We are looking for a dynamic leader with proven fundraising experience to become our new Head of Fundraising, helping When You Wish Upon a Star to make magical memories for sick children. We have recently moved into a modern new office, have appointed a new CEO and are celebrating 35 years of Wish granting across the UK. So, it is an exciting time to join our dedicated team, some of whom work remotely or from our Scotland office.
Your key focus is to grow our income generation, allowing us to grant even more Wishes to children living with life threatening illness. The Head of Fundraising and their team play a huge part in helping us achieve this vision and, occasionally, have some direct engagement with delivering Wishes.
Reporting to the CEO, the Head of Fundraising will be responsible for developing, directing and delivering the fundraising strategy. You will be an inspirational leader; motivating the team to promote the Charity and successfully engage external stake holders, including both new and existing supporters, and develop long-term relationships through excellent stewardship.
The successful candidate will be able to manage legacy, grants & trusts, events, corporate and community fundraising. Ensuring that income targets are achieved, along with securing high value donors to support major events and campaigns. Using ThankQ CRM, you will be required to monitor fundraising performance and budget, produce reports, and presenting to the CEO and Trustees.

Main Purpose of the Role:
To be responsible for the implementation and day to day project management of the individual giving programme across both existing and new fundraising products, maintaining strong relationships with suppliers, members, volunteers and internal teams across Mothers’ Union to ensure the success of the appeals. As part of a small team you will be working closely with and under the direction of the Head of Individual Giving.
Key Responsibilities:
- To project manage multiple appeals delivering accurate campaigns on time, on budget to a high standard, meeting agreed targets.
- Analyse and interpret direct marketing campaign results, and produce regular reports, drawing conclusions, completing campaign reviews and making recommendations to improve future activity such as targeting and testing suggestions to improve performance of the programme and feed into longer term strategic plans.
- Ensure all materials produced are accurate and compliant with relevant data protection and gift aid legislation (where applicable). Undertaking all activities in line with best practice standards and processes as set out by the IoF, Fundraising Regulator and any other bodies as prompted by the Head of Individual Giving.
- Write campaign briefs including campaign objectives, creative, digital, print and production briefs, feeding into decisions on creative approaches, copy and all technical aspects of the direct marketing programmes
- Write or amend existing copy and proof-read accurately. Critique, manage and evaluate work by external or internal agencies to a high standard and high level of accuracy
- Lead contact for our face to face fundraising activity, from briefing, monitoring and reconciliation to delivering training and fulfilling requests, including coordination of visits to Mother's Union projects
- Lead on any challenge events or wider individual DIY fundraising or organisational income generating events as assigned, meeting agreed targets set by the Head of Individual Giving.
- Monitoring, managing and reporting of key KPIs including campaign income, spend and other performance metrics on a regular basis. Reporting to the Head of Individual Giving, highlighting variances and updating fundraising team reports making sure information is accurate and reconciled where necessary.
- Designing and delivering targeted training programmes for groups of fundraisers or members on behalf of Mothers’ Union as well as providing effective one-to-one campaign support as required.

Work Location/Hybrid Working Pattern
This role will be based at our Head Office in central London. Mothers’ Union operates a hybrid working model. Staff are required to work an aggregate minimum of 90 days per calendar year (pro rata for part timers) at our Head Office, Mary Sumner House in central London. Tuesdays are our anchor days where every staff member is expected to be at the office. The 90 days includes anchor Tuesdays. In addition, Thursday is a core working day where part time staff are expected to work, either at home or from the office as needed.

About the Legacy Manager role:
The Public Fundraising team are responsible for recruiting and stewarding new supporters in order to secure long-term income and growth. The fundraising team has real ambition to grow and develop, and Legacy and In-memory giving will form a key part of these plans.
You will lead on the development and implementation of a new Legacy & In Memoriam fundraising strategy that will

We have an exciting role as a fundraising officer to join our small but ambitious fundraising team. We are embarking on a significant capital redevelopment, and will raise income through trusts and foundations, individual donations and corporate supporters.

Role Purpose
Winston’s Wish is a digital first organisation leading the way in Digital Transformation across the Bereavement sector. This role is new and exciting and will play a vital part in helping Winston’s Wish turn up the dial across our high value fundraising.
As Philanthropy Manager you will be responsible for growing income from major donors and Trusts and Foundations through excellent donor stewardship. Leading a team of committed Trust fundraisers, you will focus on identifying prospective individual donors and foundations and develop lasting relationships with them. You will also support the management of relationships with existing donors, ensuring all donors have an excellent experience of supporting Winston’s Wish and understand the impact of their support on the lives of grieving children.
Main Responsibilities
Leadership
- To lead and inspire the Philanthropy team fostering a collaborative and high culture that delivers against income and objectives.

Philanthropy Fundraising
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with high-value donors, ensuring effective solicitation, stewardship, and follow-up to secure significant contributions (six-figure gifts).
- Build and maintain a portfolio of Trust & Grants supporters. Responsible for researching, approaching and developing compelling applications with a focus on ensuring Trusts & Grants provide a long-term, diverse and sustainable income stream.

The Prison Phoenix Trust
The PPT are the leading experts in yoga and meditation in prisons in the UK and Ireland. Since 1988 we have supported the personal development and rehabilitation people living in prison through meditation and yoga. We do this through 121 mentoring, group yoga classes, peer support newsletters and resources such as books and DVDs that help people practise yoga and meditation in their cells. We deliver the British Wheel of Yoga’s accredited training Teaching Yoga in Prison.
A small staff and volunteer team based in Oxford works with a network of self-employed yoga and meditation teachers across the UK and Ireland.
This new role is part of an expansion of the staff team to build the capacity of the charity to meet the growing demands for its services and the income to support this.
The role
At an exciting time for the expansion of the charity’s fundraising activities, the Development Coordinator will play a pivotal role in driving and expanding the charity’s income from individual donors while leading the development and execution of community fundraising initiatives and events. This role is pivotal in building and nurturing long-term relationships with individual donors, cultivating new donor prospects, and developing innovative community engagement strategies, working with The PPT’s Development Lead.

Responsibilities
1. Individual Fundraising
Innovate and implement a donor acquisition strategy appropriate for the values of The PPT.
- Implement an audience segmentation approach to building individual, regular and legacy giving, drawing on accurate analysis of data, using The PPT’s Access database.
- Project manage delivery of quarterly postal appeals including segmentation and targeting of messaging, mail-merge and printing, dispatch by volunteers or mailing house.
- Email marketing, including use of Mailchimp to segment audiences and target messages.
- Optimise The PPT’s use of JustGiving and other fundraising platforms, regularly reviewing performance.
- Optimise fundraising functionality of The PPT’s website and support colleagues in the development and procurement of a new website.
2. Community fundraising
- Manage and plan the growth of The PPT’s community fund raising activities, with a particular focus on yoga groups and faith groups.

3. Donor care:

Online Searches
In accordance with statutory safeguarding and child protection guidance, online searches will be conducted for shortlisted candidates before interview. The online searches will be conducted by a person who is independent of the interview and selection process and will focus on relevant information returned via searches of the candidate’s name (and variations thereof). Social media searches will be limited to professional platforms such as LinkedIn. Any concerns relating to suitability for work with children and young people will be forwarded to the interview panel, for discussion during the interview.
