Sands exists to save babies’ lives and ensure that anyone affected by pregnancy loss or baby death receives the support and care they need.

This role plays a pivotal part in planning and delivering marketing and communications activities to key audiences, such as supporters, volunteers, journalists, ambassadors and staff. Integrated marketing campaigns are integral to Sands’ growth and are key to driving brand awareness, reach, engagement, income growth and social change.

The duties of the role include writing, editing, co-ordinating and publishing content across various channels, including Sands’ website, social media, email, and print and online marketing materials. You will need to work closely with other internal teams to plan and implement communications and marketing campaigns to drive awareness or income, while progressively improving organisational understanding of what works for different audiences.

You will also support the Marketing & Campaigns Manager in the delivery of our major integrated campaigns and appeals, and work closely with other members of the Engagement team to support all communications aims and outcomes.

An excellent communicator and team player, you will have a sound knowledge and experience of social media, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and related platforms. With paid online marketing experience (e.g. in PPC or Social Media), comfortable using digital tools (e.g. Google Analytics) and be able to write engaging copy with good editorial skills. 

This role will specialise in leading marketing and communications support of the Research, Education and Policy department, which covers a range of work including our work to save babies’ lives, training and education, and influencing policy through campaigning and advocacy.

The role will also work across a variety of other teams, projects, campaigns and activities.

Voluntary Action Harrow is looking for a Health Inequalities & Community Engagement Officer to work within our Stronger Communities team. Voluntary Action Harrow Co-operative work with the local community providing information, training and guidance.

Based in Harrow, we are a not-for-profit co-operative owned by our workers. We have in-depth knowledge of the local area and of who’s doing what. Our members collectively have over 35 years’ experience in the voluntary, community and social enterprise sector, specialising in capacity building in a variety of different organisational development areas.

About the role:

The role of Triage and Early Interventions Officer (TEIO) is a fast paced one which requires the post holder to answer incoming calls and make outgoing calls to victims of crime and those accessing the service in Cumbria.

As a TEIO, you will;

• answer incoming calls, speaking to those affected by crime & manage a caseload
• make outgoing calls, assess needs and risks and action plan with callers
• work on the case management system to allocate cases, provide administration on cases and assess/ensure data quality
• liaise with other agencies where required to find out more information, give information or make referrals or give signposting information
• work with the wider team to ensure an effective, trauma informed service is given to those affected by crime

You will be a confident, compassionate and empathic person who can work well under pressure. You will be speaking to people who may be upset, angry or in emotional difficulties and will need to be composed, empathic and be able to quickly assess situations.

You will be confident in using your IT skills to work on a case management system, access phone and online systems, email and Microsoft Office programmes.

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The main responsibility of this role is to assist the Head of Resources in the efficient and smooth running of financial functional activities of the charity.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Process and prepare financial and business forms for the purpose of checking account balances, facilitating purchases, etc.

2. Perform routine calculations to produce analyses and reports as requested by the Head of Resources and assisting in developing and maintaining all financial reporting within the charity.

3. Assisting in the preparation and maintenance of the charity’s annual income and expenditure budget.

4. Assisting in monthly bank reconciliations and other balance sheet accounts.

5. Dealing with finance related queries from staff, senior management, supporters, and suppliers.

6. Maintenance and reconciliation of direct debits, standing orders and other online donations.

7. Supporting the financial controller in the planning and preparation of statutory accounts and the annual audit.

8. Ensuring accurate gift aid records are maintained for supporters and conducting the annual gift aid claim.

             a.   All income and expenditure are properly approved, banked and processed in a timely manner.

About Us

Unfold is an established local charity (previously known as Westminster Befriend a Family), supporting young people and families to reach their potential, identifying and achieving their goals through mentoring. We support families and young people in Westminster and its neighbouring boroughs with mentoring programmes and peer support groups for women with children.

For 30 years, we have been providing support to vulnerable families who are at risk of social exclusion. Working with a network of trained and DBS checked volunteers, we offer mentoring to women with children and young people, building independence and getting them where they want to be.

