Job Description
As the Operations and Visitor Experience Manager, you play a pivotal role at CSC, with full
responsibility for our Centre in Cambridge Science Park and our secondary site, currently in
Wisbech.
An essential part of your role is to drive CSC’s direct revenue streams connected to the Centre.
You will lead your team in generating public and school bookings, and in overseeing community
audiences, private hires, and other groups, ensuring every visitor enjoys a seamless and
welcoming experience. You will also take a proactive approach to increasing visitor numbers,
expanding CSC’s membership base, and researching and developing new revenue-generating
initiatives that strengthen our long-term sustainability.
Your expertise in creating and implementing exhibition spaces will be instrumental in bringing to
life our annual delivery calendar of science themes, which is strategically curated to attract and
engage our audiences while supporting the delivery of our Programmes. You will oversee an
annual budget covering the shop and site facilities.
You will work closely with the Outreach and Innovation Manager to prioritise, schedule, and
maintain products and content in line with CSC’s core Programmes and commitments, ensuring
impactful experiences for all audiences. In collaboration with the Marketing and Communications
Manager, you will plan and execute advertising campaigns targeting both the public and schools.
You will also coordinate with the Corporate Partnerships Manager to develop opportunities for
corporate partners to support on-site exhibitions and events, ensuring agreed partnerships are
effectively tracked and delivered.
Beyond operations, you will champion excellence in STEM engagement, providing both positive
and constructive feedback to the Engagement and Logistics Lead to ensure CSC’s offerings
remain best-in-class. This is an opportunity to shape the visitor experience at CSC, ensuring it
remains dynamic, inspiring, and accessible to all.
Key Responsibilities
● Create a welcoming and engaging environment for all visitors to our centres.
● Support and line-manage the Delivery and Sales Administrator and the Finance and
Operational Support Manager.
● Take overall responsibility for Health and Safety across CSC sites, ensuring full compliance
with requirements at both centres. Implement corrective actions where needed, and
oversee training and incident management to maintain a safe and well-managed
environment.
● Achieve annual direct income revenue targets across Visitors, Membership, Shop, Schools,
Parties, and STEMtots (under-fives), track progress, report findings, and take corrective
action as needed.
● Develop and implement strategies to increase visitor numbers and drive membership
growth.
● Research, plan, and execute new revenue projects to diversify CSC’s income streams.
● Oversee asset records, maintenance priorities, budgets, contractors, and expenditures
across the Cambridge and Wisbech sites, ensuring the effective sourcing and delivery of
third-party exhibits and content.
● Deliver an annual plan for exhibition-floor themes, events, and site management,
coordinating with the Outreach and Innovation Manager and the Engagement and Logistics
Lead to align activities with multi-year programmes, partner commitments, and internal
schedules such as training and exhibit maintenance.
● Establish a multi-layered feedback system to collect, analyse, and act on visitor insights,
continuously enhancing our offering.
● Oversee CSC’s volunteering and work experience programme, ensuring recruitment,
induction, and ongoing support are delivered to a high standard.
● Work with the Director of Business Development to identify and address barriers for
schools, supporting bursary applications and additional funding opportunities.
● In coordination with your team, ensure the shop is stocked with appropriate products to
maximise sales, support at-home engagement with STEM after a family visit and promote a
message of sustainability.
● Increase school bookings through strategic planning, aligning with schools’ annual planning
cycles, targeted outreach, and the effective delivery of engagement programmes.
● Work with the Marketing & Communications Manager to plan and deliver advertising for
exhibitions, events, and school engagement, ensuring effective promotion of activities at
both the Cambridge and Wisbech centres.
● Manage the budget and oversee all contractors and expenditures related to the Cambridge
site and Wisbech.
● Provide financial support, working closely with the Director of Operations and Engagement
to ensure CSC’s operational sustainability.

Working Conditions

The primary location for this role is Cambridge Science Centre at Trinity Centre, Cambridge
Science Park, CB4 0FN; however, travel to secondary sites and the main office will be required.
One working weekend per month will also be required.

