The Nuffield Foundation is recruiting an Executive Assistant to work closely with, and support, our Chief Executive, Leadership Team, Trustees and members of our governance committees.
The Executive Assistant will work at the intersection of strategic leadership and effective operational administration, working as a lynchpin within the organisation to provide high level administrative and operational support to the Nuffield Foundation’s Leadership Team (LT) and Chief Executive. They will be a trusted partner responsible for delivering high-level strategic, operational, and administrative support to the CEO and LT.
This will include:
- Scheduling, coordinating and supporting all Trustee and other Committee meetings and events, including the preparation of papers and agendas, taking detailed minutes and tracking agreed actions.
- Managing the CEO’s diary, providing briefings and drafting documents and presentations as required.
- Scheduling, planning and preparation of Leadership, staff and other large/organisation-wide meetings.
- Managing the overall governance calendar, and key governance documents and records.
- Working with the Directors of Strategy, Finance and HR on strategic and operational planning
- Providing diary management and other general administrative support to members of the LT where required.
This role acts an extension of the CEO’s office, ensuring alignment across leadership priorities, and effective and timely follow-through on strategic and operational initiatives.
The successful candidate will be experienced in providing executive and administrative support to leaders, ideally within a similar organisation or setting. They will demonstrate professionalism and a strong work ethic, and will have excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to collaborate with a broad range of colleagues and use tact, discretion, influence and diplomacy when required. They will also have excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to draft correspondence and short papers as well as take minutes of meetings. The ability to demonstrate political acumen and experience of providing company secretary/governance-type support is also desirable.

Trusts and statutory funding is a core part of this model. The postholder will also be responsible for Arts Council England reporting.
With programmes closely aligned to youth sector priorities and policy initiatives, this role offers the opportunity to build on solid foundations and contribute to the organisation’s next phase of growth.
As Senior Trusts and Statutory Manager, you will:
- Lead and manage a successful team (Trusts and Statutory Manager and Coordinator), delivering and growing the team’s £600k annual income target
- Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of trust and statutory prospects by crafting compelling proposals, narratives, and packages of support
- Steward key long-term funder relationships, including Arts Council England, and take responsibility for accurate reporting and statutory funding compliance
- Identify and shape new funding opportunities across a broad portfolio, including youth employability, mental health, creative skills, and inclusion
- Collaborate closely with colleagues across Fundraising, Programmes, and Evaluation to ensure projects are designed with purpose, evidence, and impact
- Represent Roundhouse confidently and professionally in meetings with trustees, funders, and senior stakeholders
Ideal skills and experience:
- Proven success in securing high five- or six-figure grants from trusts, foundations, or statutory funders
- Strong track record of creatively packaging compelling cases for support that align funder interests with organisational priorities
- Experience managing and growing funder relationships with a strategic and entrepreneurial approach
- Experience managing teams (formal or dotted-line) with a collaborative and supportive leadership style
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, a skilled storyteller capable of crafting persuasive funding proposals and impactful reports
- Confidence engaging with senior stakeholders, including board members, funders, and programme leads
- Experience in youth sectors is desirable, as is familiarity with funders such as Paul Hamlyn Foundation, Garfield Weston, and bigger strategic funders

People’s Palace Projects (PPP) is a research-led arts charity based at Queen Mary University of London (QMUL) and a National Portfolio Organisation (NPO) of Arts Council England (ACE). We develop collaborative arts-based projects with artists, activists, academics, policy advocates, and audiences to address social and climate injustices in the UK, Brazil and beyond. In this role, you will:
- Set the strategic direction for WaterAid’s internal communications. Drive execution of this strategy to ensure staff are informed and inspired, engaged, empowered and connected to each other and the mission.

Governance Administrator & Clerk to the Board Vacancy
The Governance Administrator & Clerk to the Board will provide an exceptionally high level of governance and administrative support to the School’s Boards and Committees and the Board of Directors for Rambert Grades (a joint venture between the School and Rambert). The post-holder will utilise current and relevant technology and AI (such as Microsoft 365 Bookings and CoPilot) to schedule meetings, prepare agendas and supporting papers and take accurate and detailed minutes, to help ensure good governance and compliance.
This job requires a meticulous individual, with a flair for writing accurate and detail-oriented minutes. The postholder will have excellent organisational skills, an appetite for hard work, an eye for detail and a desire to work in the Higher Education or Charity sector. They will actively promote and uphold the School’s mission and values and will always exercise a high level of good judgment, diplomacy and discretion, in respect of the confidential and often sensitive information that they are party to. ABOUT THE ROLE
Variety is looking for a PR and Communications Manager to join our growing team and take responsibility for our communications strategy to support fundraising, programmes and brand activities. It is an exciting time to join the charity as we have laid the groundwork over the last year to improve our marketing and communication channels and have ambitious plans to double our charity size, to fund life-changing practical support for disabled and disadvantaged children and young people across the UK.
We have a new Director of Fundraising and Communications in place who you will work closely alongside, and your work will be across three areas: content creation including the website, PR and social media. Key to success is putting children’s stories at the heart of our communication and you will need to work independently, guiding the Social Media Officer and freelancers, playing a key role in our collaborative and high-performing team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
•Content creation – identify and gather beneficiary stories and create compelling content for Variety’s communication channels
•PR – develop a network of supportive media contacts and partners to effectively promote our work and proactively target journalists, writing and delivering press releases as needed
•Social media – oversee the social media calendar and have responsibility for the social content and channels. Have managerial responsibility for the Social Media Officer, ensuring content is planned in and comments are monitored with occasional weekend cover
•Interview beneficiaries of Variety, meeting family members, working with external agents (photographers, filmmakers) as necessary to give beneficiaries the best experience while gathering the most relevant information for story telling
•Produce stories with the Director of Fundraising and Communications in the best formats, ensuring brand compliance and accessibility
•Ensure consent is obtained at every stage of content gathering and materials are stored securely in line with GDPR legislation and Variety’s privacy policy
•Monitor and analyse our channels to identify trends and areas to improve
•Work with the Director of Fundraising and Communications on marketing and brand awareness campaigns
•Attend Variety events, maximising engagement and representing the charity
•Manage the communications budget and ensure when using freelance or agency providers we have competitive rates
•Manage email marketing, including creating a monthly newsletter and expanding our reach by building our mailing list
•Manage the website content, ensuring brand consistency and working with external suppliers to manage any website improvements and SEO performance.

