The Magistrates’ Association is the membership organisation for magistrates in England and Wales. Magistrates are the backbone of our justice system and we’re the only independent organisation that supports, champions and advocates for them.
One of the ways we do this is by sharing our members’ stories and achievements, as well as their concerns and issues, with key decision makers, the media and the wider public. That’s where you come in.
We’re looking for a new Media and Communications Officer, so if you’re a talented writer, PR expert and team player with a strong instinct for storytelling and outstanding attention to detail, we’d love to hear from you.
It’s an exciting time to be joining us. In the last year-and-a-half, we’ve turbo-charged our media relations and have more than quadrupled the volume and value of our media coverage in that time. We’re becoming the go-to organization for the media looking for comment on magistrates and the wider justice system and we want to build on this, to further raise awareness of the vital work that magistrates – our members – do, and by doing this to better promote ourselves and our services to members, potential members, other stakeholders and the wider public.
It’s an interesting and varied job. On any day, you might be:
• Working with the chief executive and policy colleagues to plan our next big media campaign
• Brainstorming ideas for new blogs and news items for the website or magazine
• Managing and producing one of our two email newsletters for members
• Reaching out to the media to brief them on a story we want to promote
• Interviewing members for stories
• Creating and curating content for our website
• Planning and writing posts for our X and LinkedIn social media accounts
• Evaluating the success of a recent campaign or media push, and considering how we might do even better next time.

Position Overview:
At CPI we believe people are at the heart of our success. We are seeking a Grants Officer (Associate) based in Europe to join our CPI Europe (CPIE) team. Your role is critical in ensuring the smooth delivery of the AI Opportunity Fund. The Role: Family Co-ordinator (Domestic Abuse Lead)
This vital role leads the delivery of Home-Start Lambeth's domestic abuse work, with a particular focus on empowering survivors to recover and build brilliant new lives for themselves and their children. You will be responsible for managing and delivering the Freedom Programme, recruiting attendees, and continuously developing the program to meet the evolving needs of survivors. You will also oversee volunteer-delivered support to families in their homes to ensure it is targeted and effective in helping families achieve their goals.
Key Responsibilities:
· Leading Domestic Abuse Support: Spearhead Home-Start Lambeth's domestic abuse initiatives, including the development and delivery of the Freedom Programme, ensuring it effectively supports survivors.
· Empowering Survivors: Facilitate recovery and growth for survivors of domestic abuse, helping them build a new life for them and their children.
· Family Assessment and Support: Assess the needs of referred families and oversee volunteer-delivered support to achieve family goals.

CSAN is the official agency of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference, tackling the root causes of poverty and injustice affecting people in England and Wales. We’re facing a steep rise in poverty and significant pressures on social, economic and church resources. In 2021, CSAN launched its strategy to extend the social mission of the Church in a post-COVID society. As our Senior Officer for Migration, you will help to raise awareness of migration issues from the perspective of Catholic Social Teaching and lead on our Ambassadors Programme against Human Trafficking and Modern Slavery, as well as prepare briefings and campaign responses to Government legislation.
Over the last 20 years, CSAN has established a network of 50 diocesan and direct service charities, with a combined annual expenditure on social mission estimated at £400m, excluding the work of schools and religious congregations. Our members build up local community life in diverse ways, and many of them support individuals in difficulty, including with housing, prison and detention, social isolation, ill-health, violence, disability, employment, care, therapeutic and welfare support.
The key responsibilities of the Senior Migration Officer are:
1. To provide timely information to the CSAN team and the network on UK Government resettlement programmes and legislation on immigration.
2. To support CSAN’s work to improve public policy and practice on immigration, with compelling evidence from our network, and enabling effective participation in advocacy for a humane system.

About the role
Each of the Support Network Coordinators have the responsibility for delivering, maintaining, and expanding the support services available to spinal cord injured (SCI) people and their region of the UK.
The post coordinates two vital parallel strands:
- In your region, to reach and support newly and long-term spinal cord injured people and their families developing a strong partnership with all available specialist services, charity and business partners; managing a dedicated team of volunteers as well as providing direct support to SCI people with more complex support needs.
- Nationally, working to facilitate the link between SCI people and SIA and the network of services; referring SCI people and their families to our clinical / health expert support teams and advocacy services; working with the Digital Engagement team to build on-line links to regional partners in your area; supporting fundraising, campaigns and communications.
Duties and Responsibilities

- Building strong relationships – you’ll be talking to everyone from people with SCI and their families, to healthcare professionals, solicitors and partners who deliver key services.

About the Role