About the role

This role will provide leadership and management for CCLC particularly focused on the Legal Practice Unit’s legal aid billing operations. Through systematic and efficient management, the post-holder will play a pivotal role in CCLC’s financial and operational sustainability. The role will be accountable for maximising the unit’s legal aid billing in controlled work, certificated work and inter partes costs and will hold responsibility for the unit’s billing systems. It will also be responsible for private fees billing. The post-holder will oversee the smooth running of legal aid billing including through line management of the billing team. The post-holder will work very closely with legal, operations and administrative staff. The role will act as a key point of contact for a range of internal and external stakeholders including Coram’s central finance team who will support the role with grant fund management and overall accounting functions for CCLC. The post-holder will support the Managing Director of Legal Practice and Children’s Rights and department heads in the successful maintenance of our relationship with the Legal Aid Agency. Where appropriate they will be deputising for the Managing Director on legal aid and financial matters.

The role would suit a highly organised and efficient legal, or a finance or billing professional with solid experience of legal practice and a deep understanding of the challenges of legal aid. Whilst candidates with direct experience of legal billing (and more specifically civil legal aid billing) are welcomed, we recognise that this is a highly specialised and niche field. As such, this role could suit a highly experienced solicitor who appreciates the important role developing sustainable businesses plays in ensuring access to justice and who therefore wishes to move into practice and financial management. They will need an aptitude for processing large amounts of data, developing and managing spreadsheets and improving organisational systems. However, they will be well supported through training, an enthusiastic and competent junior billing team, the central finance team and an outsourced legal cashiering company, as well as a friendly and collaborative management team including the Managing Director and the Heads of Education Law, Community Care Law and Immigration and Asylum Law.

This is a largely office-based role in order to fully provide support to the billing team. However, some remote / hybrid working may be possible depending the experience of the candidate after the initial settling in period and there will be flexibility over how the three days will be spread across the week (within working hours). The team are mostly based in the London office and with one billing team member in Colchester so the post holder may require some occasional travel.

The Role

We are seeking an experienced Head of Finance to join our team. This role will  play a pivotal role in ensuring the long term financial health and sustainability of St John’s Foundation and its trading subsidiaries.

Reporting to the Director of Finance, you will lead and take responsibility for our day-to-day financial operations and manage a dedicated team of finance professionals. You will ensure robust financial control, accurate reporting, and effective systems that underpin the charity’s strategic ambitions and operational delivery.

This is a senior, operational leadership role, offering the opportunity to shape our financial systems, guide a talented team, and contribute directly to our mission. You will also manage  the next phase of our finance system implementation.

What You’ll Do

· Manage the finance team, ensuring timely, accurate financial reporting and high standards of control.

· Manage all aspects of financial management — including cashflow, balance sheet integrity, and statutory reporting.

· Lead on the statutory reporting and oversee budget setting and management accounts.

· Manage the next phase of our finance system implementation, embedding process improvements and digital innovation.

· Support the Finance Director with governance, risk management, and strategic financial planning.

· Manage investment and endowment accounting, ensuring compliance and effective performance monitoring.

· Provide insightful analysis and reporting to the Executive Team and the Board of Trustees.

About You

We’re looking for an experienced senior finance professional who combines technical expertise with strong leadership skills.

You will have:

· A recognised accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA or equivalent).

· Proven significant experience in senior finance leadership, including management accounts, budgeting, and statutory reporting.

· Strong technical knowledge of accounting standards and charity finance (including restricted and endowment funds). 

· Demonstrable strong knowledge of financial controls, accounting standards, and (ideally) charity finance.

· Proven experience managing or implementing finance systems or digital transformation projects.

· Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to build trust across all levels.

· A collaborative, proactive, and improvement-focused approach.

Desirable:

· Experience within the not-for-profit or charity sector.

· Knowledge of property and investment accounting.

· Familiarity with cloud-based finance systems.

About the role:

We’re building a Transport Solutions Team that works flexibly across all the tools in our delivery kit – from grants and innovation pilots to research, partnerships, and commercial interventions. Our growing portfolio includes flagship projects tackling challenges such as inclusive EV charging infrastructure, complex community transport needs, and large-scale research like the National Centre for Accessible Transport.

