INTRODUCTION TO THE ROLE
The Director of People and Culture leads on fostering a positive work environment in order to help develop a strong organisational culture, providing high quality leadership and oversight on the development and delivery of Girls Not Brides’ People and Culture strategy. The post holder facilitates an organisational culture that supports an ambitious and diverse workforce that demonstrates clear commitment to Girls Not Brides values, mission, and vision, drawing up our principles around collaboration and partnership.
As a people and culture senior level professional, you will have an evidential understanding of all aspects of HR practices, both UK and International. This is a pivotal role supporting the transformation of Girls Not Brides, leading the delivery of a workforce strategy that ensures we have a stable, sustainable, skilled, dynamic, and diverse workforce capable of delivering the goals of the organisation. You will be someone who can balance creativity with pragmatism, and expertise with a desire to learn, and a demonstrable alignment with our commitment to championing well-being, diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI). The role contributes to and plays a critical role in broad organisational leadership and strategic development, partnering with the senior leadership team in strategic decision-making.

London, UK (hybrid with up to three days on site per week). May include international travel.

Salary range
£70,560 (subject to benchmarking) rising on an annual incremental basis. Girls Not Brides also offers a generous 10% pension.
Contract
This is a full-time two-year fixed term contract. The successful candidate must have the right to work in the United Kingdom at the time of applying, and for the full duration of the two-year initial contract.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Planning and Organisational Leadership
• Lead the development and implementation of Girls Not Brides’ people and culture strategies to deliver on the vision, mission and goals set out in the Secretariat and Partnership strategies, 2022-2025.
• Lead the creation of an inclusive organisational culture, values, plans, and HR policies that are rooted in and informed by a deep commitment to the values of Girls Not Brides and to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI).
• Contribute to broad organisational leadership and strategic development, as a member of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT).
• Advise and inform the CEO, Board and SLT colleagues on strategic issues relating to Human Resources, People management and organisational culture.
• Responsible for planning and monitoring the directorate’s budget.
Talent Acquisition
• Lead the development and implementation of Girls Not Brides’ people management and acquisition strategies to deliver on the vision.
• Oversee the development of strategies to identify talent; establish and oversee equitable and inclusive recruitment and hiring processes for all employees.
• Oversee the development of a comprehensive onboarding and staff orientation strategy.
• Oversee offboarding of staff, including exit interviews; analyse data to surface potential cultural issues or other staff concerns; make recommendations to the SLT for continuous improvements.
• Support line managers to proactively identify new leaders and build opportunities for growth.
Staff Well-Being
• Lead on the development and implementation of a staff well-being policy and oversee the effective use of processes for day-to-day provision across the organisation.
• Oversee development and implementation of programmes, initiatives, and ideas to enhance and maintain staff well-being across the organisation.
• To provide leadership, direction and co-ordination for the Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) and staff support services, including occupational health.
Organisational Culture
• Oversee the review and implementation of organisational core values that guide the organisation’s policies and procedures.
• Oversee the implementation of policies and programmes that ensure diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in the organisations.
• Oversee development and dissemination of HR policies and procedures that maintain and improve employee relations and shape organisational culture.
• Communicate openly and frequently, keeping staff informed on benefits, resources, organisational events, and other pertinent information.
• Oversee the management and appropriate resolution of complex employee relations issues; where applicable, commission and support effective, thorough, and objective investigations.
Regulatory and Compliance
• Provide leadership and direction to ensure compliance with all statutory employment related law and regulations.
• Maintain in-depth knowledge of changing employment regulations and implement policies, procedures, and systems to ensure regulatory compliance and reduce the organisation’s employment law risks.
• Oversee and lead the review of human resources information systems (HRIS) to ensure they are fit for purpose and support strategic thinking and direction. Apply relevant organisational/human resources metrics; contribute information, analysis, and recommendations to strategic thinking and direction.
Professional Development and performance
• Assess organisational needs with the SLT to identify professional learning and growth opportunities to support employees’ ongoing professional development.
• Steward a culture of learning and growth.
• Implement a standard of supervision grounded in inclusive leadership practices such as building strong relationships, active listening, clear and transparent communication, consistent and timely feedback and clear expectations.
• Ensure coaching and resources are provided to help build interpersonal and team resilience, address conflicts and adapt to different leadership styles.
Compensation and Benefit Management
• Develop and ensure the administration of a consistent, equitable, and progressive compensation program including salary surveys and market research to ensure Girls Not Brides is competitive within our market and in line with our budget.
• Monitor budgets for recruiting, training/staff development, and benefits programs in partnership with the Director of Operations & Finance.
• Oversee all HR functions including benefits programs; have oversight of/lead relationships with benefit providers, coordinate annual staff forums and address employee benefits questions; propose additional benefit options pertinent to the organisation’s workforce in partnership with the Director of Operations & Finance.