Role Overview:​

• Provide infrastructure support to local voluntary and community sector (VCS) groups and social enterprises. ​

• Engage in one-on-one and outreach meetings to better support community needs. ​

• Develop and manage VCSE networks focusing on key themes like Children, Families, and Young People, Health and Wellbeing, Digital Isolation, and Safeguarding. ​

Key Responsibilities:​

​

• Develop and oversee the implementation of detailed work plans for the development and funding advice service. ​

• Assist VCS organisations with monitoring, reviewing, and evaluating their impact. ​

• Provide guidance on funding streams, review proposals, and offer feedback. ​

• Advise on legal structures, policies, and charity registration processes. ​

• Planned and delivered training programs in collaboration with EHCVS staff or external trainers. ​

• Promote best practices and support the development of business plans, fundraising strategies, and quality assurance policies. ​

 Networks ​

Network Development:​

​

• Lead the development and promotion of a VCSE network in Ealing. ​

• Maintain and expand the membership database. ​

• Organise and facilitate network meetings and produce a monthly E-News. ​

• Support the development of local VCS networks and ensure effective communication through regular news updates and an online community calendar. ​

Strategic Development ​

Strategic Planning:​​

• Develop strategic initiatives to enhance the capacity and sustainability of VCS organisations. ​

• Identify emerging trends and opportunities in the third sector to inform strategic planning. ​

• Work with the senior management team to integrate strategic priorities into operational plans. ​

• Facilitate the development of long-term strategies for growth and impact in the community. ​

Partnership Development:​

• ​

• Create partnerships with employers, sector bodies, trusts, and foundations. ​

• Develop bespoke partnership proposals and support partners in their engagement with EHCVS. ​

• Act as an account manager for key relationships, ensuring ongoing communication and collaboration. ​

• Report to partners on the impact of their contributions and provide stewardship activities.​

• ​

Fundraising and Income Generation:​

• ​

• Lead the strategic planning for income generation, focusing on innovation projects and core organisational costs. ​

• Manage and update the funding pipeline, seeking opportunities with corporates, trusts, and foundations. ​

• Work with the CEO and team to develop new and existing projects for funding. ​

• Write and submit funding proposals, ensuring alignment with EHCVS goals.​

Support to Development Team:​

• ​

• Collaborate across the Funding and Group Development Team to meet service delivery targets. ​

• Provide strategic input and support to ensure the success of development initiatives. ​

​

Other Duties ​

​

​

• Assist in producing briefings, information, and web material. ​

• Assist in producing monitoring and evaluation information. ​

• Assist in developing and organising events. ​

• Represent Ealing & Hounslow CVS at meetings and events relevant to your project. ​

• Undertake other related project duties as may be required. ​

• Work in cooperation with other members of the staff team of EHCVS and attend appropriate internal and external meetings. ​

• Support EHCVS with other project developments and funding applications to funders. ​

• Undertake occasional additional duties commensurate with the responsibilities of the post as identified by EHCVS’s Board of Trustees. ​

Monitoring and Evaluation ​

• Record monitoring information; review the progress of current projects on a weekly basis and manage upwards. ​

• ​

• Prepare written evaluation reports for EHCVS projects and services. ​

• ​

• Support the funding and development manager and development services manager in monitoring information collated from the service as and when required. ​

Corporate Responsibilities ​

• ​​The postholder will be employed by Ealing & Hounslow CVS and supervised and managed by the CEO. ​

• ​Participate in regular supervision, team meetings, and organisation-wide staff meetings. ​

• ​An individual induction and training plan will be agreed upon. ​

DETAILS

• Salary: GBP 60,000-65,000 depending on experience (the range is aligned to London cost of living and would be adjusted according to the appointee's location)
• Location: Flexible. But must be prepared to work at least four hours per day 1300 – 1700 Coordinated Universal Time.  Location in London or Berlin may be an advantage.

