About the Role:

Here at Construction Youth Trust, we're on the lookout for enthusiastic individuals who are excited to learn and ready to dive into a supported internship. This is a fantastic chance to get a hands-on feel for what it's like to work in the charity sector. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to the wider development of the Trust e.g. participation in strategic working groups.

We are particularly looking for individuals at the start of their career interested in working directly with young people within our Delivery Team. Also, as one of our interns, you'll gain valuable skills to kickstart your career, with the prospect of progressing into a Coordinator role with us. Plus, you'll have an internal buddy to support you and help you settle in throughout your internship.

As a Delivery Team Intern, your key duties and responsibilities could include:

· Supporting the team to deliver fun and engaging programmes and activities for young people (primarily in schools/colleges and with employers) to get them ready for the working world by building on their skills and confidence.

· Supporting the team in the development of effective long-term working relationships with schools and referral partners.

· Supporting the team to enlist, manage and coordinate the support of local industry partners to connect young people with opportunities and employers that match their unique strengths and interests.

· Supporting the team with administrative tasks, helping to register, monitor, and evaluate the young people participating in programmes and activities.

· Please note that you will be required to travel across London regularly

About You

The Construction Youth Trust team works in a fast-paced environment, what we are looking for in our new Intern(s) includes:

· Enthusiastic about connecting young people to opportunities, particularly those facing barriers to work.

· Good organisational skills, detail orientated and proactive in finding solutions.

· Have a ‘can-do’ attitude, as our Intern you will be expected to get involved in a variety of our programmes and activities.

Key Responsibilities 

• Deliver One-to-One Support: Provide impartial, confidential advice on academic concerns (appeals, complaints, disciplinaries), housing issues, financial support, and personal or welfare-related challenges. 
• Support in Crisis: Offer guidance and emotional support to students experiencing difficult or distressing circumstances, such as mental health issues, sexual violence, harassment, or financial insecurity. 
• Create and Share Resources: Develop accessible self-help materials (articles, videos, workshops) to empower students and reduce reliance on one-to-one services. 
• Promote the Service: Take part in outreach activities, including campaigns, events, and training, to raise awareness and improve access to advice and support. 
• Track and Report Issues: Use our case management system to record casework clearly and securely and help monitor trends in student issues to inform future campaigns. 
• Collaborate and Contribute: Work closely with colleagues across UMSU to support key periods like Welcome Week and elections, contributing to a supportive and inclusive student experience.

Previous experience in advice, welfare, support work, or student services is helpful, but we welcome applications from those with transferable skills and a genuine passion for student support.

About the job

We are looking to recruit a Grants and Foundations Officer to join Caritas Salford’s fundraising team. You will be part of a team that is passionate about tackling poverty and inequality, where your work will have a real and visible impact. Your focus will be on maintaining and growing income from charitable trusts and statutory agencies.

As a Grants and Foundations Officer, you will work closely with senior managers and service managers, researching potential funders, securing funding from trusts, foundations and other potential funding partners. As well as building and stewarding lasting relationships that will help sustain and grow Caritas’ mission. We will support your development, helping you grow your fundraising skills, take on complex projects and help shape bids for commissioned services.

You will have excellent interpersonal skills, strong research and analytical expertise, be highly organised and confident in using IT systems and digital tools for research, communication and data management. Additionally, you will have the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with a range of stakeholders, plus a willingness to learn from others about fundraising and social impact.

37.5 hours per week. Monday to Friday with occasional evening and weekends required.

You will coordinate the Social Homes for Manchester campaign coalition and implement our strategy for strengthening the housing justice movement in Manchester and across GM. You will lead on organising community workshops and events raising awareness about campaign asks and the Manchester Local Plan consultation process.

You will convene workshops and events focused on building the capacity of a network of ward-based community coalitions to understand housing and planning policy and process. This might include how local development applications are compiled, submitted, decided on; and strategies for ensuring appropriate levels of Section 106 contributions and social rent homes are included in development applications.

You will work with the Social Homes for Manchester Steering Group and community leaders to provide coordination support to at least one neighbourhood planning process and efforts to encourage community-led housing innovations.

You will create a new set of webpages focused on provision of transparent and accessible information on housing need, upcoming developments, and performance against housing targets at ward and city scale.

About you

• You have excellent relationship building skills and experience of working with disadvantaged groups of people to take collective action to achieve positive outcomes for people and communities.
• You enjoy organising activities and events in response to community priorities, interests and needs.
• You have an organised and strategic mindset and the professionalism to foster positive working relationships between community, voluntary, and public sector organisations and representatives.

About Social Homes for Manchester (SH4M)

• SH4M is a coalition of community associations, charities, think tanks, academics and social justice organisations focused on accelerating the number of social homes that are created in Manchester by 2030 and ensuring this is done in an environmentally sustainable way.
• Much of our work over the last two years has focused on generating an evidence base, influencing strategy, and set of relationships to facilitate influence, including through convening the Manchester Social Housing Commission which concludes in December 2025.
• SH4M is now focused on implementing a two-year strategy including building a network of citizen coalitions across the city of Manchester with the information and capacity to hold decision-makers and providers to account for accelerated delivery of sustainable social rent homes. The Principal Practice Tutor will play a leading role in and delivering Frontline’s Approach Social Work programme, a fast-track master’s in social work.  This is an exciting role for someone who wishes to combine management and leadership responsibilities whilst keeping a close connection to the work of their team by working directly with participants on the programme.  

The role of Principal Practice Tutor is to provide programme leadership and team management ensuring a high-quality teaching experience as well as ensuring excellent participant placement experience by supporting Consultant Social Workers.
