Save the Children UK has an exciting opportunity for a Marketing Executive (Loyalty), with direct marketing experience, who is keen to deliver effective retention and income growth marketing campaigns, to join our Public Income and Engagement team.
Please note: This role is London based with an expectation to be in our Farringdon office once a week on a Thursday, with other in person days planned throughout the year.

About you
As our Marketing Executive (Loyalty) in our Loyalty Squad you will play an important role in driving brilliant supporter-centric marketing campaigns to raise crucial support for Save the Children UK. Working closely with Marketing Managers, you will contribute to the development and execution of effective retention and income growth activity. Your focus will be on fostering deep connections with our supporters, prompting action, and driving income by increasing both donor volume and value.
In this role, you will:
- Collaborate with Marketing Managers to deliver compelling multi-channel campaigns that drive income and retention targets.
- Utilise various marketing channels, including Direct Mail, Email, Telemarketing and SME to create engaging communication journeys for donors.
- Take ownership of specific aspects of the supporter experience to enhance engagement and drive long-term value.
- Contribute to the creation and delivery of key marketing materials across multiple channels and propositions.
- Liaise with external suppliers to ensure smooth campaign delivery and optimise results while prioritising a positive supporter experience.
- Maintain accurate records of campaign activity and performance, generating regular performance reports.
- Incorporate customer supporter insight and data analysis into marketing strategies, utilising a test-and-learn approach to continually improve acquisition outputs.
To be successful, it is important that you have:
- Previous experience in customer/supporter loyalty and retention marketing.
- Experience working on fundraising cash appeals or other income generating campaigns.
- Proficiency in delivering marketing initiatives across various channels, most notably Direct Mail, Email, Digital.
- Some experience with Telemarketing and SMS would be desirable but not essential.
- Demonstrated ability to grow existing supporter value through communication journeys, supporter experience enhancements, or donor care initiatives.
- Project management skills with a track record of supporting the delivery of complex projects on time and within budget.
- Experience collaborating with external partners, such as creative agencies, fulfilment houses, or telemarketing agencies.
- Familiarity with developing and delivering fundraising and marketing assets both online and offline, with knowledge of both data and print processes for direct marketing.
- Ability to utilise data and insights to inform marketing strategies, track results, manage budgets, and make data-driven decisions.

Ways of Working:

About the role
Becoming the Programme Marketing Manager at the Cherie Blair Foundation for Women is a fantastic opportunity to help drive progress for women entrepreneurs in low and middle income countries by engaging more people in our work.
The key purpose of this role is to effectively market our programmes to participants – chiefly our HerVenture business skills microlearning app and our sector-leading Mentoring Women in Business programme.
This will span three main projects:
· to successfully manage a marketing agency to effectively market the HerVenture app to women in South Africa (as part of a fixed-term project with active marketing ongoing until Mar ‘25);
· to successfully manage the same marketing agency to promote the app in Nigeria (as part of a separate fixed-term project with active marketing ongoing until Dec ‘24); and
· to effectively promote the opportunity to become a mentor to a woman entrepreneur through our Mentoring Women in Business programme to paying professionals worldwide. Your objective will be to secure 18+ paid mentors for the Nov ’24 programme intake and 20+ for the May ’25 intake.
Following the completion of the two HerVenture marketing projects, you will also lead other programme marketing initiatives in 2025. These will be determined in late 2024.
Following the May ’25 Mentoring intake you will deliver a strategy, harnessing your learning and analysis to outline an approach for marketing the programme to paying mentors in future.
You will also be called on to support other forms of programme marketing on an ad hoc basis, for example advising on development of corporate pitch decks, or co-designing materials for fundraising events.
This position reports directly to the Head of Communications and Marketing, however this is a highly collaborative role and you will also work closely with the Entrepreneurship programmes team and the Programme Funding team to develop and deliver plans and manage projects.
Our ideal candidate will be a knowledgeable and motivated marketer with experience in ‘selling’ professional development / online volunteering opportunities, and in managing agencies and contractors to deliver on fixed projects as aligned to good marketing practices. You should be highly organised and goals-driven, with a collaborative approach, a growth-oriented mindset, and a strong desire to harness the power of marketing to support women’s economic empowerment.

About the role

2. User journey optimisation
· Helping people find the right content based on data optimisations so that more people find what they need and understand what else the charity could offer them. Using HotJar for insights.
· Automated email journeys - Building customer journeys to support the Program pillars to build deeper relationships with people in our community.
3. Increasing reach and traffic generation
· Testing different low-cost digital reach opportunities.
· Including paid social, referral activities, calls to action across our channels, YouTube SEO and SEM. Working with an agency to optimise journeys from Google Grant, leading to clearly articulated actions (eg donations, sign-ups, click-throughs).
4. Testing to improve results continually
· Email AB testing - Deliver AB testing to inform future email AB tests.
· Plan AB testing for email marketing projects, for the website, and other projects as needed to improve conversion rates.
5. Digital project management
· Testing new digital versions of courses and tools. Project management of website updates.
6. Campaign support
· Leading, innovating and supporting advocacy, communications and fundraising campaigns as needed to increase reach, engagement and conversions.
7. Gathering community feedback
· Continue the plan to access regular community feedback to influence Hub improvements and other digital channel improvements.
8. Supplier collaboration
· Working with our suppliers to optimise collaboration, reduce cost and increase impact.
About you
Strong digital skills
• A proven track record of managing digital products/projects/programmes which create value for end-users.

Digital CRM Migration Specialist
We have an exciting opportunity with a 12-month fixed term contract where we are looking for an experienced digital marketer who is process and data driven. This role is integral to migrating digital systems and processes to a new CRM database, improving them as we optimise new functionality. This is working as part of a transformational project team to ensure Mencap is set for the future for supporter engagement.
As the Digital CRM Migration Specialist, you will be responsible for defining digital data points and mapping digital data flows through to the new CRM and Marketing Cloud.