We are now recruiting for three Transport Solutions Managers, one permanent position and two 24 month fixed-term contracts. These roles will lead the design and delivery of high-impact work focused primarily on accessible electric vehicle (EV) charging – a key priority for the Foundation. This is a pivotal role that combines technical understanding, programme delivery, and stakeholder leadership, and is designed to work flexibly across our matrix structure.

While your core focus will be on EV charging, you also may be expected to lead and/or contribute to other transport projects across the transport themes.

This is an opportunity to join a collaborative, purpose-led team driving change in the transport system for disabled people, and to work on some of the most complex and impactful projects in the sector.

What you will be doing:

• Lead the design and delivery of accessible EV charging initiatives, working closely with Programme Directors and partners across government, industry and the charity sector.
• Scope, commission and manage projects related to EV charging – such as pilots, commercial partnerships, research studies or funding opportunities – ensuring alignment to strategic priorities.
• Bring technical and market understanding of EV charging (e.g. standards, installation, interoperability, user experience, accessibility requirements) to shape the Foundation’s approach in this space.
• Manage end-to-end delivery of specific initiatives, including planning, budgeting, due diligence, contracting, risk management, and governance reporting.
• Use insight, evidence and stakeholder engagement to shape new programmes of work and ensure delivery reflects the needs of disabled people.
• Work flexibly across our matrix team, contributing to projects or funding rounds outside your own portfolio as needed, and supporting colleagues with specialist input or delivery resource.
• Build and maintain relationships with key external stakeholders, including OZEV, DfT, BSI, chargepoint operators, local authorities, disability organisations and industry experts.
• Collaborate across the Foundation, including with the Insight & Evaluation, Finance and Communications teams, to ensure high-quality delivery, learning and visibility of our work.
• Bring and apply knowledge in key areas as accessible transport, disability, inclusive innovation, grant making or systems change.
• Support the development and continuous improvement of our delivery models, funding mechanisms and ways of working.

Your experience:

Must haves:

• Experience managing complex projects, ideally in EV charging, transport, or energy sectors.
• Ability to translate technical or policy insight (e.g. standards, user experience, accessibility, or engineering considerations) into practical delivery and funding approaches.
• Experience managing projects or funding opportunities from inception through to delivery, ideally across multiple partners or suppliers.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, with the ability to work effectively across government, industry, and the charity sector.
• Excellent organisational and project management skills, with the ability to deliver multiple, complex workstreams to deadlines.
• Strong analytical capability, able to interpret data, research and qualitative insight to inform recommendations and decision-making.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to produce high-quality reports, business cases, and presentations for senior audiences.
• Confident IT literacy, including Microsoft Office (particularly Excel and PowerPoint).

Nice to haves:

• Understanding of EV charging systems, standards (e.g. PAS 1899), and market dynamics.
• Experience working alongside government, local authorities, or industry partners on projects.
• Familiarity with innovation or funding mechanisms such as pilots, challenge funds, co-design, or commissioning frameworks.

We are seeking a Community Development Officer to lead a major in-progress project improving recognition, support, and care for people with smell and taste disorders at a local level across England. 

This three-year, volunteer-led programme, funded by The National Lottery Community Fund has achieved significant success in its first eighteen months. We are now recruiting a new postholder to take this strong foundation forward through the next phase of delivery. 

Over the past eighteen months, we have recruited and established a thriving network of volunteers and local groups across England. This momentum is expected to continue. The Community Development Officer will work closely with existing volunteers and groups, primarily remotely, while also attending in-person events and meetings in different parts of England as needed. 

The postholder will lead the ongoing recruitment, training, and support of volunteer groups, working with them to identify opportunities for local outreach and engagement. Together, you will ensure that more people affected by smell and taste disorders access the information, support, and recognition they need, while continuing to raise awareness of these often-unrecognised sensory impairments. 

Our volunteer groups bring together people with lived experience alongside experts from the food, beverage and fragrance sectors, and other relevant fields. 

We are looking for a motivated, forward-thinking individual with experience in leading and inspiring others. You will bring energy, creativity, and excellent communication skills to drive the project forward and help build an innovative, sustainable programme of volunteer-led activity, supporting our volunteers to influence change within their communities. 

