We are looking for an experienced institutional funding expert to lead and manage a busy portfolio. This is a role in which the successful candidate will need to juggle multiple and complex projects. Key duties will include:

• Leading the development and implementation of a portfolio of work within the institutional funding team (IFT) currently focused on West Africa (17 Anglophone, Francophone and Lusophone countries), and lead on the development of strategic partnerships with individual institutional donors as prioritised.
• Providing direct line management and strategic support to a sub-team within IFT, that will support continued income growth and contract management, in line with the Institutional Funding strategy.
• Managing existing grant / contracts falling within the remit of this role and secure new income to the organisation.

This role is involved and multi-faceted with regular meetings across the organisation. This is a full-time role that may be worked from home for the majority of the time however some visits to our offices in Haywards Heath, West Sussex (RH16 3BW) will be required. On average this is likely to be twice per year. If you prefer to work from or are visiting our collaborative, modern office space, you will find it an easy 20-minute train journey from Brighton or 45 minutes from London. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Planning and Coordination 

• Act as the first point of contact for Tour Managers, Agents and Artists, fielding initial production queries and questions about the venue, schedule etc. 

• Support the Director, Music Programmer and Technical team in developing and maintaining excellent working relationships and clear communication channels with artists, partners, promoters, producers and other ICA departments.

• Be responsible for coordinating and communicating all pre-production and delivery requirements with in-house departments including Finance, Operations and Visitor Services, Technical, Marketing and Communications. Including, but not limited to, FOH staffing requirements, Technician requirements, Security and Cleaners. 

• Work with the Technical Manager on technical and staging requirements of each event to ensure that rider specifics can be achieved within agreed budgetary parameters. Meet regularly with Technical Manager to ensure good channels of comms with tech team. 

• Undertake planning and administration for own promotions, including booking hotels and travel in liaison with the artists and providing necessary transport as per contractual agreement. 

• Complete Certificates of Sponsorship or Letters of Invitation for all non-EEA artists (as required) and supply info to artists who wish to apply for FEU tax exemptions/reductions as necessary. 

• Order riders and booking event catering within agreed budgets, as required. 

• In the instance the event is live streamed, ensure that we secure the relevant rights for broadcast.

• Liaise with programmers, promoters and internal departments to make the necessary arrangements for performance by high profile artists. 

• Create Function Sheets, used to brief other internal teams, for every event. 

• Coordinate and communicate event timings with the ICA Bar team, including requests for late closes and early opening. 

Contracts and Budgets 

• Issue approved and signed off contracts from the Music Programmer based on deal memos agreed and provided by the Music Programmer and ensure that these are confirmed, communicated, and understood by relevant parties before events are put on sale. 

• Work closely with the Music Programmer to track budgets (which will be initially set by the Music Programmer) and report final figures after each event. 

• Annual reporting of ticket income to PRS 

• Reconcile budgets, manage post-concert settlements and ensure invoices are paid following all live events, feeding final budget figures back to the Music Programmer. 

Ticket On-Sale Process

• Monitor box office sales during pre-production and provide final settlements to the Music Programmer and external promoters as required. 

• Provide information and communicate arrangements for the sale of merchandise, programmes and any other ancillary commercial activity in conjunction with the Bookshop Manager. 

Event Delivery 

• Attend and manage on-the-day event delivery for approximately 2 shows a week (a rough estimate, although may increase or decrease at different times of the year). 

• Work with the Executive Producer to produce monthly rotas for Event Supervisors to cover attendance of live events. 

• When allocated and agreed with the Music Programmer, to attend and oversee rehearsals, soundchecks and performances in the ICA Theatre, acting as the first point of contact on behalf of the ICA.

• Any other appropriate duties as required by the Director and Head of Artistic Programmes. This may include occasional event management of dance and live performance projects.

We’re looking for a MEAL specialist who is, at heart, a peacebuilder.  You’ll deputise for the Regional Director as needed, and work collaboratively as a key part of the Regional Leadership Team to shape the strategic direction of Concordis’ future work across the Central African region.

As Regional Head of MEAL, your work will go above and beyond reporting to the donor on logframe outputs and outcomes to the donor, as important as those are.  With your extensive peacebuilding experience, you’ll work with the team to develop and implement sophisticated metrics for measuring these changes over time.  You’ll feed this information back into programme delivery, to ensure programmes remain accountable to the wider population and adapt to the rapidly changing and fragile contexts in which we work.

