Overall Purpose of Role

This role will lead the operational team at Saint Paul’s with inspiring and effective line management to release ministry in the wider team and congregation. This is a hands on leadership role, supporting and working closely with the Senior Leaders to ensure effective operations and business continuity. You will lead on all operations functions including Finance, HR, Facilities, Procurement and all other operations that help our team thrive and carry out the vision of Saint Paul’s. Reporting in to boards and other management bodies, as well as experience running and leading teams, you will have an eye for detail with the ability and experience in carrying out change. You will carry the vision and mission of Saint Paul’s and lead the team in a way that supports the vision, balancing both strategic and operational goals. Key Responsibilities

Finance

• Lead and manage Finance and Procurement, ensuring value for money, maximising financial efficiency through accurate and timely financial reporting and analysis to inform decision making and projections related to the operational and financial functioning of Saint Paul’s.
• P&L reporting and responsibility.
• Managing and supporting the Finance Manager.
• Managing Payroll alongside Finance Manager.
• Overseeing gift days.
• Managing and monitoring team budgets ensuring compliance with financial protocols.
• Timely preparation, monitoring and communication of monthly accounts, budgets and forecasts for Finance Committee and PCC.
• Assisting in the preparation and reporting of financial accounts for HMRC, Auditors, Diocese and Charity Commission.
• Preparation of financial information for grant funding and financial reporting for successful bids. 

HR & Team

· Line Managing the Operations team including the Finance Manager, Operations Manager, LCL Manager, Receptionist and Bookings Manager and Facilities Manager.

· Ensure the overall smooth running of HR, ensuring we are using best practice and are up to date with knowledge at all times.

· Monitoring of Citrus HR to ensure all team are using the programme to its full ability.

· Governance of payroll, overtime and leave.

· Running annual appraisal processes and updating where needed.

· Meeting with wider team members as and when needed to ensure health of team.

· Being a first point of call for any HR issues that arise and advising on these.

· Overseeing and leading of recruitment processes.

Facilities Management

· Ensure the historic fabric of the church and associated buildings is maintained and developed in line with prescribed regulations and standards and where appropriate that the historical and heritage aspects of the buildings are appropriately profiled and made available to the community and general public. 

· Manage all operations budgets and external contract relationships in line with forecast ensuring value for money and delivery is in line with agreed project scope/specifications and high-quality service. 

· Proactively agree (and monitor) standards for buildings maintenance and adherence.

· Leading on our Carbon Net Zero journey.

· Business Continuity and Disaster Management Plan reviewing to ensure risk management/mitigation.

Other

· Strategic management of the Saint Paul’s Centre and all business related to it, ensuring we meet our targets and ensuring good working relationships with clients to help secure repeat business from large clients.

· Oversight of the café, helping to improve our offerings and ensure management of the team and operational effectiveness.

Essential Skills, Knowledge and Experience

You will be flexible and able to work dynamically to respond to needs as they arise, whilst keeping a strategic eye on upcoming opportunities and challenges. You will bring strength to the day-to-day running of St Paul’s, as well as be planning for the short-term and long-term future health of the team and church.

· 5+ years experience in operations management, with a proven track record of line management. 

· Strong finance capabilities and experience.

· Strong HR experience and understanding of the function.

Working Requirements

We are looking to appoint a unique leader who will help make a difference to the lives of over 2 million people who live in north east London.

As a partnership of the diverse voluntary, community and social enterprise sector across north east London and the Integrated Care Board we collaborate to ensure that the design and delivery of health and care services works for residents across north east London. We are now seeking a motivated and creative individual to lead the next steps in the development of the North East London Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise Sector Collaborative (the VCSE Collaborative) as part of the sub-regional Integrated Care System.

The position will be hosted by Tower Hamlets CVS although the post holder will be accountable to the VCSE Collaborative Leadership Group and will be expected to work equitably across the north east London sub-region.

Core responsibilities

To develop the VCSE Collaborative and its infrastructure, including terms of reference and onboarding strategy, in consultation with the existing Leadership Group 

To be an enabler and a conduit for the development and embedding of robust partnership working within all levels of the new health and social care structures, translating opportunities into actions for VCS Collaborative members. 

To support the facilitation of strategic working between the VCSE sector and partners within the NEL Integrated Care System, supporting communication and engagement.

To support collaboration with the NEL Integrated Care System to ensure people and communities feed into decision-making mechanisms.

To be the first point of contact for liaison between the VCS, the NHS and local authority bodies, supporting effective dialogue and communication between all partners across NEL Integrated Care System.

Role outline: Managing the deployment and maintenance of Repowering’s low-carbon infrastructure, leading the Community Retrofit team 

Contract: Full-time role with probation period of 3 months.

About the role:

We are looking for an experienced and self-motivated person with experience of low carbon retrofit, asset management, and business development to join Repowering London’s growing team. You will be a core part of our mission to tackle climate change and move towards a more inclusive and sustainable future. 

This will be a high-profile role within the executive team of a nationally significant social enterprise that is at the leading edge of urban community energy, with significant ambitions for scale and impact. You will work alongside the Executive Team with shared responsibility for setting and realising the organisation’s goals, strategic priorities, and business plan. 

