About the role:

This is a rare opportunity to build something from the ground up and see the direct impact of your work on people experiencing homelessness across London. As our first Philanthropy and Major Gifts Officer, you will work closely with the Assistant Director of Fundraising to bring our new strategy to life, shaping how we engage major donors and grow a powerful community of supporters who are motivated to stand alongside Single Homeless Project (SHP) and our clients. Every relationship you build and every gift you secure will help create real opportunities for our clients to move away from homelessness and towards safety, stability and independence.

You will take the lead in developing and managing meaningful relationships with major donors, creating thoughtful and engaging journeys that bring them closer to our work and the difference it makes day to day. Alongside nurturing existing supporters, you will identify and secure new funding opportunities, building a strong and sustainable pipeline of donors and driving forward this new area of income generation within the team. Working collaboratively across SHP, you will connect philanthropists with our services in a way that feels personal, impactful and rooted in the realities of our work, while contributing to the wider fundraising targets that enable us to keep delivering life changing support.

Hybrid working for us means a mix of in office working in Kings Cross and home working. Currently two days in the office (usually Wednesday and Friday) with the rest from home.

• You have experience building relationships with donors, supporters or partners, and know how to turn those relationships into meaningful income or long term support.

The Role:

The Marketing Manager will work closely with Directors and colleagues to drive engagement, growth, income generation, and brand visibility across Schools North East and its associated programmes. As a key member of the leadership team, you will develop and deliver a coordinated marketing and communications approach that supports the charity’s strategic priorities and strengthens its position as the Voice of North East Schools.

Your primary focus will be the delivery of high-quality marketing campaigns, communications, and audience engagement activity across all organisational workstreams. You will play a central role in increasing reach, strengthening stakeholder engagement, supporting revenue growth, and ensuring consistency of messaging across all platforms.

Success in this role requires the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining high standards of creativity, organisation, and delivery. You will be a confident communicator and relationship builder, able to work collaboratively across teams while also taking ownership of projects and campaigns from concept to completion.

Working alongside the Marketing & Communications Officer and wider teams, you will help ensure Schools North East continues to deliver impactful communications, strong audience engagement, and commercially successful campaigns that support the sustainability and growth of the organisation.

The Marketing Manager will drive organisational growth by transforming the "Voice" of Schools North East into an engine for income generation and member retention. You will build upon quality content creation to focus on coherence, ensuring every campaign across events, policy, and memberships is integrated, consistent, and delivers a clear Return on Investment (ROI).

Key Responsibilities: 

Revenue & Growth

• Develop and deliver annual marketing and communications plans aligned to organisational priorities
• Revenue Generation & Commercial Growth: Drive delegate acquisition and membership growth through targeted campaigns to improve conversion rates, delegate numbers, and memberships
• Segmented Engagement: Lead the development of tailored engagement strategies for different stakeholder groups, ensuring communications are purposeful, relevant and aligned to the needs of schools, partners, sponsors and wider stakeholders

About The Noah Jordan Foundation

The Noah Jordan Foundation is a fast-growing UK children’s charity established in memory of Noah, who died in 2024 from POLG mitochondrial disease, a rare and devastating paediatric mitochondrial disorder which can cause severe neurological deterioration and liver failure in children, and for which there is currently no effective treatment or cure.

Following Noah’s death, his family made him a promise: that his legacy would help change the future for children and families affected by mitochondrial disease.

The Foundation was established to deliver that promise through three charitable objectives:

Medical Research

Funding pioneering medical research to improve clinical management, accelerate the development of effective treatments and ultimately help drive progress towards cures for rare paediatric mitochondrial diseases, including POLG-related mitochondrial disorders.

Raising Awareness

Increasing awareness and understanding of mitochondrial disease amongst healthcare professionals, organisations and the wider public through campaigns, events, education and training.

Supporting Children and Families

Providing practical and emotional support to children and families affected by mitochondrial disease through information, resources, services and financial assistance where possible.

Since launching in September 2024, thanks to our incredible community, the Foundation has grown rapidly, raising more than £400,000 in just over 18 months.

The Foundation has already:

• Fully funded a three-year medical research PhD programme into POLG mitochondrial disease at the Mitochondrial Research Group (MRG) at Newcastle University, under the guidance of one of the UK’s leading Professors of Paediatric Mitochondrial Medicine, who also serves as a Charity Medical Advisor to the Foundation.
• Supported affected children, families and organisations across the UK.

The Opportunity

The Noah Jordan Foundation is building towards becoming a nationally recognised force for change within paediatric mitochondrial disease research, awareness and family support.

As the Foundation’s first full-time employee, the Charity Manager will play a key role in shaping the future culture, structure and direction of the organisation.