PERSON SPECIFICATION
Essential experience
• Significant professional experience in a similar role in the international not-for-profit sector, international/intergovernmental organisation, or social enterprise.
• Qualified HR professional.
• Significant HR generalist experience, with extensive exposure to benefit administration, employee relations, performance management, recruitment, Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS), and training and development.
• Experience supporting a diverse workforce, including working in international contexts (e.g. a globally diverse workforce).
• Demonstrated leadership skills.
• Highly relational and able to build strong connections and relationships across differences.
• Proven ability to design and maintain operational systems and controls in line with best practice.

About IKWRO
IKWRO –Women’s Rights Organisation (IKWRO) is an award-winning charity founded (as the Iranian and Kurdish Women’s Rights Organisation) in 2002. IKWRO is a registered charity which provides advice and support to Middle Eastern, North African and Afghan women and girls living in the UK, who have experienced, or are at risk of all forms of “honour” based abuse, including; forced marriage, child marriage and female genital mutilation (FGM), or domestic abuse.
We work with women and girls of all ages, including lesbian women, bisexual women and trans women. We offer services in Kurdish, Farsi, Arabic, Dari, Pashto, Turkish and English. IKWRO offers free advice, advocacy and counselling services and operates a refuge which provides safe accommodation and specialist support to single women at risk of “honour” based abuse, forced marriage and domestic abuse.
IKWRO also provides training for women and girls to help them understand their rights in the UK. In partnership with other organisations, we assist survivors of abuse with accessing English language classes and education, training and employment opportunities.
As well as supporting women and girls directly, we offer advice and training for professionals from the statutory and voluntary sectors, to better understand the needs of the women and girls we represent, the types of abuse they experience and to provide best practice prevention and support services.
We campaign to increase awareness and improve laws and policies to tackle all forms of “honour” based abuse and harmful practices including; forced marriage, child marriage, marital captivity, female genital mutilation, virginity testing and hymenoplasty, discrimination by sharia courts and to push for better laws and policies to protect women’s and girl’s rights.
Purpose of Job
The Fundraising Officer will work as part of the Fundraising and Marketing team and will be responsible for:
• Nurturing relationships with existing and prospective donors
• Sustaining and developing our group of individual and community-based supporters.
• Growing income, including regular giving, donations, appeals, legacy giving, community groups and other fundraising activities.
We are looking for a strong communicator with some experience of fundraising who is keen to develop their career in this area.

The Diocese of Coventry is seeking a Strategic Programme and Change Director to drive the development and implementation of our strategic framework. They will play a crucial role in developing the programmes and projects needed to deliver to the key commitments and vision set out in Our Shared Future. The role holder will:

Role Summary
As the Director of Research and Public Affairs you lead a team working across the full range of research work (including commissioning, grant-making and in-house research) and public affairs work (including policy analysis, advocacy work and mobilising our activists). You also contribute to the charity’s strategies, leadership and governance as a member of the Executive Team. Ultimately, your role is to generate new knowledge; and communicate knowledge, ideas and emotions to change hearts and minds, creating tangible reductions in alcohol harm across the UK.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
Leadership, strategy & planning
1. Lead the research and public affairs functions at Alcohol Change UK.
2. Produce and deliver plans across our research and public affairs work programmes that are ambitious for change (impact), realistic given our resources, and consistent with our strategy, our other work programmes, and our values.
3. Set budgets, tightly control costs and identify opportunities for making savings, growing income and making the case for investment.
4. Appropriately monitor and evaluate our research and public affairs work with a view to knowing, growing and showing the impact we make.
Research
5. Work closely with the CEO, Policy and Research Manager, R&P sub-committee and Wales Office to determine and oversee the charity’s programme of commissioned research, research grants, and in-house research.
6. Ensure that all research is designed with impact-in-mind and, once complete, that it delivers on that impact through active and ongoing communication of the findings to the right audiences with the right messages through the right channels.
7. Lead the research function to be the central hub for the charity on the topic of alcohol harm and its solutions, staying on top of new research.
8. Influence the research spending of other agencies (e.g. NIHR) with a view to maximising funding into alcohol research in general.
Public Affairs
9. Lead and manage the charity’s public affairs activity, deploying the CEO, Research & Policy Officer and other staff as a team.
10. Lead our work with external alliances, such as the Alcohol Health Alliance and the Alcohol and Families Alliance, and on the APPG on Alcohol Harm.
11. Develop excellent relationships with Parliamentarians, civil servants, charities and other important institutional actors in our field.
12. Build Campaigner journeys for our engagement audience to best mobilise them to help us with our influencing work.
13. Lead on the commissioning and management of any external public affairs agencies, parliamentary monitoring services and similar suppliers.
14. Ensure our policy positions are kept up-to-date, based on emerging evidence and contemporary thinking, and consistent with our principles.
15. Work closely with the Director of Engagement and Fundraising to effectively mobilise and deploy our activists, Community Champions and other supporters so they (i) make a difference, (ii) become better informed over time, and (iii) remain motivated to campaign for our cause.
16. Work closely with the Director of Marketing and Communications to influence all forms of media to better support our desired outcomes.
Team Leadership and Management
17. Lead and manage the research and public affairs team(s), ensuring excellent line management.
18. Lead the process of recruiting and inducting new team members, as appropriate.
19. Proactively develop your own skills and experience as well as those of staff within your team.
Cross-organisational Role
20. Act as a spokesperson for the charity at high profile events and across media, including radio and TV.
21. Be an active and positive member of the charity’s Executive Team.
22. Work with colleagues across the charity to support their work and to act as ‘one team’.
23. Work particularly closely with colleagues in the Wales office, optimising opportunities for joint working.
24. Contribute actively and positively to the development of charity-wide strategies and activity.

