About the role
In this exciting role you will join the team responsible for the delivery of our iconic flagship appeal, Christian Aid Week. This involves creative development of new and engaging resources and fundraising materials, writing passionate and impactful fundraising messaging, and creating internal excitement and fun during Christian Aid Week. You will also be project managing mini innovation workstreams dedicated to re-imagining Christian Aid Week, allowing you to think outside the box and help grow Christian Aid Week income further.
About you
You are a curious individual keen to innovate the world of fundraising. You have knowledge and experience of delivering successful community fundraising campaigns. You are a confident copy writer, with the ability to influence, inspire, negotiate and build consensus at multiple levels. You are able to work cross-organisationally and to think innovatively and strategically about how to engage Christian Aid supporters.

About the role
You’ll co-develop and implement an inclusive bilingual media and communications programme across traditional, digital and social media and maximise our messaging and campaigning impact in Wales through powerful communications.
You’ll build a sustainable team of proactive volunteers affected by Parkinson’s to energise our communications through their personal stories and participation in communications work.

Maximise coverage for campaigns and fundraising communications in Wales, and produce creative content, including video

Conduct media and social media training for staff and volunteers and produce media briefings to support interviews

This is an exciting role with an opportunity to lead the charity into the 150th Year of delivery and with a new strategy to address need. This is an exciting time to be joining Sidney and support the new senior leadership team’s ambitious plans for the future of the College and its students.
Working with the Development Director, the Development Manager will be responsible for all aspects of our regular giving and young alumni programme:
- Lead a sustainable and effective regular giving programme and increase participation across all year groups through campaigns such as Telethons and Giving Days, sourcing and securing match gifts as needed.
- Face to face fundraising and donor engagement of our small to mid-level donors; cultivating and raising gifts between £1,000 - £10,000 from alumni and friends, managing a pipeline of prospects and building relationships with existing and new prospects.
- Continue developing a student and young alumni programme that offers opportunities for networking and mentoring and encouraging fundraising participation among recent graduates.

An opportunity has arisen to join the central Wildlife Trade team to ensure that good practice and innovation in wildlife trade approaches are effectively integrated and implemented into projects. This is a role based in our UK Headquarters providing technical input and support to our regional programmes, with an initial focus on supporting our projects in the Caribbean and Nicaragua. These projects involve working with local partners to implement interventions based on crime prevention and behaviour change techniques and to build law enforcement capacity.
A team player also able to work on your own initiative, you will have strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to liaise across teams and cultures. You will enjoy applying your critical thinking to complex issues and explaining these in plain and accessible language. You will understand the need for inclusive, collaborative and evidence-based approaches to preventing illegal and unsustainable wildlife trade including, but not limited to, effective crime prevention, community-level responses to illegal wildlife trade, building enforcement capacity and demand reduction.