Reporting directly to the Charity Director and working closely with the Board of Trustees, you will help develop organisational strategy, grow income, strengthen operations, build partnerships and support the long-term sustainability of the Foundation.

About The Clink Charity

The Clink Charity, founded in 2009, aims to prevent and reduce reoffending through training, reintegration, and support. We deliver hospitality and horticulture training behind the prison walls and in the community by creating an environment where our students are supported to gain the skills, confidence and qualifications they need to rebuild their lives.

Since that time, we have trained approximately 5,000 people in prison and delivered 2,600 City & Guilds qualifications in a variety of hospitality and food courses.

What makes The Clink so unique is our post-release support and mentoring programme that reintegrates an offender back into society through assistance with health and mental health issues, housing, employment, family connections and friendships.

The charity operates an award-winning fine-dining restaurant open to the public inside HMP Brixton, training kitchens in the prison estate, horticulture projects at HMP Send and HMP Erlestoke, a commercial bakery in Brixton, and a bespoke delivery service, Catered by Clink.

Additionally, Clink Events is our social enterprise catering business with food produced by the women in HMP Downview and also in an additional kitchen at Herne Hill and then served by alumni on front of house at some of the best venues in London including: the Guildhall, the Science Museum, Cutty Sark, Kew Gardens and the Camden Roundhouse. Our Head of Fundraising & Brand is a vital leadership role within The Clink Charity, responsible for securing the income, profile and partnerships needed to sustain and grow our life-changing work.

This is a broad and influential role, providing strategic leadership across fundraising, communications, marketing and brand. Working within our portfolio of prison and community-based projects, the postholder will help ensure that The Clink's impact is communicated in a compelling and consistent way to funders, supporters, partners and the wider public, while developing sustainable income streams to support our long-term ambitions.

Building on The Clink's strong reputation and proven impact, the Head of Fundraising & Brand will lead the development and delivery of a fundraising and communications strategy that extends beyond grants to encompass major donors, corporate partnerships, individual giving, events and other income opportunities. Through powerful storytelling, audience growth and brand development, they will increase awareness of our work, strengthen engagement with key stakeholders and create new opportunities for fundraising, partnerships and commercial income generation.

Hearing Dogs for Deaf People is seeking an experienced and inspiring fundraising leader to grow community fundraising and events income, helping more people who are deaf or have hearing loss reconnect with the world around them.

Hearing Dogs for Deaf People transforms lives through the unique partnership between a person and a highly trained hearing dog, while also providing practical and emotional support that builds connection, companionship and confidence. As the charity continues to expand its reach and impact, community fundraising, events and volunteering will play a vital role in helping more people access this life-changing support.

Reporting to the Director of Income Generation, you will lead the development and delivery of an ambitious community fundraising and events strategy, driving sustainable income growth and deepening supporter engagement across the UK. Main Purpose and Scope of the Job:

Day to Day Financial Management 

• Regularly review and maintain financial policies and procedures. 

• Review the monthly reconciliations carried out by the SFAO thereby ensuring all transactions are properly and efficiently recorded. 

• Oversee the management and appropriate allocation of Restricted Funds, ensuring the monies are allocated according to the donor’s wishes and ensure that records are always maintained 

• Regularly review and make recommendations for improvements to financial controls and ensuring methods are documented and made clear to staff.

• Support with funding bids and reports back to donors 

• Management of all charity bank accounts, acting as authorised signatory with Banks 

Payroll, Pensions and Tax Management 

• Supervise the payroll process carried out by SFAO 

• Responsible for the effective management Charity’s Pension Scheme

• Ensure payments to HMRC are made accurately and on time, and ensure all available allowances are claimed. 

Budget Process Management 

• Take the lead on preparing the Annual Budget, working closely with SLT to capture all spending plans Develop and run a process which is thorough, consistent and inclusive of all managers. 

• Alongside the Co-Director, present the Draft Budget to Board for approval 

• Present monthly management accounts and Cost Centre reports for all managers

• Work closely with all SLT to ensure they fully understand their budgets and ongoing organisational performance against budget 

• Monitor variations against spend and integrate within an overall Cashflow analysis 

• Recommend corrective actions to Co- Directors and/or Board as necessary 

Statutory Reporting & Charity compliance 

• Act as lead member of staff with the Charity’s Auditors 

• Oversee the preparation of the Annual Accounts plus any supporting papers required to enable an efficient and effective annual audit to take place 

• Maintain fixed asset register and inventory of all equipment contracts/agreements 

• Ensure the Charity is fully compliant with statutory bodies and key external institutions, and act as lead on behalf of the charity with the following bodies: 

• Charity Commission 

• Companies House 

• Pensions Regulator 

• HMRC 

• Valuation Office 

• All Banks 
   

Account Management – Key Suppliers/Contractors 

Insurance 

• Take the lead in managing the insurance renewals process, and ensure that a comprehensive suite of insurances is in place to cover key risks across the Charity 
   

Financial Risk Management 

• Ensure appropriate financial risk management techniques and controls are in place at strategic and operational levels. 