Community Retrofit is a place-based approach to decarbonisation and community development, that creates low-carbon infrastructure, which is technically integrated at a local level, and provides direct benefits to local communities, for example through community ownership, affordable energy supply, or high-quality jobs.

You will be responsible for leading the Community Retrofit team. The team currently encompasses seven staff working across domestic and non-domestic:

• Rooftop solar installations

• Communal heat networks 

• Retrofit assessment and coordination 

• Data collection and analysis 

• Asset management 

Rooftop solar is the most established asset type deployed by Repowering, with installations dating to 2013. Retrofit assessment and coordination services started in 2023, and communal heat network investments are expected in 2025.

You will be responsible for ensuring high quality installations of low carbon assets that perform as forecast.

You will lead the development of improvements to our processes for evaluating potential sites and deploying and maintaining low carbon assets and retrofit measures. 

The role will require ongoing refinement of Repowering’s community retrofit offer to community groups, building owners and public bodies such as Local Authorities, and support the growth of long-term partnerships with our stakeholders, including supply chain partners.

In particular, working with the Repowering executive team you will support the incubation of a suite of a finance offers that allow a wider range of households, businesses and communities to participate in community retrofit. 

You will also support Repowering’s work to increase employment opportunities for young people in the low carbon sector, through how we structure our procurement for installations and by the training programmes we run in-house and with partners.

The Community Retrofit Team is one of Repowering’s four key teams, which include Communities, Energy Supply, and Core Operations. Each of these teams supports the work of the others and ongoing coordination and communication will be an important part of the role to maximise the opportunities for learning and innovation across the organisation.

The right candidate will have a high level of technical due diligence, project management and business development experience, with a track record in leading successful teams. This is particularly important as Repowering London is in a growth phase and is expected to expand significantly in the coming years. You will be comfortable working collaboratively and managing a number of staff and external contractors, as well as building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders. 

As this role is at the most senior level of the organisation, it provides an opportunity to shape business development and long-term strategy. Experience of commercial service delivery will be key to creating a sustainable platform for Community Retrofit. 

For this role, we will be looking for and assessing candidates on the following:

• Exceptional leadership skills to lead a growing team and manage a portfolio of projects 

• Experience of asset deployment and maintenance in the construction, retrofit or renewable energy sectors

• Track record of developing and growing a commercial service or product 

• Formal training in engineering, architecture or quantity surveying

• Experience of managing multi-partner projects, that may include academia, technical experts, contractors and local government 

• Analytical skills to interpret data and financial models

About the role

The Associate Director of Regular Giving is a key new role for UCL and the Office of the Vice-President (Advancement). You will lead on the reimagining and reintroduction of UCL's Regular Giving (direct marketing fundraising) programme, which was paused in 2015. Between now and 2026, when UCL launches an ambitious fundraising and engagement campaign in our 200th year, you will research, design, and test a broad-based giving proposition capable of inspiring our 400,000 strong alumni community when launched.

We are happy to consider applications to work on a part-time, flexible and job share basis wherever possible (minimum 0.8 FTE - equivalent of 4 days per week, stated salary to be pro-rata).

Summary

NEF Summary:

At the National Energy Foundation, our team is forward thinking in its approach to home energy and uses its influence and projects to make meaningful change. Our primary focus is delivering projects aimed at alleviating fuel poverty and helping residents to feel warmer, healthier and more comfortable in their homes whilst also helping them cut the cost of their fuel bills. In the next five years, we will seek to help more than 170,000 households out of fuel poverty. Beyond this, we seek to encourage homeowners to make improvements to their homes to increase energy efficiency. To enable this, we deliver several projects aimed at encouraging retrofit of energy efficient heating systems into UK homes.

Job Role

The Finance Director will work with the CEO and the Finance team to collaboratively drive the development and delivery of the NEF’s strategic plans and budgets. The Finance Director will be a member of the NEF’s Senior Management Team (SMT) and will attend the quarterly Trustee Meetings.

Not only will the Finance Director take accountability for the day-to-day transaction processing, ably supported by an effective Finance Team of 3 people, they will take the lead on the budgeting, planning and analysis processes, developing a range of processes and reports to enable effective decision making.

The Finance Director will be the key contact for and work with the auditors, HMRC and other professional advisors and regulatory bodies to ensure that the organisation remains compliant and fulfils its legal responsibilities.

Management

o Manage the Finance function, providing leadership and support to the Finance Manager and their team of 2 analysts to ensure they are all able to carry out their responsibilities to the required standard.

o Provide strategic financial guidance to ensure that the NEF meets all its objectives.

o Contribute to the company’s overall business objectives and guide on financial strategy.

o Act as support and “Critical Friend” to the CEO, deputising for them where required.

Audit, Accounting & Reporting

o Take accountability for the production of timely and accurate financial reports, meeting the deadlines set by the CEO and the Trustees.

o Take accountability for all transaction processing including payroll, invoicing customers, and supplier invoice payments.

o Continually develop the reporting output to ensure that it meets the ever-changing requirements of the NEF and its Trustees.
