About the Role
The role of the Media Officer is to support Reprieve’s communications through traditional and social media, in support of the organisation’s strategic and fundraising objectives. You will be responsible for building relationships with journalists, providing media advice to Reprieve staff, and working with colleagues to ensure external messaging is consistent in quotes, briefings, social media content, and on Reprieve’s website. You will help to find and develop stories, collaborating with journalists and external partners on media that has an impact: revealing human rights abuses, shaping policy and raising the profile of our clients.
The successful candidate will have excellent writing and communication skills, and a proven ability to produce exceptional work under pressure. They will have a deep understanding of all forms of media and how to use these platforms for maximum impact, and a track record of securing media coverage on challenging issues.
Length and Salary
This is a full-time role on a one-year fixed term contract, subject to extension depending on funding. The annual salary is £42,193 per annum less any required deductions for income tax and national insurance.
This role is based in Reprieve’s London office. Reprieve operates a hybrid working model and we require staff to work 40% of their working hours from the London office and the rest of the week from home.

Core Purpose
This leadership role is part of the Make-A-Wish UK Extended Leadership Team (ExLT) and is responsible for shaping and driving Make-A-Wish UK’s brand, communications and entertainment strategy. Ensuring the charity is powerfully positioned in the hearts and minds of the public as an organisation to support and donate to.
Leading a team of expert communications, content and digital specialists, the role will champion a strategic and scalable approach to brand, content, and communications. It will ensure our messaging cuts through across all internal and external touchpoints, consistently reflecting our mission to grant a wish for every eligible child.
The Head of Brand, Communications and Entertainment will also oversee the strategic development of key entertainment relationships, including celebrity talent, influencers, media partners, and broadcasters, to amplify our brand presence and support wider organisational objectives.
As a key member of the ExLT, this role will collaborate across departments to strengthen Make-A-Wish UK’s profile, build meaningful connections with stakeholders, and inspire audiences to engage with and support our cause.
Essential Criteria
- Proven experience (5+ years) within senior level brand role including Head of Department or communications/strategy roles, ideally within the charity or not for profit sector.
- Demonstrated success in developing and delivering integrated communications strategies that drive awareness, engagement, and support.
- Proven experience leading organisations through change and successfully embedding new delivery models to improve impact, efficiency, or engagement
- Knowledge of how to develop a consistent brand voice and style.

Key Responsibilities
Brand Leadership
- Lead the development and implementation of Make-A-Wish UK’s brand strategy, ensuring it reflects our mission, values, and commitment to children and families.
- Act as brand guardian, maintaining consistency and integrity across all communications and channels, and ensuring alignment with Make-A-Wish International guidelines.
- Use audience insights and market trends to evolve brand positioning, ensuring it remains relevant, compelling, and inclusive.
- Champion brand understanding across the organisation, enabling teams, volunteers, and partners to represent Make-A-Wish UK authentically and effectively.

Communications Strategy
- Develop and deliver a communications strategy that builds public awareness, deepens understanding of our mission, and inspires support.
- Lead the creation of impactful campaigns and storytelling that highlight the transformative power of a wish and the voices of children, families, and supporters.
- Lead on providing expert guidance to teams on integrated communications planning and execution, ensuring alignment across all public-facing activity.
- Manage crisis communications, safeguarding the charity’s reputation and ensuring clear, compassionate responses.
- Lead the development of a scalable and strategic framework for the delivery of organisational campaigns including service delivery, volunteering, fundraising and internal communications.

Entertainment & Talent Engagement
- Strategically manage relationships with entertainment partners, influencers, and public figures to amplify our message and support wish granting, fundraising, and events.

