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT

• Provide support in setting the service’s budget and reviewing monthly management accounts; manage set budgets effectively and ensure resources are maximized.
• Maintain financial management within the service, including but not limited to, invoice management, arrears management, management of petty cash, and expense claims.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

• Contract Management and Internal Auditing; Ensure due diligence is carried out and records are well maintained.
• Administration duties will vary, including operating online systems and ensuring correct processes are followed alongside GDPR and confidentiality.
• Other duties may include but are not limited to, maintaining clean and tidy environments, removing rubbish, ordering supplies, arranging in house events and activities and other general on-site duties.

KEY CRITERIA

What we are looking for:

• Understanding and/or experience of working with people of complex backgrounds, ex-offenders, mental health, substance misuse, challenging behaviours
• Experience of working with and engaging with diverse groups of people from varying backgrounds
• IT Proficiency, including Microsoft Office, and the ability to navigate and learn new case management systems and other types of organisational software
• Understanding and/or practical knowledge of the social and societal marginalisation that can be attached to people with mental health issues, addiction, exploitation, homelessness and within the criminal justice system

Background

Chapter One is a dynamic, growing charity with a vision of a world in which all children have the literacy skills needed to thrive. Our mission is to close the reading gap by providing children with one-to-one support at the time they need it most. We work in eleven areas/regions of the UK and will support 3250 children in 2024-25.

Our unique Online Reading Volunteer programme pairs struggling five to seven-year old (KS1) readers with reading support volunteers who are working professionals. The volunteer ask is very focused: readers commit 30 minutes a week to read with a child using a bespoke digital platform for an entire academic year. The results are transformative, boosting children's reading confidence and ability.

From a school perspective, online reading volunteers provide direct, meaningful literacy support for up to 10 pupils per class. The programme is particularly suitable for communities where it might be challenging to find parents and other volunteers who can commit to physically visiting schools to boost reading.

Job Summary

Chapter One is seeking a Birmingham/West Midlands Programme Manager from September 2024 who is an excellent communicator and is able both to motivate and support schools and teachers to implement our online reading volunteers programme, and also to ensure that the programme’s impact and benefit to disadvantaged communities is maximised throughout the academic year.

The post is ideal for someone looking for part-time, flexible, term-time only work from a home base and who is able to travel frequently around the Birmingham and West Midlands area. The postholder will be joining a team of established Programme Managers (also part-time) who work in different parts of the UK and will need to have some flexibility to work additional hours during busy autumn months, and conversely to work fewer hours during quieter periods of the year.

Key Responsibilities:

• Effectively explain Chapter One’s online reading volunteer programme and its benefits to school leaders and teachers

• Install, setup and maintain Chapter One equipment in participating classrooms

• Fully understand the operation of the Chapter One platform and database and communicate this to others

• Organise and conduct initial teacher training and follow-up

• Ensure a smooth initial launch of Chapter One’s programme in every classroom

• Liaise with colleagues performing technical and volunteer support roles

• Through regular visits to/contact with schools, provide on-going embedded professional learning and support to teachers throughout the year as needed

• Proactively monitor classroom adherence/fidelity to the Chapter One model, including systematic review of data reports and volunteer feedback, taking proactive action to resolve problems that arise

• Analyse and manipulate data (largely in Google sheets) to produce reports and identify trends

• Create monthly data summaries for all participating classrooms

• Lead annual review meetings for senior leadership at participating schools

• Support programme monitoring, evaluation and research as required

• Coordinate in person and virtual school ‘visits’ of volunteer teams to classrooms where necessary

• Liaison with corporate partners as required

• Weekly communication and status updates with Senior Programme Manager(s) and wider team

• As a new school year approaches, secure commitments from returning schools and find and target new schools to join Chapter One’s programme

We’re recruiting for a new Product Manager to support the 12 million people in the UK who are deaf, have hearing loss or tinnitus. We are on an exciting journey at RNID as we introduce and embed product & delivery approaches and you will have the drive to help us along that path.

You will play a critical role in the next phase of our website product, developing and owning the roadmap and delivering positive impact for all our audiences. This includes user experience, conversion rate optimisation, technical integrations to internal/external systems and usability & accessibility.

You’ll work with external agencies as well as our multi-disciplinary in-house team. You will ensure that our website and other relevant digital products deliver against our over-arching strategy.

You will work in a consultative and collaborative way, sharing your experience, expertise, and guidance to encourage effective decision making. Working closely with Marketing & Communications and other teams to ensure coherent user journeys and relevant product roadmaps are in place driving the desired outcomes. You will own the website product roadmap.

You will develop and execute multi-channel strategies delivered across the funnel from enhancing brand visibility and generating leads, nurturing leads to conversion, right the way through to supporting customer retention and advocacy. This varied role offers the opportunity to expand market reach with our current services, as well as helping launch new products into existing and untapped markets, while delivering a strong RoI. 

As well as being a commercial and strategic leader you will need to be a hands-on problem solver, ready to roll your sleeves up to support a small team to deliver where needed. You will be pivotal in ensuring we achieve our mission and deliver impact for post-16 students.  

You will report directly to the Chief Revenue Generation Officer who leads the revenue team, comprising of digital marketing and content specialists as well as membership support staff.  

Key Responsibilities: 

• Membership engagement and growth: Developing and executing strategic marketing and sales strategies to drive member engagement, growth and retention with our flagship membership and subscription services.  
• Brand positioning and visibility: Ensuring we have a powerful brand that punches above its weight to increase market share, drive competitive advantage and to position the organisation as a thought leader within the sector.
• Marketing analysis and segmentation: Conducting market analysis/research within existing and untapped markets to uncover insights to segment audiences and tailor marketing messaging and activities effectively to drive conversions. 
• Digital marketing: Overseeing digital marketing strategies, including website optimisation, email marketing, search marketing and social media marketing to drive traffic and conversion across the funnel stages.   
• Content and creativity: Oversea content strategy and creation across various formats and channels, ensuring innovation and creativity to stand out in a crowded market. 
• Data-driven decision making: Using analytics to test strategies, measure results and generate insights in order to iterate and improve performance, tracking key metrics and leading the team to deliver and report against agreed KPIs.  
• Budgeting and resource management: Tracking spend, ensuring cost effective allocation of resources and reporting on RoI.  
• Leadership and collaboration: Leading and mentoring the team to perform against growth and revenue targets as well as collaborating with other departments to ensure a unified approach.  

Essential experience and skills 

• Extensive experience in a similarly commercial marketing and sales role with a proven track record in driving revenue growth.
• Strong strategic thinking skills with a track record of successful planning and execution. 
• A commercial and results-driven mindset with a commitment to achieving and exceeding financial targets. 
• A diverse marketing skillset and proficiency across a range of marketing channels.  
• Experience leading and line managing a team to perform.  
• Excellent communication skills with an ability to convey complex ideas and concepts in an accessible way for a range of stakeholders,  
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with fluctuating demands and priorities.  
• Demonstrated ability in managing budgets and tracking RoI.

Summary of Role

Work in collaboration with the Head of Service to manage and coordinate the day-to-day operations of the Foodbank. You will manage and support a team of volunteers, leading by example to ensure the Foodbank operates smoothly and the continuity of delivery standards within the guidelines of EFB policies and procedures.

The ideal candidate will have experience of working or volunteering in a Foodbank. They will be a strong leader and be hard-working, organised, collaborative and confident. They must be passionate about tackling poverty, deprivation and injustice and have a non-judgemental and positive attitude towards people who require support.
