About the role
This is a pivotal moment for Ygam. With significant policy changes underway, including the Online Safety Act, Ofcom’s Children’s Code and reforms to gambling legislation introducing a new statutory levy, we have a vital role to play in shaping this new era. As we enter the fourth year of our “Safeguarding our Digital Generation” strategy, we are seeking a visionary and collaborative Chief Executive to lead us through our next phase of growth and impact. Purpose of the role
- To provide excellent customer care to all donors, delivering optimum supporter journeys working effectively with the wider team within the Royal Star & Garter (RSG) group
- To manage all associated fundraising payment processes and procedures and work effectively with finance to manage safe and effective banking and reconciliations
- To provide fundraising support across the department and locations of our services in respect of a range of activities including fundraising events
- To support the High Value Events & Corporate Manager in time bound projects as and when necessary
Supporter care
- To be proactive in enabling the supporter journey with timely communications (phone, email and letters) and clear stewardship with both existing and new donors
- Ensure effective frontline support and response for donors across a range of incoming systems
- Ensure donation processes and procedures are adhered to and executed in a timely manner, in accordance with guidelines – updating those wherever required with approval by the RSG Fundraising Officer.
Donations and data entry
- Ensure that the fundraising CRM database is up to date and that supporters contact and financial data is accurate, including creating new records
- Complete weekly banking and allocation tasks in accordance with the approved process, liaising with the finance department to ensure that all batched income is allocated correctly
- Data inputting on the CRM to include: regular giving, importing income from external agencies including CAF and Just Giving, processing Gift Aid and accurately storing declarations
- Filing and management of paperwork, ensuring due diligence and security measures are followed.
Fundraising & volunteer support
- To provide active support to a range of events including: managing participants, sending information, monitoring online giving pages and on the day set up and pack down
- To directly source donated items and contributors to support fundraising events including raffle/auction prizes and coordinating suppliers, stallholders and entertainers
- Coordinate and communicate with volunteers for events and corporate volunteering days and activities, ensuring they are briefed and supported
- To support any regular mailings or email contact to supporters, assisting with the cleaning and compliance of data once an agreed annual schedule is in place regular.
Other
- To manage all aspects of incoming fundraising post and dedicated inboxes along with outgoing mailings
- Ensure general department are kept up to date including attendance at meetings within RSG group wherever possible
- To be conversant with relevant fundraising legislation and the guidelines of the
Fundraising Regulator and the GDPR
- To undertake other duties as may be required and which are consistent with the nature of the role.

Role Summary
Join our team and help us improve public sector food across the UK with our School Plates and new Hospital Plates programmes. We're looking for a passionate and driven Chef Trainer to support schools and hospitals in delivering healthier and more sustainable menus.
The programmes continue to go from strength to strength. Through School Plates, we currently support over a third of all UK local authorities, catering for more than 12,000 schools and feeding over 1.25 million children daily. To date, we have been responsible for swapping over 50 million school meals from meat-based to meat-free or plant-based. We're now expanding our successful model into the health sector with our new Hospital Plates programme, bringing the same positive change to patient and staff menus.
Are you a skilled chef trainer with a passion for improving public food? Can you match our ambition? You'll be using your culinary expertise to train catering teams in both schools and hospitals, provide menu advice, and get involved with recipe development and culinary education. You will also run cooking workshops for pupils in secondary schools, inspiring the next generation to get excited about plant-based food. You will also build and manage relationships with our catering partners, helping them deliver delicious and sustainable meals. This is a UK-wide role and will require travel to different sites.

Recipe Development & Training: You'll co-lead the creation, testing, and development of new plant-based recipes for our school and hospital programmes, and lead on developing ‘grab-and-go’ and internationally inspired options for secondary schools. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the management of the back-office function and Charity governance of MRT.
- Act as the Company Secretary to ensure compliance with financial and legal requirements, as well as maintaining high standards of Charity governance.
- Work with the Chief Executive Officer to prepare and manage budgets, provide input to the Trust’s business plan and strategic initiatives.
- Contribute to the strategic direction of the Trust as a member of the Senior Leadership Team.
- Provide financial insight and analysis to support strategic decision-making and long-term planning.
- Support the development and implementation of organisational policies and procedures to ensure good governance.
- Act as a key liaison with the Board of Trustees, preparing and presenting financial and governance reports to inform oversight and decision-making.
- Lead on the development of internal controls and risk management strategies to safeguard the Trust’s assets and reputation.
- Oversee all payments, manage cash flow, income and claims.
- Support financial planning for grant funding applications to support delivery of our objectives.
- Line management of the Administration Officer.
- Renew the annual insurance policy ensuring adequate cover and value for money.
- Maintain, oversee, and update all project management reporting systems on time and to budget (including timesheets, expenses and monthly reports).
- Complete all necessary reports and keep suitable records in line with the funding requirements and document retention policy.
- Highlight any new risks and issues identified whilst carrying out duties, and work with the team to manage and resolve them.
- Fulfil duties as assigned by the Chief Executive Officer.
- Any other reasonable duties as required by MRT.
The post holder will be home based with travel throughout the Mersey catchment. The applicant will need to live within or close to the Mersey catchment to facilitate regular travel to meetings. Remote working from other parts of the country cannot be considered for this role due to the need for regular face-to-face interactions.
Candidate profile
Essential
- A financial control and reporting background, qualification or qualified by experience.
- Experience of organisational governance, ideally with knowledge of UK General Accounting Practice and Charities regulations.
- Experience of financial and management reporting within a small to medium-sized organisation.
- Experience of liaising with accountants to prepare annual accounts and reports required by the Charity Commission.
- Experience of cash flow forecasting.
- Familiarity with Xero financial and project management software (or similar).
- A confident and clear communicator with the ability to communicate financial information in an appropriate manner for non-financial trustees and staff.
- Aptitude in problem-solving.
- Self-motivated and able to work effectively from home with strong communication skills and with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

About the Role
The role of Database Officer sits in the Data, Evidence and Monitoring team, at the junction of frontline services, fundraising and the leadership team. In this role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of In-Form, our case management system for frontline services. In-Form represents a key data asset for the organisation so we are looking for someone who is responsible, conscientious and able to provide excellent customer service to other stakeholders who rely on In-Form. A strong interest in information management and databases is also essential for this role.
We would like to manage aspects of the development of In-Form in-house with limited recourse to the technical support team at In-Form. We recognise that this involves technical skills and will provide relevant on-the-job training to the successful candidate. We believe this job would be an ideal opportunity for someone who already has experience of using a case management system as a frontline worker in health/social care and now wants to move into data management, data protection and/or project monitoring and evaluation (M&E).