- Support the Talent Manager to cultivate new strategic partnerships with agencies and representatives to expand opportunities and increase visibility, ensuring alignment with our values and goals.
Digital & Media Engagement
- Lead the charity’s digital communications strategy, ensuring a vibrant, engaging presence across all platforms.
- Oversee the integration of digital marketing to support fundraising, awareness, and community building,
- Build and maintain relationships with media outlets, influencers, and partners to maximise positive exposure and advocacy.
Team Leadership & Collaboration
- Provide inspiring leadership and development for the Brand, Communications & Entertainment team, fostering a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing culture.
- Support and role-model cross-functional collaboration, ensuring communications activity aligns with organisational priorities and supports other teams effectively.
- Represent Brand, Communication and Entertainment at the Extended Leadership Team (ExLT), contributing to cross-charity strategy, insight sharing and project delivery.
- Represent Make-A-Wish UK and nurture key relationships as required.
Measurement & Insight
- Work with the Head of Insights and Innovation to develop and apply insights to inform strategic planning.
- Define and track key performance indicators to assess the effectiveness of brand and communications activity, presenting to the senior Leadership Team and Board as required.
- Capture and report on data and learnings, embedding continuous improvement and sharing best practice across the organisation.

Summary of the role:
The Income Generation Support Officer will provide day-to-day administrative departmental support and support to the department Director to ensure the successful delivery of the organisation’s operations in an efficient manner. This role will focus on generating reports, tracking progress, and ensuring all the necessary processes relating to compliance, finance and HR are completed in a timely and accurate manner.
About the Role:
- Maintain and improve departmental filing systems to achieve maximum efficiency.
- Prepare purchase orders and document payments according to Muslim Aid’s financial procedure and in conjunction with the Finance team to ensure speedy payment of invoices for internal / external stakeholders.
- Undertake small-scale project work including researching, analysing and recommending next steps.
- Provide support to the IGM management team in responding to correspondence, booking meetings, minute-taking, planning and supporting events, organising travel and preparing travel itineraries and relevant tasks as required.
- Track Managers delivery of action points to ensure timeframes and outcomes are met, escalating to Head or Director of IGM for further action as appropriate.
- Undertake full inbox and extensive diary management, ensuring an effective use of time and preparation of information in advance. Sort, redirect and action emails and review an effective ‘bring up’ system to brief and prepare the Director Income Generation and Marketing for meetings / events.

ABOUT THE ROLE
This role supports our work to run our programme by ensuring that we recruit and onboard enough volunteers to become our wonderful mentors.
As our Volunteer Recruitment Officer, you will be the first point of contact for people volunteering to be mentors. You will ensure that our volunteers receive the highest level of customer service and have a great experience in all contacts with our charity.
Working closely with the Volunteer Operations Leader, you will implement our volunteer onboarding journey, leading on pipeline outputs to support volunteers from application to active mentoring.

Key responsibilities
Volunteer Recruitment pipeline:
· Respond to all incoming enquiries and volunteer applications in a timely manner and in line with the charity's recruitment processes
· Responsible for clear communication to all prospective mentors in the pipeline, always giving a high level of customer service to volunteers and answering queries in a friendly professional manner
· Ensure every prospective mentor fully understands the benefits of volunteering with The Kids Network and has a first-class onboarding experience.
· Conduct volunteer interviews on a weekly basis to meet demand
· Call volunteers on a regular basis to check in on their progress and supporting them with their volunteer journey
· Maintain excellent data hygiene, ensuring at all times the charities CRM salesforce is being updated to ensure the pipeline is maintained
· Maintain the organisation vetting platform, following up with all volunteers who are stuck at various stages of the vetting checks process
· Carry out all the training admin pre and post the training day, working with the Volunteer Operations Leader to ensure this runs smoothly with high attendance
· Deliver 1 day weekend volunteer training alongside our Delivery Team when required.
Volunteer Recruitment Outreach:
· Maintain our digital recruitment streams
· Understand the communities we work in, working with the Volunteer Operations Leader to establishing links with community groups and local opportunities to attract different demographics
· Attend volunteer recruitment fairs and networking opportunities to promote volunteering with The Kids Network.
· Support with the admin and set up for those wanting to volunteer through a placement
· Follow the charity’s communication guidance and support communications work to attract and retain volunteers
· Feed ideas into and help to create content for emails being sent to volunteers in the pipeline and potential volunteers outside the organisation
· Attend mentee and mentor group activity sessions from time to time to better understand the purpose of our work
· Be an ambassador for The Kids Network
Safer Recruitment & Safeguarding:
· Assess new incoming applications in line with suitability for the role and scoring criteria
· Vet volunteers at all stages of the recruitment process, including interview and training in line with the charities safer recruitment policy
· Collect references and conduct DBS and oversees checks in line with our safer recruitment practices

