About this job

In this role you will provide administrative support to the Volunteering and Community Networks Department and Head of Volunteering and Community Networks.

You’ll be proactive and highly motivated. Attention to detail is essential as is the ability to plan and manage a busy and varied workload to provide support on various tasks.

You will contribute to the smooth running of the department through managing diaries, booking meetings and being responsible for departmental invoice processing.

As a part of the Volunteer Support Admin Team you will provide high quality support to our Community Networks volunteers based across the UK.

You will ensure that all volunteer enquiries are resolved promptly, that information provided to volunteers is aligned to our organisational positions and standards that relevant information is recorded and appropriate follow-up actions are completed.

Your insight will help inform our wider Community Networks team on volunteer priorities and issues.

The position of Chief Operating Officer is an exciting new role within the charity. The last few years have seen Coram’s Fields grow both operationally and financially, and we now employ around 65 staff and in 2024/25 are expecting to turnover c.£2.4 million.

Key Roles and Duties

Stewardship and Donor Engagement

Manage donor stewardship to provide personalised and engaging communications, including:

• Producing supporter materials.
• Building a thanking programme that offers a personal and engaging donor experience.
• Collaborating with colleagues to identify individual stories for impactful campaign content.
• Ensure all activities and contacts are managed through the charity’s CRM system.
• Maximise gift aid opportunities.

Campaign and Material Management

Work closely with the Communications Manager to:

• Create campaigns.
• Generate publicity opportunities e.g. radio, newspaper, online etc.
• Engage ambassadors and campaign specific ambassadors.
• Collect and draft beautiful stories, testimonies and case studies that engage supporters.
• Manage the production of supporter materials.
• Assist in developing Mailchimp email marketing and analyse and evaluate user journeys to maximise impact.

 Innovation and Market Trends

Lead the charge in:

• Coming up with new ideas and initiatives to bolster individual giving.
• Managing a continuous cycle of testing for new channels and techniques for acquisition and retention, based on audience insight and sector trends.

 General:

• Collaborate and communicate well with team members and particularly line manager.

Role Requirements

We are looking for the right person to join the team – this could be someone with experience or someone who is willing to learn and has a strong transferrable skill set.

You will have:

• Effective campaign copy writing and ability to translate ideas into design briefs.
•  A minimum level of skill in graphic design (e.g., InDesign, Photoshop, Canva). 
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with diverse audiences in friendly and welcoming way in keeping with WONDER’s approach to empowerment.

Desirable skills and experience:

•  Experience of income generation from direct marketing campaigns (acquisition and/or retention) across a variety of digital channels for acquisition and retention.

• Experience of using databases for targeting, segmentation, testing and response analysis and how to apply these learnings to future campaigns.

We are looking for two Community Energy Engagement Advisers to join our Retail and Cadent teams to deliver energy support sessions in local communities using the Scope retail stores in the North or South regions. 

Fixed term 2 years, 35 hours a week

We are recruiting for 2 positions, one in the North Region and one in the South Region.

Location: Base to be confirmed, working within the North or South region with some working from home.

The role 

As Community Energy Engagement Adviser, you will be empowering individuals and families through workshops and one-to-one support. You will train retail staff and volunteers to engage with individuals and families, with a particular emphasis on energy advice and support.

The service will help customers through their unfair extra costs and additional vulnerability to fuel poverty. 

The successful candidate must pass an Enhanced DBS check

You will:

• Plan and deliver training for retail staff and volunteers on energy support.
• Work with local organisations to reach those needing energy advice.
• Create and share information on energy saving, bill management, and renewable energy benefits.
• Track and evaluate the effectiveness of community sessions and individual interventions, and adjust strategies as needed.
• Keep updated on energy sector changes, legislation, grants, and best practices.
• Ensure operations meet community needs and organisational goals.
• Follow organisational policies and industry regulations.
  Explore new technologies and partnerships to improve service delivery.

This Department comprises the Academy, which supports the professional development of staff and volunteers in rescues and rehoming organisations and Grants & Programmes, which provides strategic funding and support to organisations and researchers within the animal welfare sector. The team is seeking a Grants & Programmes Coordinator to support the development and delivery of the Grants & Programmes function. They will act as first point of contact for the Grants & Programmes team; assist with administration of grants, the maintenance of data, produce reports; develop blogs and case studies; and manage travel for team and grantee events.

The Fundraising Officer at the Childhood Eye Cancer Trust (CHECT) supports a wide range of the charity’s activities, including but not limited to, helping to develop and grow income from individual donors with a focus on developing strong relationships with donors and families; as well as assisting with CHECT’s overall admin and operations.

• To assist the Fundraising Manager on the organisation of events primarily mass participation events

This is a new role at Wen, with a focus on building Wen's in-house media relations and story gathering capacity while also getting involved in all areas of communications, particularly social media. To help you settle into the role and support your development you will receive mentoring from a PR consultant. 

Part of your role will be visiting Wen's projects and events to gather content, impact stories and case studies for use in the media and on our social media channels. It will also include leading on social media day-to-day, including at Wen events, so you will need experience of running multiple social media channels efficiently.

You will have an interest in Wen’s areas of work and have an understanding of gender, racial and social justice issues at a personal and political level. You will take an inclusive, intersectional feminist and anti-racist approach to your work. This will be vital for engaging on social media and creating stories and content aligned with Wen's values.

Key information

Salary - £35,284 FTE per annum, pro rata (Grade 3)

Contract - 4 days/28 hours per week, Permanent. Tuesday is a core working day for the majority of Wen staff.

Strategic Communication: You will work with the Head of Communications and Engagement to deliver Wen’s Communications Strategy.

Media Relations: You will build Wen's in-house media relations capacity, to include developing and delivering media plans, cultivating relationships with journalists and securing positive media coverage in national, local and sector media. We are seeking additional staff to join our experienced and committed teams within our Complex Needs Service in Westminster.  You will be in a specialist role designed to work with people with complex support needs, relating to mental health, multiple physical health needs, poly-substance use and offending.

As a Project / Support Worker Complex Needs, your role will be to provide support to clients to enable them to understand their support needs and to manage these effectively.  You will hold a caseload of clients and be responsible for helping them to identify short term objectives, meet their goals and complete risk assessments. You will also support clients to develop their living skills, develop and manage relationships, build social networks and to access various services.

About you:

• Previous experience of working in the health and social care, supporting vulnerable people, rough sleepers or people with complex mental health, physical health or substance use support needs. 
• An understanding of working with people using person-centred approaches. 
• The ability to manage a caseload and deliver positive outcomes utilising your knowledge of the health and social care sector. 
• A flexible and creative approach to working with a sometimes hard to engage client group.

Flexibility is required, as you will be working a rota inclusive of early shifts, late shifts and bank holidays.
