We're Mind, the mental health charity. We provide life-changing information and support, online and in print. We're looking for an editorial professional to join our friendly, established content team. You’ll be working across two exciting funded programmes providing tailored support to emergency services professionals and people with mental health problems who are facing financial disadvantage.
About you:
You’ve got a background in information editing and publishing and strong project management skills. You understand what it takes to create reliable, accessible, user-centred content. You’re experienced in working closely with both subject experts and people with personal experience of the issues. You are comfortable working with multiple stakeholders, managing relationships and priorities. You're confident using digital platforms and CMSs, and can pick up new ones quickly. And you care deeply about supporting and empowering people with mental health problems.

The Microbiology Society is a membership charity for scientists interested in microbes, their effects and their practical uses. It is one of the largest microbiology societies in Europe with a worldwide membership based in universities, industry, hospitals, research institutes and schools.
Our principal goal is to develop, expand and strengthen the networks available to our members so that they can generate new knowledge about microbes and ensure that it is shared with other communities. We are looking for a part time Editorial Officer to join our friendly and welcoming team, who are based in Central London (currently working from home due to COVID-19 restrictions). This role will report to the Head of Journal Development and will have responsibility for of the Society’s journal development activities, from conception through to completion, as allocated by the Head of Journal Development.

Our client, based near Gloucester, has a fantastic opportunity for an Editorial Assistant to join its publications team to work on its internationally-renowned series of veterinary publications.
Responsibilities:
The Editorial Assistant will take on a variety of administrative tasks to support members of the team and also act as one of the main points of contact for external authors and editors. This role represents an ideal first step in a publishing career.
Requirements:
The successful candidate will ideally be of graduate calibre or equivalent. A degree in life or health sciences would be advantageous.
Previous publishing experience would be an advantage but is not essential. Strong Microsoft Office skills together with an awareness of the digital publishing environment would also be advantageous.
The successful candidate will enjoy working in a team environment and have excellent verbal and written communication skills. The successful applicant should also be able to multi-task and prioritise their workload, paying meticulous attention to detail.

About You
You are a digital communications professional with demonstrable, hands-on, experience of working with the Umbraco content management systems; of creating new or updating existing content; have great judgement in dealing with sensitive editorial content alongside strong communications skills; and an ability to provide support and consultancy to a range of stakeholders. Working in our Communications and Marketing team, this role requires a candidate with excellent project management skills, who’ll be able to understand complex digital requirements, combined with the confidence and expertise to prioritise to keep projects on schedule and to budget.
