We’re looking for our first Director of Operations: a strategic, hands-on leader who can turn vision into action and passion into plans. Working closely with our new CEO, you’ll ensure that our people, systems, and processes all work together to deliver effectively for the communities we serve.

We exist to address the unmet needs voiced by the neuroendocrine cancer community, supporting patients and their loved ones with the physical and psychological burden of neuroendocrine cancers. Key Responsibilities
- Operational Oversight and Delivery
- Lead and manage a small in-house operations team (2 staff members) and oversee the work of external consultants as required to deliver operational plans aligned with strategic goals.
- Drive the successful delivery of existing services, overseeing day-to-day operations, ensuring services are delivered efficiently and to a high standard while supporting the implementation of new initiatives and improvements.
- Ensure systems and processes are fit for purpose and support delivery of strategic goals.
- Management and maintenance of the Salesforce system.
- Maintain oversight of service development, ensuring it reflects user feedback and sector innovation (with Directors/Managers).
- Lead audits and evaluations to ensure service effectiveness and continuous improvement.
2. Governance and Compliance (working with CEO)
- Maintain compliance with all relevant legislation, including safeguarding, data protection, and health & safety.
- Develop and oversee policies and procedures that uphold good governance, safeguarding, GDPR, digital governance, and ethical standards.
- Act as Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) and Data Protection Officer (DPO).
- Provide assurance to the CEO and Board on compliance and operational risk.
3. Financial Stewardship and Operational Management
- Support the CEO in ensuring financial sustainability.
- Oversee day-to-day budgeting, financial reporting, and grant management.
- Ensure timely processing of payments, payroll, and contracts.
- Support income generation through sound financial planning and operational oversight.
- Review all processes, procedures & delegations and suggest updates as necessary.
4. People and Organisational Development
- Support the CEO to recruit and induct staff.
- Work with CEO to oversee HR matters including performance management (with HR support).
- Prioritise staff wellbeing, engagement, and professional development.
- Support the CEO in succession planning and building organisational resilience.
5. Service Quality and Improvement
- Work with relevant management team to ensure high-quality service delivery aligned with user needs and feedback.
- Monitor performance and report on impact to CEO and trustees.
- Drive operational improvements and support the development of new initiatives.
6. Insight, Data, and Continuous Improvement
- Collect, analyse, and report operational data to support decision-making.
- Oversee monitoring, evaluation, and audits to ensure accountability and learning.
- Support research and innovation projects by ensuring operational systems are robust and effective.

The Policy and Campaigns Officer will develop policy positions and campaigns that will help ensure that the needs, rights and priorities of those living with DMD are understood and acted on by decision makers, policy makers, parliament and government. The Officer will work closely with colleagues in the Policy and Communications team to support a cohesive and impactful approach to policy, engagement and communications.
Job Description
- To ensure that the charity’s policy and campaigning work is firmly grounded in the views and experiences of the DMD community and to ensure that they are consulted and involved in the development (and delivery where appropriate) of Duchenne UK’s policy positions and campaigns.
- To maximise the benefits of our existing relationships with civil servants, parliamentarians, policy makers, relevant organisations (such as NICE) and charity sector professionals and to create new relationships which help us to achieve our aims.
- To organise events and parliamentary activity working with parliamentary supporters and the DMD community.
- To devise low-budget campaigns aimed at creating positive change in policy, practice or attitudes that will improve the lives and outcomes of those living with DMD.
- To create campaign assets such as digital and social media content in collaboration with the communications team.
- To draft consultation responses, policy positions and occasional short reports summarising the findings of research we have conducted or commissioned.

Essential experience:
- Experience of working in a policy and/or campaigning role.
- Experience of writing for a range of audiences and using different channels to produce convincing, clear and succinct content across a range of platforms such as blogs, web and print.

The Role
The Communications, Engagement and Advocacy Manager will lead the day-to-day delivery of the Trust’s communications, advocacy, and engagement work. Crisis is the national charity for people experiencing homelessness. We have embarked on our 10-year strategy for ending homelessness. We know it is not inevitable. We know together we can end it.

About the role
As an Engagement and Assessment Worker, you will be the first point of contact for someone who comes to Crisis for help to prevent or end their homelessness. You will:
- Welcome them to the service on site and at partner agencies,
- Listen carefully and non-judgementally to their story,
- Complete thorough Crisis and Mainstay assessments using a trauma informed approach,
- Agree realistic options and the support needed to assist them to prevent their homelessness or a pathway out of homelessness.
- Help them formulate a holistic plan and help them take the initial steps, where necessary.
- Hold a caseload of members who require short term intervention to end their homelessness.
About you
- Experience of working successfully with disadvantaged/or socially excluded groups and individuals, utilising a psychologically informed approach.
- Ability to deliver excellent customer service, ensuring accessible, welcoming, and safe ‘front of house’ environment in a busy service.
- Experience of assessing presenting needs, and an understanding of strengths-based assessments. You will have empathy and understanding of the barriers to accessing services.
- Ability to manage successful relationships with external agencies and relevant service providers and successfully advocate on members behalf.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills used to ensure accurate record keeping on a variety of Case Management Systems/Databases.
- Excellent organisation and prioritisation skills, with the ability to successfully manage a busy and diverse workload.
- The ability to use your own initiative to contribute to the effective running of the service and to work flexibly as part of a team.

UK for UNHCR, the UK partner of the United Nations High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR), is seeking an Individual Giving leader to shape the future of Individual Giving at the organisation and unlock long-term, sustainable income growth.
UNHCR stands alongside people forced to flee their homes, advocating for their rights and raising funds to support their protection, dignity and futures. UNHCR’s work has never been more important – by the end of 2024, a record 122.6 million people were displaced, with children accounting for 40% of all forcibly displaced people
UK for UNHCR (UK4U) builds solidarity and raises funds in the UK for refugees worldwide - last year UK4U raised a total income of £25.5 million and continues to build on strong foundations since its beginnings in 2019.
The charity is now seeking a Director of Individual Giving in a new and exciting opportunity to explore how UK4U can expand on these foundations, with a focus on increasing the sustainability of the donor base and maximising lifetime value, as well as identifying opportunities for transformational income growth.
The role will be responsible for leading a team of 12 people and strategic leadership for all fundraising from the UK public, including mid-value and legacy supporters, and covering both digital and offline channels. The post-holder will utilise market insight, data intelligence and an innovative approach to design a high-performing long-term Individual Giving strategy that puts UK4U’s supporters and refugee communities at the heart of everything they do.
The ideal candidate will have substantial experience of leading successful, large-scale multi-million-pound Individual Giving programmes and proven leadership experience at a senior, strategic level. You will have a strong track record of fostering innovation in Individual Giving, alongside the experience shaping strategy and making significant investment decisions.
You will also have a deep understanding of the UK Individual Giving fundraising market across all channels and of programmes that focus on value, high average gift rates and mid-value programmes. Finally, you will be an inclusive and empowering leader with a strong commitment to the refugee cause. Experience of fundraising for international humanitarian and development causes would be an advantage, as well as understanding of mid-value programmes.

We are seeking a Scientific Communications and Content Assistant to join our talented Scientific Communications Team during an exciting period of growth and change for both charities.
The Scientific Communications and Content Assistant will support us to deliver our scientific communications strategy by helping to draft, design and publish engaging content for our print and digital platforms. This includes assisting with the creation of visual and written content that effectively convey complex scientific information to our diverse audiences.
