Neighbourhood Watch Network (NWN) is the representative charity for the Neighbourhood Watch movement across England and Wales with over 2.3M members and 60,000 volunteers. We are the largest volunteer led crime prevention and community development charity in the UK. Neighbourhood Watch Network supports and represents the successful grass roots, volunteer led group of organisations under the Neighbourhood Watch brand. We have received funding to start several new projects, and now need a Finance Officer to join the Finance Manager in a small finance team to support the growing organisation. The Finance Officer will also support the wider team with expenses, reviewing their spending verses their budgets, and will help manage the online shop.

Battersea is undergoing a significant transformation programme (known as Launchpad) to deliver real change in the way we work with, utilise, and learn from data. Our new approach will enable smoother animal, customer and supporter journeys and will help us embed a truly data and insight-driven approach to decision-making at Battersea.

With the programme underway this exciting role has been created within the new Data Applications delivery team. This role, working within the Data Applications Team will initially be responsible for supporting the implementation of the Launchpad programme. Once the programme has been completed, this role will then be responsible for the ongoing delivery of future change and enhancement projects require for our new Salesforce Lightning CRM, MuleSoft AnyPoint and other related applications.

Head of Finance and Operations

Location: The role is based at the Trust’s office in West Berkshire with a minimum of three days per week expected to be worked at our Newbury office. Flexible working arrangements are available with the understanding that this must meet the objectives of the charity and requirements of the role.

Start date: 01/08/2024 or as soon as possible thereafter

Hours of work: Full-time, permanent.

Salary range: £55,000 - £60,000 FTE, depending on experience.

Purpose

This is an exciting and vital role performing a range of finance and governance tasks, working within the Senior Leadership Team of a leading mental health charity focused on supporting children and young people.

The Head of Finance and Operations (HFO) will be responsible for the successful management of the charity finances and operations, as well as making a leading contribution to the  charity’s strategic direction.  The role is responsible to the CEO, and activity oversight spans finance, HR, IT, and office management. The HFO is also responsible to the Trustees for the financial state of the charity and as Company Secretary. As a result, the HFO must working closely with the treasurer, members of the finance and investment committee, as well as the senior leadership team and our existing finance and operation colleagues.

We are looking for an highly motivated, efficient, diligent and confident finance professional with experience of managing a team. The role is varied and would suit a qualified accountant with experience of working collaboratively and compassionately with a range of colleagues to achieve organisational objectives. Key responsibilities and duties

Strategy, modelling and leadership

• Lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive financial strategy supporting the organisation’s wider strategic plan.
• Provide guidance and leadership on short and long-term financial decisions.
• Develop and monitor the implementation of long-range financial plans with the CEO, Board of Trustees and the Finance and Investment committee, to support organisational sustainability and growth.
• Provide leadership (including line management of at least one member of staff) to our small but invaluable finance and operations team comprising our finance and operations manager, finance assistant, and our office and IT coordinator.

Financial and Operational Management

• Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the organisation’s mission, vision and priorities.
• Streamline and optimise operational processes and systems to enhance efficiency, quality, and scalability while availing technological advancement. This includes systems, IT, CRM, Facilities and supplier management.
• Provide strategic financial guidance to the CEO, the Senior Leadership Team and the Board of Trustees.
• Monitor financial performance, identify risks, and recommend corrective actions.
• Optimise and manage the Trust’s working capital and cash flow position.

About the role

As part of this exciting role, you will be responsible for successfully planning and delivering our UK campaigns. You’ll achieve this by leading a dedicated team to develop integrated strategies across multiple areas, managing campaign budgets and coordinating political and public engagement efforts. As part of this role you will help to foster partnerships with key stakeholders, align strategies with international counterparts and oversee digital campaigning.

Main Responsiblities: 

• Supporting the Professional Officer in managing finance, human resources, risk management, quality, operational change, board activities and business planning for the organisation.
• Providing programme management support for SAPHNA bidding, budget, invoicing, and contract management processes.
• To support the development and delivery of SAPHNA business planning and prioritisation, including horizon scanning and creating business cases and new opportunities for income generation. 
• To support the Professional Officer in ensuring all the organisations charitable obligations are met.
• To support the Professional Officer and SAPHNA team as required in any other related work- streams.
• Line manage the administrator assistant and have organisation oversight and governance responsibilities of the office based processes.

Whitley Fund for Nature
Whitley Fund for Nature (WFN) is a UK-registered charity (1081455) offering funding (Awards), training and media profile to inspiring leaders of wildlife conservation projects across the Global South. We support pragmatic, sustainable, and long-lasting work rooted in science and community involvement. The charity funds projects directly and we remain in regular contact with Award winners (grantees). The Bike Project (TBP) is looking for a Marketing Executive to join the Fundraising & Marketing Team.  This role will focus on delivering marketing activity to help drive fundraising donations, increase income through retail sales, and boost engagement with our audiences. 

This is a key growth area for TBP, and the post holder will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in digital marketing across a range of channels, including social media, email, search, and advertising. We are always exploring new avenues for obtaining fundraising income, and this role will work closely with the Marketing Manager to execute marketing campaigns that achieve this goal. The Bike Project has an entrepreneurial culture stemming from our online and physical bike shop, which raises considerable income annually. This post will contribute to encouraging sales through targeted marketing activities. At a key development time in the Marketing function of our organization, it’s an exciting period where we are exploring new opportunities for driving fundraising, income, and engagement. The post holder will be encouraged to harness their creativity to generate new ideas and work collaboratively with the team to execute them.

Main Purpose of the Role

The Media, Production and Sound Technician is a key role within the Creative and Worship teams, with responsibility for the provision of sound, visual and technical support for St Stephen’s Worship, Communications and Media production ministry.

Key objectives

· To enable the church’s worship through excellent sound, visual, staging and production of all services and special events (including online).

· To continuously recruit, train, oversee and support volunteer teams for sound, lighting and VPS.

· To have a vision for enabling worship which flows from your own living faith in Jesus.

· To help inspire a culture of creative worship and prayer at St Stephen’s.

· To oversee the maintenance of worship equipment (inc. organ and piano tuning), liaising with external contractors as needed.