About you and the role
The purpose of this role is to head up development of key partnerships and income streams that will ensure the charity remains financially sustainable and able to deliver our impact at scale. You will be responsible for the assessment of, and managing relationships with, all major new partners. ● Developing a comprehensive income generation and marketing strategy that supports the delivery of the charity’s objectives and activities

Our Green Space for Health programme helps to realise the value of green space for physical and mental health, both at healthcare sites and in the wider community. Our flagship project, the NHS Forest, promotes tree planting and woodland creation at NHS sites, supporting and encouraging sites to plant and maintain trees through offering free trees and advice. Internews seeks an experienced Project Director for a four-year European Commission (EC)-funded project to advance the global response to increasing the resilience of at-risk independent media. The Project Director will lead and manage a consortium of four international NGO and academic implementing partners, overseeing and coordinating the design and implementation of a diverse portfolio of activities in multiple countries worldwide, as well as project monitoring and evaluation and a robust learning agenda. Strong skills in project financial management and communications are required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
· Lead the Inception Phase of the project, working closely with consortium members, the EC, and other awardees to finalize target country selection, select research initiatives, draft the project workplan and monitoring and evaluation plan, and determine country-based activities.
· Serve as Internews’ primary point of contact with the European Commission, establishing and managing strong partnerships and dialogue with EC representatives in Brussels as well as country-level delegations.
· Effectively manage the project consortium, ensuring transparent communication processes and protocols.
· Pro-actively coordinate activity design and management with Internews Regional and Thematic Directors who manage Internews programming in key geographic regions and technical areas.

The WorldGBC is seeking a dedicated Advocacy and Engagement Manager to join our dynamic team. ● Communication and Representation: Represent WorldGBC at policy forums, conferences, and meetings, presenting policy positions and advocating for sustainable building practices. Prepare a range of materials, including reports, briefings, and presentations, to support advocacy objectives.
● Stakeholder Engagement: Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in the sustainability, construction, and policy-making communities, including governments, NGOs, industry associations, and private sector partners.
Skills, experience and education:
● Minimum of 5 years' experience in policy analysis, advocacy, or a related role, preferably within an international context.
● Deep understanding of international climate diplomacy and national policy-making processes
● Experience managing relationships with policymakers and stakeholders and ability to lead discussions towards tangible outcomes.
● Experience in the design of built environment decarbonisation roadmaps for the public and/or private sectors and project development.
● Specific experience or interest in international work, ideally with a proven record for engaging with a geographically and culturally diverse network of stakeholders.
● Excellent analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.
● Ability to work effectively in a diverse, international team environment.
● Fluent in English, with proficiency in additional languages considered an asset.
● Willingness to travel as required.

Reporting to the Director of External Relations, this varied and hands-on role will lead on all aspects of Individual Giving, including supporter acquisition and retention, legacies, supporter care and database management.
You will be an inspiring leader with excellent communication skills. You will have a proven track record of leading a multi-functional team to deliver successful fundraising campaigns, specifically digital acquisition. You will have experience of managing complex budgets and delivering income targets of £1m+.
