DOTWUK have a fun and friendly finance team in a small, but high-performing function and are looking for a collaborative, experienced and energetic leader for the role of Head of Finance. 

In this exciting role, the successful candidate will provide the organisation with a timely, accurate and relevant financial management service by assuming day-to-day responsibility for the organisation’s accounting function, to enable the senior management team and the Board of Trustees to assess results and performance and make informed, strategic decisions, and ensure the organisation complies with statutory and corporate regulation and requirements. 

You will work closely with the treasurer, directors and managers to enable them to manage their programme finances and support them to report to donors and to devise sound plans for growth and sustainability. 

The UK chapter expects to grow income across all sources, including from institutions and foundations. You will play a critical role in maintaining and building on this success. 

You will also be responsible for and provide input from a financial and management perspective on strategic development and the general organisation-wide structure and management as part of the Senior Management Team.

Reporting directly to the Director of Finance, the role will manage and motivate the Treasury team ensuring that it runs as an efficient and effective service whilst fulfilling internal and external customer requirements.

Key to the role is managing the Association’s portfolio of over £850m of bank loans and capital borrowings, ensuring that accurate and up-to-date records are maintained, and excellent relationships are preserved with our banking and institutional investor partners.

The Head of Treasury is also responsible for creating and maintaining the long-term financial business plan for the Association and producing detailed sensitivity analysis and multi-variant stress-testing.

About you

You will be a subject matter expert and will drive continuous improvement in the efficiency, security and control of daily treasury and business planning activities.

Holding a professional accountancy qualification, (eg ACA, ACCA, CIMA) and ideally a treasury qualification (eg MCT, ACT) you will:

• Be proactive with the ability to work to a general brief with minimal supervision
• Have excellent financial analytical and treasury skills
• Have experience of managing a loan portfolio in excess of £500m
• Have experience of negotiating and managing loan agreements with banks
• Have experience of arranging borrowings from institutional investors through the capital markets

The successful candidate will have accountability for several key areas of operational delivery of BITC’s programmes across England, Scotland and Wales. The pillars of our work are a well-respected handyperson service and a day centre offering a range of activities focusing on health and well-being, socialising, art, gardening and intergenerational work with and for older people.

The CEO will need to embrace our aims and lead the EV team to provide services based on holistic, long-term, high-quality relationships and to ensure that older people shape development of our services. In this difficult economic environment, we need to explore new funding opportunities and transition away from a reliance on local authority funding.

You will report directly to the Chair of the Board of Trustees and be supported by the board and a small, dedicated staff team.

Your role:

• To lead the staff team to deliver excellent services for older people in Brent.
• To ensure the financial stability of Elders Voice.
• To work with the board of trustees to develop and deliver the strategic plan.
• To act as an ambassador for Elders Voice and the older people we represent.

Exeter-based cancer charity, Force, is well known and much loved for its incredible work supporting people who have had a cancer diagnosis and their families with a range of support.  Their longstanding CEO is now retiring and the search has begun to find that special person to leader the charity into the future.  We are delighted and honoured to be supporting the Board with this important appointment.

Of course, you will be an inspiring and confident communicator, able to engage with and present to a range of audiences as well as working with local media.

About the role 

We're looking for a highly motivated and skilled Bid Manager who can actively craft commercial tender submissions and work with the team to ensure we submit high-quality, winning bids within UK government procurement rules.

You will sit in the Business and Strategy directorate and lead bid-writing across the organisation, line-managing a team of Bid Writers and working closely with other colleagues across Business Development, Marketing and Operations.

This position is a full-time, 35 hours a week, permanent contract with a starting salary between £44,500 - £50,000 per annum depending on skills and experience. We are open to a conversation about flexible working or job sharing. Whilst the role is home-based, some travel for team meetings will be required.

How will you make a difference? 

Through your bid management expertise you will proactively manage the workload of the bid-team, balancing known pipeline opportunities and the unknown tenders issued, ensuring capacity to bid on rewins and make the most of the new business opportunities. 

You will assiduously manage the end-to-end bid process and will support and empower the Bid Writers to take ownership of proposals and ensure they co-ordinate input from key stakeholders across the organisation.