• Develop, update and produce long term cashflow forecasts to evidence that the Charity can operate as a going concern. 

• Provide up-to-date dashboards and reports of the financial position, projections and scenarios, considering the financial implications of alternative business models, advice on new and current business income generation initiatives and analysis of financial risk and performance. 

• Work with the Co-Directors, to ensure that the appropriate processes are in place for the long-term financial viability of the charity, advising on the financial consequences of proposed actions 
   

Governance support to FING Committee and Trustees 

• Assist the Chair of FING Committee (Treasurer) 

• Prepare all associated papers and minutes 

• Prepare finance papers for Treasurer to deliver to Board of Trustees 

• Attend Board of Trustees meetings and present information as requested 
   

General 

• Postholder to adhere to their relevant Code of Ethics as laid down by their professional body, being mindful that adherence to the code takes precedence over charity policy and practice should a conflict ever arise. [NB Sections A + C of the current professional code are applicable.]

• Keep abreast of financial developments across the charity sector and ensure any opportunities for tax reliefs, cost reduction, value for money and more effective systems are seized as appropriate.

• Undertake any other duties as determined by the Co-Directors.

Essential 

• Minimum part qualified accountant or qualified by experience with strong financial management experience, with an ability to understand the practical impact of finance decisions and processes across the whole charity. 

• Specialist knowledge of Charities required, including Charity SORP guidance and procedures, underpinned by strong theoretical knowledge and practical experience. 

• Ability to work with the Co-directors to lead the formulation of long-term financial plans and strategies which will influence the long-term direction of the charity. 

• Experience in developing major finance policy development. 

• Experience in budgeting and financial planning.

• Experience in management accounting. 

• Ability to receive, process and provide highly complex or sensitive financial information including ability to analyse and clearly communicate financial information.

• Strong IT skills including the Microsoft Office suite, in particular Excel, and experience of using databases. 

• Solid organisational skills including consistency, accuracy, and an eye for detail. 

• Experience of line management and supporting and developing staff. 

• Knowledge and understanding of Equity, Diversity & Inclusion practices. 

Desirable  

• Experience in using QuickBooks accounting software is desirable or transferrable knowledge of similar online accounting packages.

THE ROLE

We are looking for a highly organised and proactive Senior Fundraising Officer to join our team on a fixed-term contract.

Working closely with the Director of Fundraising and the Senior Fundraising Lead, you will ensure our high-value corporate partnerships run smoothly, our high-net-worth events are a success and our external pitches are sharp and well-researched. 

This role offers a fantastic opportunity to develop your hands-on experience across corporate, trusts and foundations and individual giving within a fast-growing charity backed by a globally recognised brand.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Research and opportunity generation

• Support the team by researching and keeping abreast of new funding opportunities across trusts, foundations, and corporate prospects.
• Compile background research to help the team evaluate and pursue new business leads.

Funding applications and pitch support

• Assist the Senior Fundraising Lead and Director of Fundraising with writing funding applications.
• Help structure and draft compelling pitch documents to support the team’s new business goals.
• Design and adapt templates for various fundraising documents and pitches.

Partnership coordination

• Take ownership of the day-to-day coordination of our corporate and institutional partnerships, ensuring exceptional donor care and seamless communication with external stakeholders (e.g., tracking partnership metrics, coordinating meetings, monthly data reporting and managing external communications).
• Deliver external logistics, such as school visits and workshops for corporate partners.
• Draft and prepare comprehensive reports for funders, while managing and responding to all ad hoc requests efficiently.

Fundraising operations support

• Be a key, dependable member of the team, supporting various fundraising work streams to ensure targets are met and team effectiveness is maximised.
• Draft supporter newsletters for our donor communications. 
• Coordinate in-person and online events (e.g., roundtables, fireside talks).

• Professional communication: Experience communicating clearly and professionally in person, via email and phone.
• General IT proficiency: Experience using standard office software (such as Microsoft Office and Google Workspace) and a readiness to learn new digital tools.

You might have:

• Research skills: An ability to conduct thorough background research to identify new potential funding opportunities.
• Events and logistics: Experience helping to coordinate events (virtual or in-person), including handling bookings and catering.
• Coordination experience: Experience in a support, coordination, or customer-facing role within a charity, sales, or account management environment.
