We are looking for a Senior Digital Officer to join our ambitious and growing type 1 diabetes charity, JDRF, as part of the digital and marketing team. 

You will build our reach by ensuring our website is search engine optimised and will champion optimisation with all content providers across the organisation. You will build landing pages and microsites for fundraising campaigns across various platforms, complete user experience research to develop compelling user journeys and will evaluate the performance of our digital channels. Occasionally, you will also support JDRF’s paid media campaigns. 

An experienced digital professional, you may have worked for a charity before in a similar role. You will be motivated by the latest digital trends and will be familiar with a variety of digital channels. You will be ever-curious, always seeking to improve your skills and adopt new approaches.

About this role

The Digital Acquisition Officer is a key member of the Mass Engagement team and part of the wider Development team. The Mass Engagement team exists to raise awareness of Reprieve’s work, shift public opinion and to inspire support. Your role will be to engage members of the public, grow the Reprieve’s community and help establish our supporter base.

It is an exciting time for our team, as we launch their first mass engagement strategy to promote the long-term growth of the programme. Digital fundraising boomed between 2020 and 2021 but has faced challenges in 2022 and 2023. As we launch our new strategy, we are looking for a creative and enthusiastic individual, keen to try new things and learn through testing, excited about communicating Reprieve’s work to our supporters and inspiring them to donate.

You will be key to the acquisition of new supporters, leading on developing and managing lead generation across our platforms, building paid for and organic content, and developing new and innovative ways to engage supporters with the support of the Head of Digital and Mass Engagement.

Qualifications criteria:

What does the role involve?

· Managing the relationship with our website development agency. Making recommendations for areas of improvement and further development.

· Managing our analytics and other insight platforms to ensure that we collect robust data and can make informed, evidence-based recommendations to ensure we’re using digital to deliver against the Foundation’s strategic objectives.

· Support and develop the implementation of an SEO strategy for our website content to ensure that our audiences can find our content.

As the Digital Fundraising Officer you will play a key role in supporting the digital fundraising strategy in the UK and internationally, with the objective of significantly growing the public supporter base and income. You will help expand the rapidly growing programme in the UK by assisting the execution of lead generation and fundraising campaigns that engage supporters and generate revenue to support the organization's aims.

Main Duties

• Programme Execution: Assist the Digital Acquisition team in the planning and execution of UK paid digital fundraising and lead generation campaigns. This includes the setup of campaigns, the creation of landing pages, optimising live campaigns, moderating paid social media content and analysing results.
• Planning and reporting: Ensure all work undertaken is data-informed and evidence based.

Role requirements

• A proven track record of successfully delivering digital marketing campaigns. This includes ideation, planning, budgeting, setup, delivery, analysis and reporting.

The charity offers a flexible working environment, with hybrid working from their office in Leatherhead, Surrey.

In this unique and exciting new role you will lead, manage and deliver high-level effective campaigns within a commercial environment. In addition to forms of advertising, we are looking to strengthen our inhouse expertise with additional channels such as Display and Programmatic advertising as appropriate to achieve our advertising goals. Working with the Senior Head of Digital and team, you will be required to plan, develop and execute high quality, engaging digital campaigns which attracts and retains key stakeholder groups (donors, veterans, influencers etc.) inspiring them to take action.

As the Senior Digital Campaigns Officer you will be responsible for developing and implementing digital marketing plans to engage and recruit supporters for a diverse range of events to achieve annual targets. Working with our Challenge Events Manager you will also ensure that our events website is accessible, optimised and kept up to date and will develop new initiatives, using a digital first approach.

Key Responsibilities:

· Working with the Digital and Challenge & Community teams to implement and maintain comprehensive digital strategies for our challenge & Community events that encompasses all areas of our digital communications to achieve fundraising goals. Working collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams to agree metrics and performance data

· Plan, construct and execute paid campaigns for the charity. Optimising engaging campaigns across primary platforms including social media, SEM, SEO and display advertising as appropriate

· Create structured A/B tests and perform analysis to identify levers impacting channel performance. Use data-driven insights to continuously improve the ROI of campaigns

· Understand CRO techniques to improve conversion rates

· Document and present results to internal stakeholders fostering a culture of creativity, collaboration and continuous learning.

