We have a job vacancy for a Dementia Specialist to join Shine as the Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus (NPH) / Dementia Coordinator.
Shine has a membership of over 14,000 members living with Spina Bifida and/or Hydrocephalus and associated conditions and over 6,500 associated members.
In the last year we have seen a 25% increase in members who are living with Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus (NPH) across England, Wales and Northern Ireland. There are currently just over 600 members with NPH, plus their carers registered, but we are expecting this to continue to rise as awareness and diagnosis of the condition grows.
We are looking for an experienced, skilled, organised and dedicated new staff member to join Shine’s Services team to develop and lead our new NPH service.
Purpose of Job
To be the Dementia specialist for Shine.
To provide the foundations for improved health, social and emotional outcomes for adults living with NPH/Dementia and to support their families/carers.

Lead a small team raising the resources and engaging with audiences to support the delivery of wide ranging services helping refugees, asylum seekers and vulnerable migrants to settle and thrive locally. You will deliver income and support by managing your own small team and collaborating with the rest of the organisation to tell stories, share information, build understanding and deliver the income needed to run the organisation. With a current turnover of £1.5-£2 million, from a good mix of trusts, foundations, individuals, contracts, partnerships, community, there is a constant need to manage amd renew relationships. There is also potential to develop new or underdeveloped areas of collaboration and income.
The manager will have proven all round experience and a track record of delivering income from multiple and varied sources. They will need to work from the Oxford office at least two days a week to build relations with other teams. Beyond that location and working hours are flexible.

About the role
This is a new role and sits in the Fundraising and Digital Directorate. The Fundraising and Digital function is responsible for all the charity’s fundraising, brand, website, social media, emails and lead generation campaigns. This role sits within the Public Fundraising Team, which secures donations from individuals signed up to our newsletters and individuals giving up to £5,000 per year, legators and regular givers.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
Project Management

- Manage our email welcome journey for e-news sign ups, and support on the development of other supporter journeys for a range of audiences across the team.
- Ensure continued communications and strong working relationships with the Direct Marketing Manager and Digital and Comms teams.
- Play an active role in coordinating digital communication plans across the organisation, working alongside the Direct Marketing Manager and Comms colleagues to suggest themes and content as well as creating/scheduling content as and when required.
Email Marketing
- Day-to-day management of the email marketing programme, including drafting, building and managing campaigns and automations, and managing audiences.
- Work with colleagues and draw on existing data to develop insights and understanding about our supporters. Use this information to develop content which is engaging, informative, and meets supporters’ needs.
- Provide support to the Public Fundraising team for all email content, and ensuring all content aligns with wider organisational goals and principles.
- Champion email marketing best practices across the organisation, providing advice and feedback to improve email engagement and effectiveness.

The Trust and Corporate Prospect Researcher is a new role and part of the fundraising team for Brain Tumour Research.
The Prospect Researcher will help create a funding pipeline so the charity can maximise income by identifying prospects with an ability to give so the fundraising team can make productive approaches to increase partnership fundraising from both charitable trusts and corporates.
Position: Trusts and Corporate Prospect Researcher
Location: Head Office, Milton Keynes. We offer a hybrid working model, where team members are expected to be in the office for a minimum of three days per week.
Salary: £34,000 per annum.
Contract: Permanent
Hours: Full time, 35 hours per week

About the Role
This role is an exciting opportunity to help shape the future of philanthropy here at Brain Tumour Research as we look to grow our income from Trusts and Corporates. As a Trust and Corporate Prospect Researcher, you will play an important part in building the Trusts and Corporates pipeline at Brain Tumour Research and securing funding for our vision of finding a cure for all brain tumours. The Prospect Researcher will work closely with the Corporate and Trusts and Foundations manager in the Fundraising and Supporter Care Team to build, replenish and monitor a pipeline of prospects.
About You
We are looking for a research driven and conscientious individual who can develop a strong fundraising pipeline that will ensure the team can reach their long-term targets. You’ll provide insights into new areas of prospecting to continually replenish the pipeline with high-capacity prospects in order to meet current and future income targets. Your natural curiosity will lead you to identify new opportunities using a variety of online sources in combination with our existing database (Thank Q), and you will be able to articulate your recommendations to fundraisers in a concise and compelling way.
Do you have:
- Knowledge and commitment to our aims, mission and values.
- Strong IT skills, competent in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint).
- Experience of creating and/or managing systems to support prospect pipeline management.

The Operations Volunteering Experience Coordinator helps people with sight loss live the life they choose by ensuring volunteers in Operations-based roles are set up for success by preparing and training them for their role. Once in their role, they will support a positive volunteering experience by working to retain, further utilize and develop our volunteers in their role and wider into the Guide Dog family and community. Without our volunteers, none of our services would be possible.
We currently have 2 roles available one would work across the two teams in Sheffield & Notthingham; and the other to work across the two teams in Atherton & Liverpool. A typical fortnight would include days working from the office, days in the community, and some home working. The role holder will manage the time and location of their working days.
For this role, you’ll work 35 hours per week, 9am to 5pm, Monday through Friday. Please be aware that this role may include some travel covering your region and work outside of your usual 9-5 working hours.