As Regular Giving Officer, you will play a critical role in growing and maintaining income at the Hospice of St Francis and in positioning us as the local charity of choice amongst our community.
Reporting into the Head of Philanthropy and working closely with the rest of the Fundraising Department, as well as with the Communications and Volunteering Departments, you will personally manage and grow the Hospice of St Francis’s Regular and Mid-Level Giving Programme, also known as Friends of St Francis.
You will forge strong working relationships and collaborate closely with the Communications Department, responsible for Appeal Giving, and the Wellbeing Department, responsible for in-memory giving and the Light up a Life programme, together establishing an integrated individual giving programme.
The Friends of St Francis was established in 2024, following a full review of the programme and has just marked its first anniversary. This role will be responsible for reviewing, developing and implementing a strategy that will ensure the retention and recruitment of regular givers through refining the offering and providing a thoughtful engagement plan. You will also be responsible for developing a new mid-value Friends segment, ensuring its alignment with the Major Donor programme and other offerings.
With an eye to growing income, you will also explore and implement options to grow the supporter base, including payroll giving and testing the conversion of one-time donors. You will also consider options to optimise the programme for the digital age, taking into consideration the demographic of our supporters.
This is an exciting role with lots of potential to utilise your skills and test and implement different strategies to grow the regular giving base at the Hospice of St Francis.

Role Description
The Safeguarding Officer will lead and oversee all aspects of safeguarding within St Edmundsbury Cathedral, ensuring that the Cathedral remains a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment for children, young people, and vulnerable adults.
You will be responsible for ensuring that the Cathedral meets all statutory safeguarding obligations and complies fully with the Church of England’s national safeguarding policies, diocesan frameworks, and relevant legislation. This includes proactively identifying potential risks, responding appropriately to safeguarding concerns, and ensuring effective reporting and case management in partnership with the Diocesan Safeguarding Team and statutory agencies.
Beyond compliance, this role is about embedding a culture of care, accountability, and transparency across the Cathedral community. You will support clergy, staff, and volunteers to understand their safeguarding responsibilities, ensure safer recruitment and training practices, and provide guidance and reassurance when safeguarding issues arise.
By acting as a source of expert advice, leadership, and advocacy, the Safeguarding Officer will help the Cathedral community uphold the highest standards of safety, dignity, and pastoral care, ensuring that everyone, regardless of age, background, or circumstance, can participate fully and confidently in Cathedral life.
The Cathedral Safeguarding Officer has operational authority within the Cathedral (subject to agreement with the Diocesan Safeguarding Officer with respect to responding to concerns and allegations against Church officers) for the following responsibilities, arranged according to the Church of England’s National Safeguarding Standards.

Key Responsibilities
Strategic leadership
- Act as the Cathedral’s primary safeguarding lead, providing authoritative advice and operational oversight to the Chapter, leadership team, clergy, staff and volunteers.
- Ensure compliance with national Church of England safeguarding guidance, diocesan requirements and all relevant statutory legislation.
- Develop, maintain and drive a measurable safeguarding action plan and improvement programme, ensuring policies and practice are implemented consistently across Cathedral activities.

Policy & risk management
- Review, update and implement the Cathedral’s safeguarding policies and procedures on a regular schedule (and sooner where guidance or case learning requires change).
- Lead safeguarding risk assessments for services, events, volunteer activities and external bookings; provide straightforward, action-focused mitigation plans for event organisers and hirers.
- Conduct audits and spot-checks to ensure practice aligns with policy and report findings with recommended improvements.
- Ensure contractors, partner organisations and hirers meet required safeguarding standards and that any safeguarding responsibilities are set out contractually where appropriate.
Additional duties and professional development
- Provide clear, timely advice within agreed working hours and support any out-of-hours arrangements for urgent safeguarding concerns as agreed with Chapter.