Person Specification:

· Significant experience working in a similar role with large income and expenditure budgets

Purpose of the Role

The Digital Marketing Manager will implement and help develop a new digital marketing strategy, crucial to the ongoing development of ArtsEd’s profile and reputation and the successful delivery of all our programmes.

Understanding the needs of current and prospective students and pupils and their parents, and being able to identify digital plans and initiatives which will enable ArtsEd to meet both the long and short-term needs is a central aspect of the role.

The Digital Marketing Manager will lead in the planning and implementation of digitally creative and customer focused campaigns and will be responsible for the achievement of student and pupil recruitment targets. They will work closely with senior staff and the rest of the Marketing team to deliver highly effective experiences to all stakeholders and potential stakeholders.

The Digital Marketing Manager will be responsible for the continuing development of ArtsEd’s online profile amongst all of our target audiences, including high-level industry connections, potential supporters and the local community, alongside potential students, pupils and parents.

In addition, the Digital Marketing Manager will be responsible for ensuring that ArtsEd’s messaging is consistent, innovative and compelling across all platforms.

Digital Marketing

• Plan and execute digital marketing, including SEO/SEM, email, social media and display advertising campaigns in collaboration with the wider marketing team.
• Use digital marketing expertise to create effective user funnels to optimise conversion rates, tracking user behaviour in order to refine processes.

• Collaborate closely with staff across the organisation to identify storytelling opportunities to ensure a full understanding of ArtsEd’s broad range of target audiences.

• Set up digital advertising campaigns through Meta, Google Ads and other platforms

• Utilise excellent graphic design skills to collaborate with the team on the design and delivery of different digital campaigns for all stakeholder groups. This will include mass e-mails, social media posts and digital collateral as required.
• Instrument conversion points and optimize user funnels.
• Monitor social media communications (both comments on posts and direct messages) and respond in a timely and appropriate manner.

Design & Brand

• Be a guardian of the ArtsEd brand, ensuring correct and effective use of our branding and house style both internally and externally.

Graphic Design

• Create print and digital advertising material using Canva or similar software.

• Support the print production process, liaising with printers and publications, proof reading and adapting print collateral as required.

Recruitment

• Lead on the implementation and delivery of a robust digital marketing strategy to optimise student and pupil recruitment across the whole organisation. This will include:
• Building on existing digital activity to maximise its reach and impact against all of our target audiences, including digital and associated print advertising.
• Managing an associated  programme of recruitment focused events and activities, both virtual and face-to-face, to raise our profile and to maximise our enquires, registrations, applications and acceptances across all of our activities.
• Supporting the relevant teams in the delivery of this programme, which will include existing activity e.g. Day School and Sixth Form Open Days, degree audition days and our outreach programme.
• To programme our email marketing conversion communication using software Mailer Lite/MailChimp
• Overseeing the production of all marketing collateral.

Social Media

• Overseeing the planning and delivery of a social media plan that aligns with and enhances all strands of the marketing and communications strategy
• Create engaging and content drive social media assets.

• Identifying opportunities to create and update brand focused content

Market Analysis/Planning

• Review and analysis of data to identify competitor tactics, market trends, new opportunities and challenges.

The Women’s Budget Group (WBG) is the UK’s leading feminist economics think tank, providing evidence on women’s economic position and proposing policy alternatives for a gender-equal economy.

Having been through a period of growth, our small team is expanding! You will lead on content for our website, newsletter and social media channels, helping us to reach new audiences and translate complex ideas into accessible and engaging short videos, infographics and other images.

Location: Hybrid London / remote.  The postholder must be resident in the UK with the right to work in the UK. Office is in Vauxhall, London. Post can be worked as office based or a mixture of office/remote working with at least two days per week in the office.

Duration: 18 month contract with potential to extend subject to funding.

Salary: £36,288 pro-rata (£29,030 for 30 hours) plus 5% pension contributions.
