Global Programme Manager (Nepal & Myanmar)

The Programme Manager is an exciting and influential role at RCPCH Global, a specialist unit within the College, in which you will lead the management of our maternal and child health programmes in Nepal and Myanmar, with some support for our work in Rwanda. Based in our London office, you will oversee the implementation of the programmes, including the delivery of high-quality programme activities.
As Programme Manager, you will monitor and manage all financial and budgetary aspects of the programme in compliance with donor requirements and take the lead on all programme reporting to donors, maintaining and ensuring high-quality programme monitoring and evaluation processes are adhered to.
Crucially, you will be responsible for liaising with local programme counterparts and stakeholders in the field, which may include regular field visits. You will also take the lead on the recruitment and management of long-term programme volunteer clinicians, as well as short-term advisory consultants, for the programme.
In addition to wider donor liaison, you will help develop new programme grant agreements with a preliminary focus on UNICEF and the James Percy Foundation, as well as promoting RCPCH Global activities to external stakeholders.
Suitably qualified in international development, public health, international and global health, health systems strengthening and child health, or with equivalent work experience, you should have excellent project/programme management skills and have a background in a relevant international/development management or implementation role.
With demonstrable experience of designing, initiating and leading complex programme development processes, including with senior government counterparts, local partner organisations and international and multilateral donor agencies, you should have a significant understanding of budget management and financial reporting, including to bilateral and multilateral donors.
Previous experience of successfully managing large complex programmes, including supporting field-programme teams both remotely and in the field, within the international development and/or health sectors is essential, whilst experience of working in developing countries would be desirable.
Although based in London, this role may include some travel to Nepal. Additional travel to Rwanda as part of support role may be required.
RCPCH Global is a unit within RCPCH which designs and manages a range of international projects and programmes to improve neonatal, child and adolescent health, primarily in sub-Saharan Africa, Asia and the Middle East. Our programmes use teams of skilled clinicians and other health professionals to work with counterparts in targeted low-income countries to train and mentor doctors, nurses and other health workers, as a means of helping to build the capacity and quality of the health systems in those countries.
The Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health sets and maintains standards for the education and training of all doctors working in paediatrics and child health in the UK. We advocate on child health issues at home and internationally. Additionally, through a variety of activities, the College influences the quality of medical practice for children in hospital and in the community.

Karibuni Children, a UK registered charity, works to help Kenyan children from some of the poorest backgrounds, to fulfil their potential and release themselves from the cycle of poverty. At any one time, we are supporting around 700 children across Kenya and our aim is to walk with the children through their whole education. In addition to providing financial support to enable children to attend high-quality educational institutes, we work to reduce other barriers that may prevent those living below the poverty line from maximising their educational potential. Key Responsibilities
- To work as part of our Individual Giving team to develop and deliver a programme (currently made up of warm and cold cause-related postal appeals and raffles) to recruit and retain cash and regular giving supporters to meet financial targets.

The Philanthropy & Partnerships team
In Autumn 2023, Foundling Museum delivered a successful, ambitious capital campaign to secure the future of the Museum through a variety of supporters, from individuals, major supporters and trusts/foundations.
The Philanthropy team is responsible for the funding revenue needs of the Museum, which for 2024-25 is c£800,000, making up approximately 36% of total income.
The post of Philanthropy and Partnerships Manager will deliver against personal targets toward this goal. Remaining income includes Arts Council England National Portfolio funding, NLHF funding, core earned income (admissions) and trading activities (retail and venue hire).
The Philanthropy and Partnerships team collaborates closely with the Director, Chair of Trustees and Development Consultants and across all departments to understand and translate fundable and core activities into compelling cases for support. · Lead and manage the Supporter Journeys mapping and implementation programme across a range of channels and products

