Who we are
The problem - On average, 160 young people are excluded from school each week. Once excluded, prospects for these young people are bleak, with only 4% achieving good GCSE grades, and 67% entering sustained education, employment or training compared to 96% of their non-excluded peers. This can be a pipeline to prison, with concerning statistics showing 63% of prisoners having been excluded from school.
Our mission - To ensure that young people who have been excluded from school are not excluded from society.
Who we serve - We support the hardest to reach young people in the most disadvantaged communities, each of whom are most at risk of experiencing school exclusion or are at risk of being excluded. Young people who are eligible for free school meals are 4x more likely to get excluded, along with black Caribbean boys. Young people with special educational needs are also six times as likely to be excluded as their peers.
Our work - We work in a number of different settings both during term time and after school. Our coaches lead small groups of 8-10 young people, using sport as a hook and mentorship as an anchor to develop their soft skills, as well as improve their physical & mental wellbeing. This, coupled with exposure to the work place through Career Taster Days, raises their aspirations and puts young people in a better position to enter sustained education, employment or training (EET) when they leave school.

Since its establishment in 2006, ROLDA has become a beacon of hope for the millions of vulnerable stray animals in Romania – one of Europe's economically poorest nations. Our mission is to manage the homeless animal population, estimated to be millions, through six key focuses: rescue, rehabilitation, sheltering, sterilisation, and education. Within our shelters, inspired by British kennel design and maintained to meet EU animal welfare standards, we can house up to 700 stray dogs at a time. Here, they receive complete veterinary care, rehabilitation, and preparation for rehoming. Since 2006, we have helped over 48,000 animals (primarily dogs and cats) and built two shelters for dogs and one for disabled and senior cats. We also distribute support, primarily through small grants, to six other charities in Romania and over 40 shelters in Ukraine. We rehome mainly in Switzerland, Sweden, and the UK. In addition to our efforts in rescuing and rehoming animals, ROLDA tackles the root cause of Romania's homeless animals through comprehensive neutering programmes and educational initiatives. Since 2006, we have successfully neutered nearly 20,000 cats and dogs, significantly impacting Romania's severe overpopulation of animals.

The Orchard Project is recruiting a Head of Fundraising to develop and implement their income strategy as they enter an exciting period of growth and continue their mission to unite, empower and educate by bringing orchards into the heart of urban communities.
Closing date: 9 a.m. Monday 13th May
Who we are.
The Orchard Project brings orchards into the heart of urban communities, along with the many benefits they provide: environmental, physical, mental, social, and educational. They are the only national charity dedicated to the creation, restoration and celebration of community orchards.
For many hundreds of years, orchards were a key part of communities across the UK. But sadly, due to urban development, many of these green spaces, which are hubs of biodiversity, have disappeared. The Orchard Project’s mission is to reverse this decline and ensure everyone in cities across the UK is within easy reach of a thriving community orchard.
They also provide accredited horticultural courses and training with a view to increasing employment and representation amongst marginalised communities and host events and activities centred around orchards to improve community cohesion.
The fruit produced by orchards is used by local communities and shared throughout cities by teaming up with foodbank charities and advocating nationwide for the benefits of community orchards.
The Orchard Project is a national charity working across the country with bases in London, Manchester, Bristol, Swansea, Glasgow and Edinburgh.
About the role.
As Head of Fundraising and a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, you’ll work closely with the CEO to devise the organisation’s fundraising strategy as they enter a positive and ambitious new five-year plan.
There is a very well-established trust and foundation fundraising programme, which you’ll work to continue and expand, building on existing relationships and spotting opportunities to create new partnerships with relevant funders. Using creativity, you will secure multiyear unrestricted six-figure grants from an array of grantmakers as you continue the diversification of this income stream.
The charity is continuing the expansion of its fundraising strategy to incorporate new income streams, a project you’ll spearhead with the launch of digital fundraising. You’ll target individual givers to open up new revenue sources through digital sources as you tap into the goodwill for the charity and its work across the nation.
Who we are looking for.

The Organisation
ImpactEd Group consists of 3 discrete, but complementary, business units:
- ImpactEd Evaluation works with schools and organisations to analyse the impact of programmes and interventions to help partners do more of what works and less of what doesn’t.
- ImpactEd Consulting offers strategic and operational support for its partners, to address challenges and underpin carefully managed growth.
- The Engagement Platform (TEP) measures school and teacher engagement to support sustainable working cultures.
Since being founded in 2017, ImpactEd has worked with thousands of schools and hundreds of organisations, serving more than a quarter of a million pupils annually. We are a growing and skilled team of over 30 people. Our strategy commits to systemic impact by helping our partners to make better decisions and empowering our team to make decisions on behalf of the organisation as part of our aspirations for employee ownership.
The Opportunity
This role sits within our Evaluation unit in our Impact Partnerships team, who work with education organisations such as charities, universities and education technology companies (our ‘impact partners’). Our work focuses on helping these organisations to design and deliver evaluations, and to build their capacity for impact evaluation.
We are looking for a candidate who can support the team internally with a variety of delivery and administrative processes, working directly with our schools and partners to support their evaluation journey. This will include supporting new schools through their onboarding and data collection processes and monitoring their usage of our digital platform, the School Impact Platform. You will also be responsible for liaising with schools to schedule focus groups with teachers and pupils and organise these events accordingly, and supporting colleagues with facilitating data collection and analysis, which will include reporting processes and creating surveys which form part of our evaluation work with schools.
The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to apply for our new professional development pathway, launching this summer. On this two-year scheme, a small cohort will rotate between our practices, gaining wider experience within strategy, evaluation and operational development within the education and social enterprise space.
About You
We are looking for some of the following attributes, though you might be more experienced in some areas than others, and open to a range of backgrounds:
-
Understanding and experience of the UK education system
-
Experience of quantitative and qualitative data analysis (using Excel is preferred, and this doesn’t need to be highly advanced) and report writing
-
Experience of working within an administrative or customer service/partner focused role
-
Track record of effective process and project management.
As well as this, you are likely to be most successful in the role if you:
-
Communicate clearly and persuasively, both written and verbally
-
Have exceptional attention to detail and enjoy setting up and working to clear processes
-
Are analytical and happy to spend time reviewing research literature or scrutinising data
Are entrepreneurial and solution-focused: you can think on your feet and adapt to change.
Why Us?
As an organisation we care deeply about creating a meaningful place to work and supporting people to grow personally and professionally. These are reflected in our organisational values and our commitments to:
-
Agile and flexible working: responsive management, flexible hours, hybrid or fully remote working
-
Personal excellence: we invest significantly in professional development, including an individual CPD budget, and formal and informal training and support
-
Mental health and wellbeing: access to health and wellbeing advice and free therapist support.
Diversity and inclusion at ImpactEd Group
As a growing organisation we are committed to:
-
Becoming increasingly representative of the sector and geographies that we operate in
-
Providing a positive experience of work as part of an inclusive culture led by our organisational values
-
Maintaining an annual EDI action plan - led by the internal team and supported by a Board sponsor.
What to expect from the recruitment process:
-
We use a recruitment system, Applied, which debiases the recruitment process and all applications are anonymised until the point of interview
-
We implement a standardised interview template and competencies matrix.
