The Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join a small, but ambitious grassroots charity run by and for women seeking asylum. WAST has a proud track record of providing a safe space for women to come together in solidarity and campaign for justice in an increasingly hostile environment.

We are looking for a Project Coordinator to play a key role in developing and delivering WAST’s women-led programmes. You will work closely with the staff team, management group (elected by members to define WAST’s priorities and organise activities), and our wider membership to ensure that projects reflect the needs and aspirations of the women who use WAST. WAST’s current priorities include delivering wellbeing activities (with a focus on trauma-informed approaches), running asylum information workshops, and strengthening our campaigning group. As Project Coordinator, you will help develop and manage initiatives that support these priorities. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is organised, collaborative, and passionate about supporting women seeking asylum to shape and lead the projects and initiatives they value. 

About WAST

Women Asylum Seekers Together (WAST) is a grassroots Manchester-based charity led by and for women who are seeking asylum and currently has around 170 members. WAST was founded in 2005 by one of WAST’s current board members, whilst fighting her own anti-deportation campaign, and became a constituted charity in 2014.

We provide a safe, supportive space where women can come together to build community, gain confidence, access peer support, and advocate for their rights. Women are at the sharp end of the ‘hostile environment’ with punitive government immigration policies and practice. WAST enables a process of empowerment through which women gain the confidence and strength to voice their experience and campaign for justice.

WAST is a place of hope and belonging with its core values of compassion, respect, inclusion and empowerment and its continuous development of its trauma informed peer support approach. WAST is proud of its pioneering work giving a voice to women seeking asylum and inspiring other women around the country to set up similar groups. WAST has been at the forefront of national campaigning against detention, has published three books and created two plays, giving voice to women’s experiences.

WAST runs weekly skill-building and wellbeing activities, a weekly drop-in session where women can access signposting and referrals to services, and a variety of external events throughout the year. Activities are identified and led by the WAST Management Group, elected by the membership and supported by WAST staff. WAST’s current priorities, as identified by the management group, include developing asylum information workshops, a range of wellbeing trauma informed activities, and advancing the campaign group.

As an Income Officer at the Motor Neurone Disease (MND) Association, you’ll play a key role in ensuring all income is processed efficiently, accurately, and with the highest standards of supporter care. You’ll help maintain the integrity of our income data and make sure every supporter’s contribution is handled with respect and precision. Key Responsibilities:

• Process income and related data accurately on the CRM database, ensuring all income is accurate and coded correctly
• Allocate restricted income in line with supporters’ wishes and organisational guidelines
• Maintain strong relationships with supporters, responding to enquiries by phone, email, or post with professionalism and care
• Manage over 7,000 regular supporters through Direct Debit, Standing Order, and Payroll Giving, including reconciliations and regular transaction processing
• Carry out Gift Aid checks before HMRC submissions and help maximise Gift Aid income
• Maintain and manage financial and data systems with high data integrity, ensuring compliance with Data Protection and audit requirements
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to streamline processes and identify practical improvements to manage increasing transaction volumes
• Support the wider Supporter Care and Fundraising teams through integrated working and shared learning

The Financial Education team is at the forefront of Financial Education in the UK. This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced and innovative education professional to make a significant contribution to the future wellbeing of our children and communities.

What the role looks like

The Financial Education Coordinator will be responsible for recruiting and onboarding schools to embed our free financial education resources into primary school classrooms in the central belt of Scotland. You will have an excellent understanding of the challenges and pressures that exist within a primary school environment. You will be able to generate enthusiasm for financial education, as well as develop strong relationships with schools and other project collaborators. You will achieve this by proactively researching, networking, and making connections with schools. You will speak to stakeholders, including teachers and school leadership, to promote our programme. Once they have registered, you will then train the teachers and school staff on how to incorporate our resources flexibly into their classrooms. The Financial Education Delivery Coordinator will need to work flexibly with each school to best meet their needs, according to our policies and guidelines. Reporting the progress of the various programmes is a key part of the role and the ability to collate data, identify risks, and meet deadlines is vital.

