We're looking for a proactive and organised Direct Marketing and Fundraising Officer to support our Public Fundraising team. In this varied role, you'll help deliver engaging fundraising campaigns, manage supporter journeys, and ensure our fundraising efforts run smoothly.
You'll also provide key administrative and project support to the team and the Director of Fundraising and Marketing, with the chance to develop your skills in digital fundraising, data reporting, and campaign coordination. About You
You are a highly organised and detail-oriented individual with proven administrative experience in a fast-paced environment. You’ll be a confident communicator with strong written and verbal skills, able to draft professional documents and liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, digital collaboration tools and CRM systems is essential. You’ll also have good numeracy skills and experience maintaining financial records. A natural team player, you’ll be adaptable, able to prioritise a demanding workload, and remain calm under pressure — particularly during emergency fundraising appeals.
Key responsibilities:
· Assist in the coordination and delivery of public fundraising activities during emergency appeals, including managing content and materials, liaising with member agencies, and supporting with reporting and updates for senior stakeholders.
· Provide high-quality administrative support to the Fundraising and Marketing Director and wider team, including diary management, meeting coordination, minute-taking, and general team logistics.
· Help develop and deliver fundraising materials across direct marketing and digital channels, gather content, and ensure assets are approved and shared with key stakeholders.
· Maintain and update fundraising budgets, process invoices, and support post-appeal reviews with external suppliers and partners.
· Contribute to digital activities by supporting basic analytics, user journey testing, and content creation for platforms like YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok, with opportunities to take part in digital innovation workshops.

As a marketing and communications executive, you’ll be responsible for creating inspiring marketing and digital communications campaigns that drive action, bring in income and increase our impact. You’ll plan, research and develop products, deliver creative content for marketing and communications campaigns, study customer behaviour and work collaboratively to execute impactful multi-channel communications campaigns. You will have a passion for all marketing and digital communications content, including email, paid marketing, websites and social media. You’ll analyse data, manage projects and run and evaluate our campaigns. With a strong focus on audience and insights, you’ll have a willingness to get stuck into all areas.
This role will work within a multi-disciplinary environment, make strategic recommendations to a wide range of colleagues, lead cross-departmental and cross-organisational project teams to deliver against the organisation’s goals and get to know the policy areas that we focus on.

STRUCTURE AND PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
As Deputy Director, Digital Fundraising you will be based in the London office or work remotely and will be part of the Mass Markets Global Support Team. The Deputy Director will play a pivotal role in advancing IRC’s global digital fundraising efforts by providing consultation and hands-on support across paid media, creative development, analytics, and process improvement. Serving as a strategic adviser to country teams, they will guide campaign planning, platform strategy, and performance measurement while handling key relationships with digital agencies and platform partners. They will also support creative process refinement, champion digital ads testing and optimisation, and ensure compliance with data privacy standards. Through thorough analysis and cross-functional collaboration, the role will help refine attribution models, enhance reporting infrastructure, and drive continuous improvement across digital programs. Additionally, the Deputy Director will lead special projects to streamline operations and foster knowledge sharing across the global digital network.
SCOPE AND AUTHORITY
Authority:
In this role you will provide consultation and guidance on spending decisions about how best to utilise IRC budget on paid digital platforms to maximise income, and responsibility for suggesting, planning and delivering new and engaging ways to introduce prospects to the IRC brand.
Responsibility for Resources:
- Oversee Digital donor acquisition market support and cross market pilots - assessing the market needs and requirements and working with HQ functions to support local market fundraising goals and objectives
- Oversee and assess potential digital acquisition external opportunities available to IRC and advise fundraising markets on implementation.
- Coordination and oversee the work of any and all agencies, freelancers and external consultants required to deliver on the agreed strategic plan.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1) Digital Media Consultation & Support— 40%
- Act as subject-matter guide and adviser on paid platforms (Meta, Google, programmatic and others) for digital country teams.
- Guide efforts to translate digital strategy into campaign and audience recommendations, investment levels and bidding strategies, and measurement approaches.
- Work with internal MarTech colleagues and external digital media agencies to ensure operational readiness - to include pixel/tagging, audiences, budgets, trafficking, and more.
- Aid in the development and coordination of digital agency RFPs, such as drafting scopes of work, gathering team inputs, and contributing to the evaluation and selection process.
- Liaise with digital media consultants and agencies as needed to support digital teams.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for global digital consultants, agencies, and platform representatives (e.g., Meta, Google, TikTok), managing relationships to ensure timely access to trends, product updates, and optimisation opportunities.
- Provide hands-on support to digital teams by troubleshooting issues, testing roadmap components, and resolving critical blockers to help ensure seamless campaign execution.

The PDA Society is looking to recruit its first ever Head of role and we believe the right person could be transformative for our organisation. We are looking for a goal oriented, entrepreneurial individual who can help us maximise our fundraised and earned income through effective relationships and online communications. Over the next three years, we must significantly expand our free services and support offers for the people who most need them – and this role will be entrusted with ensuring we can afford to do that.
You will be part of a fast moving, high performing team who are determined to make a difference. This is a small organisation where senior team members do as well as plan. So while you’ll be setting direction and leading strategy, you’ll also be rolling your sleeves up and delivering directly alongside colleagues. You’ll be supported by a small communications team and a small budget to commission trust applications, and you’ll hold responsibility for maintaining trust funder relationships and ensuring reporting is timely and accurate.