The Business & Human Rights Resource Centre is seeking a Head of Communications to lead our high-performing communications team. The successful candidate will lead strategic, high-impact external communications across the organisation. They will work closely with our global team across 30 countries involved in research and analysis. They will bring talent, enthusiasm, knowledge and experience. This role currently manages a team of five and reports to the Executive Director. The communications team is tasked to ensure strategic and effective media, social media, and delivery of our digital platform to drive change.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic communications: Lead the strategic evolution of our global communications as a critical component of our strategies to make change happen. Drive impact by building strategic media and digital outreach that amplifies the work of ourselves and allies, and influences key audiences. Work across our global team to develop a shared understanding of grand strategy, key audiences, the fast-changing context, and how communications can drive positive change. With the management team, set the organisation’s communications strategy and ensure we have the right skills, knowledge, and connections to deliver it. Collaborate with regional and thematic leads to ensure our communications strategies help deliver the human rights impact our programmes seek with allies.
• Lead the communications team: Support a strong team, nurturing their skills to inspire effective and high-impact communications, with an emphasis on digital first. Ensure the work of the team is expertly planned and executed within budget and meets donor requirements. Deliver our performance management system throughout the year to ensure support, well-being, and accountability. Work with the Senior Management Team to manage strategic and operational opportunities and risks.
• Drive and execute innovative, advocacy-oriented communications: Work with senior management, regional and thematic teams to drive a dynamic approach to communications, alongside spotting proactive and reactive opportunities, building higher-level relationships with journalists and partners, and developing tactical approaches. Play an active role in executing impactful, advocacy-oriented communications strategies for key products and events.
• Digital action platform and technology: Work with the Web Content and Digital Officer to manage the development of the Resource Centre’s leading multi-functional digital platform, and our substantial data as compelling evidence. Develop an understanding of the organisation’s target audiences and ensure we deliver features that effectively support them to effectively organise and present their research data and promote human rights in business.
• Programme design and fundraising: Work with our development (fundraising) team and programme leads to ensure communications, and digital technology work is built into project design and budget, and that funders’ information needs are well-served.

Key competencies and attributes

Strategic communication: At least 5 years’ experience delivering top class communications and expert understanding of how strategic communications deliver change. Demonstrable experience in strategy design and execution. Sharp news sense and editorial judgement; strong grasp of the power of social media to make change happen; and a global perspective to communications.

People manager: At least 3 years’ experience in line management. Experience in nurturing and sustaining a high performing team that thrives in a diverse, and global context. Demonstrable success in supporting project teams to deploy communications strategically for impact.

Project manager: Track record of leading and/or implementing complex communications projects including planning, execution, and evaluation. Demonstratable success planning communications for a busy organisation working closely with allies.

Digital technology & data: Experience of design and delivery of website, digital tools, and data to make change happen. Experience of working with developers to manage and maintain a website.

Human rights, and economic justice expertise: Familiarity with social justice or human rights issues and a willingness to keep up to date. Experience communicating economic justice and human rights issues desirable.

Team player: Experience of, and commitment to, working in high-performing teams that are highly collaborative and focused on outcomes. Experience of working with colleagues remotely, and in multicultural and diverse working environments desirable.

Networking: Track record of developing strategic relationships to enhance communications and advocacy efforts, e.g. civil society partners, consultants, journalists, opinion-formers. Experience building relationships of trust and joint action with allied organisations is strongly desirable.

Languages: Must be fluent in English. Additionally, French, German, Chinese, Arabic, Spanish, Portuguese, or Russian language skills would also be an asset (all languages of our digital action platform).

Summary of role responsibilities 

• Develop, implement and manage a dynamic communications plan for Solving Kids’ Cancer UK that encompasses the three key pillars of our work, across all communication channels;  

• Lead on the development and implementation of online marketing campaigns to raise wider awareness, demonstrate our impact, grow our income, and position our organisation as a thought leader in paediatric oncology;  

• Develop and grow our charity’s’ media presence and profile;  

• Raise the charity’s profile and reach through the generation of new online and offline audiences, followers and supporters.