Research & Service Development
· Identify individual giving trends and use this knowledge to continually develop new products for the charity
· In line with GDPR and complying with all legislation and the Code of Fundraising Practice: ensure fundraising and campaigns are insight-led and focused on long-term growth
· Oversee the compliance of third party agencies to ensure activity is carried out in line with the values of Life, the Fundraising Code of Practice and the law
· Input fully into the wider fundraising strategy by working closely with fellow managers and the team as a whole
Information Management
· Ensure data and information systems are up to date and provide an accurate picture of supporter segmentation, communications, preferences, permissions, requests, gifts and pledges
· Create regular and detailed reports to monitor individual giving performance against campaigns and targets
· Support the maintenance of the database to ensure records are updated, procured and implemented.
Personal and People Development
· Ensure personal continuing professional development is maintained, including attending relevant internal and external development training and workshops.
· Ability to manage own objectives and areas of responsibility within charity projects to ensure deadlines and financial targets are met.
· The post holder will be expected to liaise within the team and with key stakeholders as well as supervising specific projects and campaigns.
Line management responsibility for the Fundraising Insight & Database Officers, providing day to day management support, appraisals and objective setting, as well as working with these postholders on their own personal and career development.

Main Purpose and Scope of the Role
The Marketing and Communications Manager will be highly motivated, and results driven. You will play a pivotal role in developing and implementing a strategy to enhance Action4Youths profile. This role is key in promoting brand awareness, engaging audiences, driving traffic and will enable the success of increased sales and fundraising.
You will lead on the creation of engaging content plans to promote Action4Youth’s work to multiple audiences, across multiple channels including PR, web, social media, e comms and print to increase engagement amongst partners, supporters and donors.
This job combines management responsibilities with being hands on and will suit someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and who is practical and able to get things done effectively.
Key areas of responsibility:
Strategy
- Supported by the Development Director, lead on the development and implementation of our marketing and communications strategy to position the charity and influence its many audiences.
- Develop engaging campaigns and events, from inception to implementation, to grow brand awareness, sales of our programmes and facilitate community fundraising.
· Lead on the formation of engaging and creative project plans to activate successful campaigns across all channels.
Marketing
· Take overall responsibility for the production and implementation of creative and compelling multimedia content, including, scheduling, reporting and analysis for driving and improving results.
· Analyse and report performance metrics and insights by producing regular performance, reach, engagement, conversions, and ROI reports in order to monitor the effectiveness of digital activity.
· Ensure the website works for optimum customer and visitor journey to improve analytics and ensure content and pages are easily accessible.
· Create and co-ordinate digital advertising and email marketing activity to support campaigns and organisational goals and provide reports to monitor effectiveness.
- Collate and prepare all marketing materials for a range of print collateral to support the charities work and define distribution and dissemination channels.
Communications
· Be the PR and media lead by planning, developing, and implementing PR and media strategies.
- Generate story-worthy press releases to facilitate coverage, increase awareness of all areas of service provision and elevate campaigns.
· Work collaboratively with the media and build strong relationships with key press and community figures via networking and events.
- Plan press and photo opportunities and attend events to optimise engagement.
- Develop and implement regular E-comms to different audiences by building strong and compelling email campaigns.
Other
· Monitor and report on performance against monthly KPIs and objectives and ensure planned expenditure is within budget.
- Monitor and evaluate the success of all marketing activities and use outcomes to inform and shape the future of our initiatives.
- Oversee media monitoring systems
- and ensure compliance with GDPR/Data Protection.
- Line manage the Marketing Executive and provide effective support and development.
- Work closely with Senior Management Team and other Action4Youth colleagues to effectively prioritise communications from the charity.
- Proactively build relationships with the wider statutory and voluntary partners across the charity’s areas of operation.

Skills, Experience and Knowledge
At least 5 years’ experience in a PR and /or marketing function (agency or client).
A proven track record of managing media relations and planning successful PR campaigns.
Extensive knowledge of digital media across all platforms, including web, socials and E-comms and implementing and managing campaigns.
Experience of developing and delivering multimedia campaigns to multiple audiences.
Experience of managing budget planning and allocating resource.
Strong written and verbal skills across all delivery platforms: PR, socials, web and E-comms. With the ability to write creative and engaging copy.
Experienced in using scheduling tools such as Hootsuite and Later (Desirable)
Experience of collating and utilising analytics to inform future development.
Experience of leadership and managing and developing a team.
Experience of the charitable sector. (Desirable)
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to build and maintain relationships.
Experience of creating compelling and engaging marketing collateral through software such as Canva. (Desirable)
Qualifications
Educated to degree level
Evidence of professional development/Masters degree and CIPR or CIM (Desirable)
