Shannon Trust are delighted to be working with His Majesty’s Prison & Probation Service (HMPPS) to provide peer-led learning programmes at HMP The Mount. Working closely with the prison and their staff, people in prison, Shannon Trust volunteers and mentors, this post will lead the delivery and development of our prison-based reading and numeracy programme, maximising opportunities for people in prison to learn to read.
Ideally you will have some experience of prison settings underpinned by the ability to build relationships and personal qualities that include resilience, determination and a problem-solving approach.
This role will be prison based. The Role

The Role:
SCI is looking for a highly motivated and experienced Senior Press Officer to lead on its external and social media engagement strategy.
You will lead SCI’s engagement with media outlets – including national papers, trade publications and broadcast – to increase our public profile, promote our work and build support for our campaign to accelerate the commercialisation of the UK’s science base.
You will manage SCI’s press office on a day-to-day basis – scanning the media and political landscape to find opportunities for SCI to leverage its unique expertise and perspective as an organisation at the intersection of science and business. Be responsible in the designated area for:
- Delivery of one-to-one and group peer support sessions designed for and by adult carers
- Collecting data and reporting on direct work delivered with adult carers

Job Description
Catch22 is looking for a compassionate leader to join our growing Greater Manchester Victim Services as Deputy Head of Service. You will oversee the day-to-day operations of the service, ensuring the effective delivery of support for victims and witnesses as you help them on their journey to recovery.
Reporting to the Head of Service, you’ll provide line management to team leaders and administrators, implement systems for quality service delivery, and manage recruitment, training and supervision. You’ll work closely with police and other criminal justice partners to maintain strong referral pathways and ensure our services remain seamless and effective in its support for those that have experienced crime in the Greater Manchester area.
You will also contribute to strategic service development, quality assurance, safeguarding, and continuous improvement across the team. Your leadership will drive a culture of collaboration, learning and excellence.
Qualifications
The ideal post-holder will have:
A strong educational background, including English and Maths at GCSE level.
Proven experience managing and supporting teams in high-impact environments.
A track record of working with vulnerable individuals in multi-agency settings.
Confidence in performance management, risk assessment, and safeguarding practices.
Excellent communication, organisation, and IT skills.
A recognised management qualification or willingness to work towards one.
Knowledge of the victim and witness support system and a good understanding of the criminal justice landscape are highly desirable.

Role Requirements
· Develop and deliver JustMoney Movement’s core fundraising strategy for small organisational/ institutional donors (donations/ grants of between £1-5k) targeting small trusts, organisations, corporates and churches.
· Work with senior staff to create a ‘case for support’ for JustMoney Movement’s overall strategy.
· Identify, develop and steward relationships with aligned small trusts, organisations, corporates and churches (in conjunction with other staff, especially the Executive Director [ED] and Director of Movement Building [DMB]).
· Design and implement the initial year of an annual programme of fundraising communications with these audiences including proposals, stewardship and reporting.
· Work closely with the ED and DMB to ensure prospects are passed on for a bespoke approach where appropriate.
· Help to set realistic targets for the ‘foundation’ 12/18 months, and take responsibility for meeting these, providing regular updates to senior staff and trustees.
· Maintain contacts and work with others in the team to develop appropriate systems and processes to support this area of fundraising.
Person specification
Essential
· Empathy with JustMoney Movement’s vision and work.
· Experience of leading one or more of the following areas of fundraising for a charity:
o Small trusts and foundations
o Corporate/ organisational
o Churches
· Experience of developing a Case for Support.
· Creative and imaginative thinker finding new opportunities to reach new potential funders.
· Exceptional organisational skills, including attention to detail and the ability to multi-task.
· Persuasive written and verbal communication skills.
· A strong “can-do” attitude, combining practical, hands-on skills with a strategic mindset.
· Ability to work collaboratively within a small team, as well as working independently.
· An understanding of and demonstrable commitment to equal opportunities, diversity and inclusion.
