Volunteer Centre Hackney is a thriving charity (annual income circa £1.1m, with 29 paid staff) providing volunteering infrastructure to the voluntary sector across the City of London and the London borough of Hackney. We support over 1500 residents a year to realise their skills and passions through volunteering and social action, and to share these for the benefit of others. We also provide volunteering resource, and advice and guidance on best practice in volunteer management, to hundreds of charities and community organisations.

Through our specialist programmes, our impact on the lives of residents is huge. We match volunteers to housebound residents to help them engage with communities and leave their homes; we provide long term personalised support to people with mental health conditions and learning disabilities to help them volunteer and find paid jobs; we support patients to deliver hundreds of their own activities and peer support groups at GP practices across City and Hackney; and in partnership with Public Health, we support over 250 Community Health Champions to share vital health messaging with their own diverse communities.  

This is a hands-on and strategic role for an experienced fundraiser who thrives in a small to medium sized charity environment. You will have autonomy to develop a whole new fundraising strategy, utilising diverse fundraising methods, and building and developing new project ideas and partnerships. You will lead on income generation primarily through sourcing and applying to multiple trusts and foundations, but diversified by building new corporate partnerships, community campaigns and individual giving. You will build authentic relationships with funders and supporters, and together with VCH colleagues, will identify new programme models as ways to generate income. You will contribute to the development and production of compelling stories, evidence and marketing and build and maintain the infrastructure needed to track and achieve progress against annual income targets.

Post holders need to have excellent communication skills, to represent the charity in writing and in person. Your role.

As the Communications Manager, you will play a key role in shaping and delivering the charity’s communications strategy to raise awareness, increase engagement, and grow support for our vital work. In September 2025 we launched an ambitious five-year strategy ‘From Neighborhood to National’ to confront the deep-rooted inequities facing children and young people. This is an exciting moment of organisational growth at The Fair Education Alliance. This role represents a significant investment in that infrastructure. You will be joining a small but highly capable operations team and playing a central role in how FEA manages and understands its finances as it grows. The Management Accountant plays a central role in ensuring that the Fair Education Alliance’s finances are accurate, well managed and clearly understood across the organisation. Working as part of the operations team, the postholder maintains the financial systems and processes that underpin FEA’s work. This includes overseeing day-to-day finance operations, producing reliable management accounts, supporting budgeting and forecasting, and ensuring that financial records meet charity accounting and regulatory requirements.

Formed in 1981, we offer information and support, for example through our website, information leaflets and webinars, and via our local support groups, Helplines and online forum.  As well as directly supporting those with endometriosis, we work to raise awareness of endometriosis amongst healthcare professionals, the public and the media; lobby for improved diagnosis, treatment and management; and support research. We have a big job to do and ambitious plans.

We are looking for an experienced Policy and Campaigns Manager to manage our policy and campaigning work. You will have a strong understanding of the UK political system and how to influence it, and will be confident in drafting reports, consultation responses and working with and disseminating data. You will have worked on health policy before, and will have strong knowledge of how to influence health policy at local and national level.
You must be pro-active in your approach to monitoring the external environment and seeking out opportunities for Endometriosis UK to have the most influence. You’ll be able to work in a small team and understand how we can make the most impact with our limited capacity.

You will be passionate about menstrual health and ensuring patient voices are at the heart of all we deliver, and will be able to turn policy asks into strong campaigns.

 About the role:

This is a pivotal role in our Campaigns and Communications Team, reporting to the Head of Campaigns and Communications. You will be managing the drafting of evidenced-based policy positions (for example analysing research, data and lived experience insight) and work with the Head of Campaigns and Communications to ensure these are translated into effective campaigning activity that drives real change.

You will oversee the integration of policy and campaigns activity, working closely with the Campaigns and Policy Officer, and enabling the Chief Executive and Senior Leadership Team to engage with parliamentary and high-level stakeholder engagement.

This role offers a great opportunity for an experienced Policy and Campaigns Manager to shape how Endometriosis UK uses evidence, policy and campaigning together to improve diagnosis times, access to treatment, and support for those affected by menstrual health conditions across the UK.

Events and Community Coordinator - Remote (UK based) – 0.8FTE

Role Summary

The Outreach Manager is responsible for driving the expansion of the Schools Consent Project’s reach, engagement, and impact across London and the South East. Acting as the organisation’s lead “sales” and business development professional, you will contribute to and manage our strong pipeline of partner schools and organisations, convert leads into confirmed bookings, and maximise long-term engagement. 

You will own the end-to-end outreach and partnership journey: from prospecting and lead generation, through relationship development and negotiation, to repeat engagement and retention.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Lead Generation

• Develop and execute a proactive outreach and growth strategy to increase workshop bookings.
• Develop and maintain relationships with existing schools; ensure SCP’s workshop content remains responsive and reactive to the emerging concerns of young people when it comes to sex, consent and the online world.
• Generate leads through cold outreach, referrals, events, and campaigns.
• Contribute to and maintain a pipeline of new schools and educational settings.
• Reinvigorate historic relationships with schools.

Account Management

• Convert enquiries and prospects into confirmed programme partners.
• Present the charity’s offer and impact to senior school leaders, safeguarding leads, and decision-makers.
• Manage key accounts and ensure high levels of partner satisfaction and retention.
• Promote additional workshops and programmes where appropriate (eg. teacher training; parent workshops).
• Track booking trends eg. seasonal vs. reactive bookings; develop a communication strategy around each ‘type’ of school, involving timely booking reminders.

Pipeline, Targets & Performance

• Manage outreach targets for bookings, partnerships, and regional coverage.
• Monitor conversion rates, pipeline value, and performance metrics.
• Produce regular forecasts and performance reports.
• Use data and insight to refine sales strategies and improve outcomes.

Marketing & Promotion

• Help develop compelling outreach materials and campaigns.
• Deliver presentations, webinars, and pitches to prospective educational partners.
• Represent the organisation at conferences, networks, and sector events.
• Help gather case studies, testimonials, and impact data to support outreach and fundraising.

Delivery Coordination

• Work closely with our Volunteer Manager and Operations Manager to match supply with demand.
• Ensure smooth handover from booking to delivery.
• Anticipate capacity constraints and manage partner expectations.

Team Leadership & Development

• Contribute to the development of outreach systems, processes, and tools.
• Share insights and learning across the organisation.
• Oversee team members currently managing school outreach.