You’ll also use your flair for writing and your publishing skills to produce more informal news items, telling stories of the impact of our work, and publicising the recommendations that come from dialogues we facilitate.  This will help us amplify voices that are often ignored by decision makers, leading to evidence-based policy making.

The Preclinical Research Manager will be responsible for overseeing the generation of research related content for the CP research team and interacting with the research community to provide support and advice in their projects (either being considered or funded by the charity).

Key Responsibilities:

• Working closely with the Director of Research whose main responsibility is the implementation and delivery of the Cure Parkinson’s research strategy.
• Generating Parkinson’s research-related material for a scientific audience, including:
  • Research reports for publication in scientific journals (such as our annual Drug Development Pipeline report – McFarthing et al, 2023).
  • Long format scientific justifications for CP funded clinical trials for the CP website.
  • Short format lay summaries of new research (with the Research Liaison and Research Communication Officers) for various CP platforms.
  • Preparation of posters of CP research for presentation at conferences (with the Research Comms Officer).
  • Facilitating the Research Liaison Officer’s development within this area.
• Regular monitoring of publications and developments in Parkinson’s research, communicating these topics internally to help generate relevant material for the CP website (with the Research Comms Officer and Marketing team).

Person Specifications:

The successful applicant will need to work closely with other sections of the charity to understand and support the research needs of the organisation as a whole. For their primary function, they will ideally have:

• A PhD with experience in preclinical research related to Parkinson’s or neurodegeneration.
• A strong understanding of Parkinson’s disease biology and the current preclinical models (in vitro and in vivo) used to investigate it.

World Cancer Research Fund International is a leading authority on cancer prevention research related to diet, weight and physical activity. World Cancer Research Fund International is a not-for-profit organisation that:

We are seeking a Science and Policy Project Manager who will provide project management support across the science and policy departments for the core programmes and for cross cutting activities such as conferences and communications. You will report to the Director of Research, Policy and Innovation with the delivery of the science and policy strategies. You will also work closely with the Assistant Director of Research and Policy and there will also be interaction and communication with the Heads of Research Funding, Research Interpretation and Policy and Public Affairs as well as other colleagues in the network countries. 

You will be educated to MSc level in Public Health, Nutrition, Epidemiology or closely related field and have experience working in a research/public health setting and developing scientific/policy reports, summaries and presentations. You will have proven scientific project management skills with experience in monitoring progress, performance reporting and delivering projects on time and budget. You will have excellent interpersonal skills and proven ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment, and with stakeholders at all levels.

MLC Partners are pleased to be partnering with Morden College to recruit their new Finance Manager.

An organisation rich in history, the charity has been at the forefront of supporting older people’s lives for more than 300 years. They have more than 250 older peoples in alms house accommodation in Blackheath and Beckenham and have a small 28-bed care home on their Blackheath site. Morden College are committed to providing services that support their residents to live independent and healthy lives.

The organisation is embarking on a finance process review, in order to improve their ways of working. With plans in place to upgrade their finance and CRM systems the role would suit a change-focussed individual.

Reporting into the Finance Director, the role is a key member of the team with responsibility of three staff, and the involvement in the strategic vision of the finance team. With their main base in Blackheath, the role is hybrid and strives to offer as much flexibility as possible, including a wide-ranging benefits package.

Main responsibilities of the role:

• Ensure the completion of all month end processes and the timely delivery of the monthly management accounts.
• Liaise with key stakeholders to provide a responsive and compliant finance management operation.
• Support the improvement of processes and systems, ensuring robust policies are in place so the organisation can be fully digitised.
• Lead and manage a team of four, quality assuring their work, and guiding their careers and ensuring their continued development and nurturing great team culture.
• Support the Finance Director with the production of the annual financial statements, project managing the team to facilitate a smooth audit delivery across the main organisation as well as subsidiary accounts.

The successful candidate will:

• Be a fully qualified accountant, likely with experience from within the not-for-profit sector.
• Have experience driving change and improving processes and broader cultural change in a finance team.
• Be able to flex up and down from a hands-on perspective to also offer strategic insight to the Finance Director.
• Have significant experience working in a finance function with the knowledge of ‘what good looks like’.