About you and the role
The purpose of this role is to manage operational delivery of our School by School Programme, ensuring efficient and effective delivery.
You will be supported by our Chief Innovation Officer, and manage our Chef Trainers delivering our School by School interventions. You will work closely with the Director of Partnerships & Impact, our School Engagement Manager and our Research Supervisor.
Your role will oversee our School by School interventions, delivered across multiple school sites. This role will be primarily focused in London, but will include supporting schools in locations across the UK as we develop new hubs. Work closely with the Chef Trainers to ensure our advice to, and work in, schools is legally compliant.

Support the Chef Trainers in monitoring legal safety compliance in schools, promptly flagging major concerns to the Chief Innovation Officer and where appropriate, the key school contact.

Ensuring learning and evaluation is embedded in our programme delivery, working with the Chef Trainers to document best practice learnt from each programme.

UK hybrid working – a minimum of 40 % of working time is spent face-to-face (London office, external meetings or travel).
60/40 hybrid working at WaterAid means roughly three days wherever you work best and two days together in person.

About the team
The Media team strategically leads on both proactive and reactive media, supporting WaterAid’s fundraising, partnerships, brand awareness and political influencing & systems change strategic priorities. The team are responsible for outreach to a range of media in the UK and globally – across traditional, consumer and digital.
The team works with Country Programmes and work on global media outreach with WaterAid Member Offices, operate a 24/7 media hotline and manages areas of reputational risk.
The Media Team consists primarily of 4 functions – News, PR, Celebrity Ambassador, and Global News. The Interim role would manage a team of 11 people and three direct line reports. The Celebrity Ambassador function sits within the team but line management of the Celebrity & Influencer Lead is with the Global & UK Director of Communications.
About the role

As Interim you will lead and work with the Media team to explore and encourage new approaches including how we further maximise the digital media landscape.
The role is pivotal in working with key stakeholders across the organisation in fundraising, global adcoacy and campaigns, and the Communications leadership team, to ensure media strategies are not only aligned and integrated with strategic fundraising engagement and advocacy priorities – but also bold and innovative.
In this role, you will:
- Champion, inspire and lead a high-performing, highly motivated team.
- Line management of the Senior News Manager, Senior PR Manager and Global Media Specialist.
- Management of the Media Team budget, ensuring budget is being used for greatest impact.
- Ensure that media work is strategic, helping to build engagement amongst target audiences and aligned to organisational objectives specifically to amplify our advocacy, influencing and fundraising goals. Set and review performance against agreed indicators in order to measure impact.
- Lead the team to continue to build a reactive and opportunistic media presence by seizing media opportunities, generating stories and news angles, and creating timely, impactful, appropriate responses to drive relevance of WaterAid within target audiences.
- Build and maintain relationships with key journalists and target media, helping bring the water and sanitation crisis to a wider audience and establishing WaterAid as the sector leader in this area.
- Grow the capabilities and approach to digital PR within the team.
- Work collaboratively with the Communications Senior Management Team to set and ensure clarity on roles and responsibilities of the Media team, to foster an integrated approach.
- Work closely with colleagues across the WaterAid family (country programmes in particular) to advise and support on media work when required.
To be successful, you will need:
Essential skills
- Experience of leading, managing and motivating a Media team.
- Experienced manager of people with proven ability to manage and motivate others.
- Track record of designing and delivering influential and impactful media campaigns that achieve coverage in international, national, regional, trade and online media.
- Excellent news sense and an understanding of what makes a good story for different types of media and audiences.
- Understanding of the role that media can play in shaping the political and public policy agenda, and experience of working in this critically important area.
- Strong understanding of international development communications, marketing, fundraising and advocacy activities and how media activity fits with these and can complement and advance them.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills with the ability to build partnerships with key stakeholders and influence at senior levels.
- Strong relationship builder and experience of working to deliver to multiple teams’ objectives; ability to prioritise and drive integration and alignment between activities
Desirable skills
- Experience of working across the communications mix more broadly.
- Experience in digital PR and managing this aspect within a team.
- Understanding of how AI can be used in the media landscape.