Crucial to the role is a willingness to be part of a wider project team, an ability to adapt and respond to change, and a belief in the impact that we can make to young people.

Overall purpose

 As the Finance Officer, you will be required to ensure that our income and expenditure records are accurate, complete, free from error and comply with both the relevant accounting standards as well as donor restrictions. This role will play a key part in ensuring that the recording of financial information is compliant and auditable, in both the finance system and CRM.

You will also work alongside the Head of Finance to support the wider organisation in its financial understanding and management. This support will focus on both the fundraising team to empower them to raise as many funds as possible, especially unrestricted funds, and the services team to ensure their financial processes are robust and efficient. You will also be expected to contribute to and uphold our outstanding culture by living and demonstrating our values of being mission-led, welcoming, entrepreneurial and collaborative.

Key responsibilities

Finance responsibilities

• Record all income and expenditure general ledger transactions in the finance system, ensuring correct coding and full supporting documentation is stored in either the finance system or in the CRM.
• Have ownership of both the sales ledger and purchase ledger, ensuring all entries are recorded accurately with the correct VAT treatment while adhering to the relevant controls.
• Ensure all staff and client expenses are captured and recorded accurately, adhere to the relevant expense policy and are paid in a timely manner.
• Prepare and post payment runs alongside the Head of Finance
• Support the Financial Accountant in the monthly bank reconciliation
• Participate in month end processes to ensure the I&E figure is accurate within the pre-determined deadline, including posting prepayments, deferrals and accruals where relevant and other accounting adjustments as needed such as grossing up of platform fees.
• Ensure all finance documentation is complete and auditable including restricted fund evidence, and ensure the relevant GAUs are tracked on salesforce.
• Capture all restricted fund income and expenditure is the finance system on a monthly basis (staff and non-staff) alongside the Financial Accountant and Head of Finance
• Understand clawback risk on grants
• Ensure Breaking Barriers is claiming gift aid where applicable and optimising opportunities to reclaim input VAT in our business/non-business VAT return
• Reconciling to third party platforms on a monthly basis including fundraising platforms and Equals
• Work with the Head of Finance to upskill the fundraising and service teams to ensure they understand necessary financial processes
• Undertake income and expenditure control activities e.g. checking for grant rejection letters and verifying changes to supplier details.
• Be the finance team’s superuser for the CRM
• Support in year-end audit and the creation of relevant notes
• Support with ad hoc projects such as the implementation of a new finance system and policy and procedure updates

Technology

• Support the Financial Accountant, Finance Director and outsourced technology provider as needed for ongoing technology support and occasional projects.

• Support the financial team and any applicable offices as needed for ongoing office and facility management

Job information:

We are looking for someone with impressive programme management and change management experience, who can lead through others. Someone who is both attentive to detail, and an expert communicator. 

You will lead a team of four experts in project and event management, who support clinicians and specialist advisors to deliver truly impactful programmes, projects and networks, with and for the hospice sector. 

You’ll shape our approach to programme management across the team, developing and embedding ways of working that give our work consistency, quality and meaningful results. 

You will also spearhead the delivery of two new, vital programmes of work - supporting the wellbeing and professional development of the hospice workforce, and improving access to quality hospice care for people experiencing socio-economic disadvantage.

Perhaps you’re working in the charity and/or healthcare sector already, or you might bring senior programme management experience from other fields. 

Either way, you’ll become part of a close, 17-strong Programmes Team at Hospice UK. We work together and alongside external experts, to design and deliver evidence-based programmes, projects and events, which help hospices provide the very best care in their communities.

The Role

As Chief Executive Officer you will be the senior officer responsible for the strategic leadership, operational management, financial stewardship and external representation of Anaphylaxis UK. About the role

The Developer (Full-stack) plays a key role in developing and enhancing user-centric digital products at Christian Aid. This position focuses on delivering high-quality front-end (70%) and back-end (30%) solutions on the Drupal CMS, ensuring seamless and intuitive user experiences.
