An exciting opportunity to lead and transform the CSP’s data capabilities in support of our public-good mission. You will improve our understanding and use of data across the organisation in aid of our 65,000 members and the physiotherapy profession.
The CSP is a one-off organisation. We give expert voice to UK physiotherapy, and support our members throughout their education, working lives and retirement. About the Role

RAFT Research Programme Consortium Chief Executive Officer (0.6FTE)

The London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) is one of the world’s leading public health universities. Our mission is to improve health and health equity in the UK and worldwide; working in partnership to achieve excellence in public and global health research, education and translation of knowledge into policy and practice.
The LSHTM is searching for a CEO to help in the management of the ‘Resilience Against Future Threats’ (RAFT) Research Programme Consortium (RPC). RAFT is funded by FCDO, and its mission is research that will be of practical benefit to national programmes for the control of vector-borne diseases especially malaria. The Consortium partners are the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, the Centre for Research into Infectious Disease Cameroon, the Institut Pierre Richet in Côte d'Ivoire, the National Institute for Medical Research (NIMR) in Tanzania, the Faculty of Tropical Medicine of Mahidol University in Thailand, and the Malaria Consortium. One strand of our work concerns the arms race against insecticide resistance in African malaria vector mosquitoes, and in particular the process of choosing the most cost-effective insecticidal interventions in the face of complex geographic variation in resistance and a limited amount of epidemiological trial evidence. The other strand is addressing the more strategic and longer-term threats facing vector control, including the rise of Aedes-borne viruses in Africa, and the effects of anthropogenic changes in the environments in which we live.
We are looking for a CEO who will join the leadership team based in the LSHTM. This is a senior role with operational responsibility across all of RAFTs activities, including its research, its governance structures and workings as a partnership, its relationship with FCDO and the intended users of the knowledge outputs. You will work closely with RAFT’s two Principal Investigators/Research Directors and provide support to all other Principal Investigators/Directors from partners in the Consortium. The CEO will manage the relationship with the donor (UK Government Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, FCDO) and be the primary point of contact. You will provide strategic Management of RPC governance structures; and actively participate in RPC management meetings with Management Group and running of the Consortium Advisory Group (CAG). You will work closely with the Programme Manager to ensure best practice in budget management, financial probity, forecasting expenditure, and financial reporting to donors, Management Group and CAG.
The CEO will oversee and report on detailed progress against the agreed workplans and logframe, including on risks to programme success and make changes and recommendations as required. You will lead on Lead on active engagement with RAFT’s primary external stakeholders (i.e. the main intended users of its knowledge outputs), including National Malaria Control Programmes (NMCPs) in countries with high burden of mosquito-borne disease, World Health Organisation (WHO), UK Government FCDO etc, so as to understand their research and technical priorities and to coordinate RAFT’s role and contribution. Finally, the CEO will also oversee the development and implementation of the RAFT Communications Strategy and together with the Research Uptake Manager, oversee all RPC communications, data management procedures and engagement of users and policymakers with the research outputs, representing the RPC in public debate and other media.
Candidates must have a higher education to degree level, or equivalent, or substantial relevant experience, experience of managing and reporting on programme grants from funders such as FCDO, EU etc, significant proven experience of financial planning and management including creating and monitoring budgets
The post is part-time 3 days per week, 0.6 FTE and fixed-term until 30 April 2026. The post is funded by the UK Government Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) and is available immediately.
The salary will be on the Professional Services salary scale, Grade 7 in the range £51,299 - £58,723 (SP 38-43) per annum pro rata (inclusive of London Weighting). The post will be subject to the LSHTM terms and conditions of service. Annual leave entitlement is 30 working days per year, pro rata for part time staff. In this key role, you will lead and implement the safeguarding strategy, working closely with the Director of Delivery and Impact and with the Senior Leadership Team providing advice and updates regarding safeguarding and risk management to our Board, various committees, and teams. You will work closely across functions but particularly within the programmes team, supporting the safer programming of our young people across 20 countries via a network of in-country delivery partners. This year we are launching our Partner Portal which will include safeguarding training and development in addition to the partner training already provided, your knowledge will be crucial as you work closely with our Digital and Design and Impact teams in the development and implementation of this training.

We are an agile social enterprise looking for a qualified Finance Manager to manage and operate our existing finance and operations function. Working flexibly from home, you will perform a core role in our small, friendly team helping to maintain financial stability and control as we focus on our mission to deliver successful projects across a range of settings globally. You will report to the Strategy Director. The role is advertised at 15 hours per week and the preference would be for these hours to be worked over 3 days, however this can be flexed in line with the cyclical nature of some of the finance activities, particularly during quarter end.
About Primary Care International (PCI)
PCI was launched as a social enterprise in 2014. We are a small and friendly ‘virtual’ team comprised of six committed part-time staff and volunteers and supported by a Board of Directors.
PCI provides training, learning and consultancy for healthcare workers in low- and middle-income countries, working in partnership with the WHO, UNHCR, Ministries of Health and NGOs. To date we have worked in more than 20 countries across Africa, the Middle East, Asia and Central America in a diverse range of settings with a focus on quality of primary healthcare for all whether in a busy urban setting or a fragile humanitarian or refugee setting.
This role has management & operational responsibility for all finance, HR and office administration processes including budgeting, cashflow, VAT, Payroll, recruitment, insurance, and overall management of our bank accounts and treasury. The Finance Manager will also manage the relationship and coordinate with our outsourced financial service providers.
Whilst you will be well supported by other members of the team and be able to access technical advice and inputs from our non-Executive Finance Director and our Accountants, the role will suit a proactive self-starter who is confident and happy working independently on their own initiative. This is a rewarding role in a busy, complex, and evolving operating environment which calls for a quick thinking and adaptable individual with excellent attention to detail and rigour, who can make sensible and logical decisions.
Purpose of the role
Bookkeeping, invoicing, expenses and treasury
· Main contact with external accountants and manage working relationship with outsourced bookkeepers.
· Act as signatory and be the main contact for PCI bank accounts.
· Manage the bank accounts and provide required information to be updated on Xero by the bookkeepers as appropriate.
· Raise customer invoices on Xero as authorised by the Programmes Team
· Ensure adherence to schedule of delegated authority for different team members for the processing of payments.
· Make international payments via business banking or other platforms as needed.
Payroll
· Manage relationship with outsourced payroll services team and ensure they have the necessary information required to process payroll calculations.
Budgeting, reforecasting, cashflow, ad hoc financial reporting
· Ensure financial integrity by coordinating and monitoring suite of key financial controls.
· Coordinate new financial year budget cycle with input from wider team and summarise for senior management and board review.
· Related ad hoc activities may include performing financial modelling, uprate rolling cashflow for review and the support of project audits.
Statutory accounts & Tax
· Manage relationship with outsourced audit team, and coordinate requirements for production of the organisation’s annual accounts.
· Present final accounts to board for final sign off at annual AGM.
· Fulfil statutory obligations in line with corporation tax requirements for HMRC.
· Ensure compliance with VAT requirements.
Governance
· Leading on the arrangements for Board Meetings including developing the agenda, collating documentation, minute taking and circulation of minutes.
Administration
· Working as a central point of contact through phone and email.
· Supporting the delivery of contracts and letters of agreement in collaboration with the programmes team.
· Supporting recruitment and onboarding processes with the programmes team.
Person criteria
Essential
1. Demonstrated finance qualification, ideally ACA/CA or ACCA. Undergrad degree in Accounting with considerable relevant experience will also be considered.
2. Strong experience in all aspects of financial management, accounting and tax.