You will empower volunteers to play an active role in transforming public understanding of how essential smell and taste are to our lives, whether they are running peer support groups, organising local events, delivering talks in community settings, or representing the charity at information days.

The Diocese of Carlisle is looking for a Programme Manager (Maternity Cover) who will:

• Be the Programme Manager for The Cumbrian Way programme including:

o Working closely with the Programme Director to ensure all aspects of programme management are undertaken

o Accountability for the adherence to the Programme Management Office’s programme management systems to assess and ensure budget, risks, issues, progress and impact are reported and escalated in a timely and appropriate manner

o Coordinating the project managers across the programme

o Oversee the management of the Projects and Programme Board and annual reporting

o Have oversight of all aspects of the programme in order to make connections and insights into the work as it progresses.

o Reporting on agreed outcomes by collecting, collating and presenting information as part of programme reporting and monitoring & evaluation

o Support the Programme Director as a point of contact for the national team and in quarterly reporting to the Projects and Programmes Board and other governance group updates

• Support the Church Planting Consultant with project management of the Church Plant workstream, including:

o maintaining & updating project plans/timelines

o monitoring, reporting and reviewing the effectiveness of the project work

o accounting for risk mitigation and issue resolution

o advising and collaborating on project communications

o reporting on agreed outcomes and impact by collecting, collating and presenting information as part of project/programme reporting and monitoring & evaluation

o meeting with the church plant consultant on a regular (at least monthly) basis.

o actively managing the project budget

o supporting local church planting teams with budget claims and outcome reporting

• Oversee the programme management of all areas of the Reaching Deeper SDF funded programme
• Be principal point of contact and manage the relationship with the diocesan research partner, including managing payment drawn downs, agreed pieces of work/briefs and outputs to be delivered.
• Lead and oversee the data collection and impact for diocesan Parish Returns data collection
• Line manage the God for All Programme Management Office team

This is a part time position for 24hrs per week (0.69FTE), fixed term until December 2026.

Job Title: Funding and Income Generation Manager

This is an exciting opportunity to join the organisation in a newly created role at a time when
we’re looking to redesign our fund-raising activities through a mixture of activities and
events, sourcing new and nurturing current corporate partnerships and developing
commercial initiatives by making the most of our current assets.

Reporting directly to the CEO, you will work in partnership with the current Grant Funding
Manager (who is primarily responsible for major grant applications), whilst you will have
responsibility for pursuing a wide range of other income generation opportunities.
This role is perfect for someone with a strong track record in charity income generation who
thrives on working as part of a team yet can also work independently. You will need to be
highly motivated, well organised and have good time management skills, used to working to
targets and comfortable in providing updates and reports to the senior management team.

Based at the Factory in Porth, you’ll need to have your own transport as travel between the
various hubs will be necessary, as well as the occasional visits to potential funders and key
stakeholders.

Main Duties
 To help raise awareness of Valleys Kids and the work we do.
 To identify new sources of income and build on current income streams to support
the work of the charity.
 To provide support to the various business unit managers in their own fundraising
activities.

 To engage with the public, local community groups and businesses to develop
additional sources of income.
 To organise and manage community and corporate fundraising events.
 To attend community and corporate networking events where necessary.

The Sick Children’s Trust is the charity that gives families with a seriously ill child in hospital a comfortable place to stay and a friendly ear to listen in one of our ten ‘Homes from Home’. We are looking for a House Manager who is hardworking and has excellent people skills to manage our ‘Homes from Home’  Stevenson House supporting families at The Royal London Hospital. 

You will be responsible for managing the house including working with the hospital to admit and welcome families, property maintenance, daily administration and compliance such as health and safety, and will be hands on with light domestic duties to prepare rooms for families and ensure the house is maintained to a high standard. 

Your experience to date could come from a variety of sectors and roles such as office administration, facility management, housekeeping or health and care sectors to name a few. What we are looking for are candidates who can: 

• Take the responsibility for running a house and the service it provides
• Manage a small team 
• Carry out checks to ensure compliance to rules and regulations 
• Demonstrate good IT skills
