Position: Chief Operating Officer

Hours: 35 hours per week (full-time), due to the nature of our work regular evening and weekend work will be required with this role.

Purpose of the role
The Foundation is currently recruiting a programme officer for the Special Interest Programme based in its London office. Programme officers manage relationships with Oak partners, and make grants, as directed by our Trustees.

Main responsibilities include:

• managing a large grants portfolio, including: research and rigorous due diligence to prepare grant recommendations and progress reports for Trustees. This includes reviewing partner budgets and financial statements.
• supporting impactful partners by: providing ongoing contact, communications, and site visits; and monitoring progress and supporting adaptations to achieve desired impact;
• establishing and maintaining good relationships with applicants/partners and Oak Foundation’s other partners
• supporting partners with organisational strengthening and the development of child safeguarding policies as needed
• assisting partners to overcome challenges and draw out lessons learned in ‘end of grant’ reports when grants close
• working collaboratively on cross-foundation initiatives as required

Position requirements:

• An advanced university degree or equivalent experience
• Five to seven years’ experience of working in the not-for-profit sector and/or in philanthropy, including experience in grant-making and project and budget management
• Proven work experience and expertise in two or more of the following areas – social justice, child welfare, educational reform, access to the arts, humanitarian aid, development or environmental issues
• Excellent writing and editing skills, and ability to work quickly to meet deadlines
• An understanding of intersectionality and inclusive approaches to grant-making
• Proven experience in building and maintaining partnerships
• Ability to work independently but also flexibly and collaboratively, as part of a small team based in three different locations
• Fluent in English;  additional languages would also be an advantage

RAFT Research Programme Consortium Chief Executive Officer (0.6FTE)

The London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) is one of the world’s leading public health universities. Our mission is to improve health and health equity in the UK and worldwide; working in partnership to achieve excellence in public and global health research, education and translation of knowledge into policy and practice.

The LSHTM is searching for a CEO to help in the management of the ‘Resilience Against Future Threats’ (RAFT) Research Programme Consortium (RPC). RAFT is funded by FCDO, and its mission is research that will be of practical benefit to national programmes for the control of vector-borne diseases especially malaria. The Consortium partners are the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, the Centre for Research into Infectious Disease Cameroon, the Institut Pierre Richet in Côte d'Ivoire, the National Institute for Medical Research (NIMR) in Tanzania, the Faculty of Tropical Medicine of Mahidol University in Thailand, and the Malaria Consortium. One strand of our work concerns the arms race against insecticide resistance in African malaria vector mosquitoes, and in particular the process of choosing the most cost-effective insecticidal interventions in the face of complex geographic variation in resistance and a limited amount of epidemiological trial evidence. The other strand is addressing the more strategic and longer-term threats facing vector control, including the rise of Aedes-borne viruses in Africa, and the effects of anthropogenic changes in the environments in which we live.

We are looking for a CEO who will join the leadership team based in the LSHTM. This is a senior role with operational responsibility across all of RAFTs activities, including its research, its governance structures and workings as a partnership, its relationship with FCDO and the intended users of the knowledge outputs. You will work closely with RAFT’s two Principal Investigators/Research Directors and provide support to all other Principal Investigators/Directors from partners in the Consortium. The CEO will manage the relationship with the donor (UK Government Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, FCDO) and be the primary point of contact. You will provide strategic Management of RPC governance structures; and actively participate in RPC management meetings with Management Group and running of the Consortium Advisory Group (CAG). You will work closely with the Programme Manager to ensure best practice in budget management, financial probity, forecasting expenditure, and financial reporting to donors, Management Group and CAG.

The CEO will oversee and report on detailed progress against the agreed workplans and logframe, including on risks to programme success and make changes and recommendations as required. You will lead on Lead on active engagement with RAFT’s primary external stakeholders (i.e. the main intended users of its knowledge outputs), including National Malaria Control Programmes (NMCPs) in countries with high burden of mosquito-borne disease, World Health Organisation (WHO), UK Government FCDO etc, so as to understand their research and technical priorities and to coordinate RAFT’s role and contribution. Finally, the CEO will also oversee the development and implementation of the RAFT Communications Strategy and together with the Research Uptake Manager, oversee all RPC communications, data management procedures and engagement of users and policymakers with the research outputs, representing the RPC in public debate and other media.

Candidates must have a higher education to degree level, or equivalent, or substantial relevant experience, experience of managing and reporting on programme grants from funders such as FCDO, EU etc, significant proven experience of financial planning and management including creating and monitoring budgets

The post is part-time 3 days per week, 0.6 FTE and fixed-term until 30 April 2026. The post is funded by the UK Government Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) and is available immediately.

The salary will be on the Professional Services salary scale, Grade 7 in the range £51,299 - £58,723 (SP 38-43) per annum pro rata (inclusive of London Weighting). The post will be subject to the LSHTM terms and conditions of service. Annual leave entitlement is 30 working days per year, pro rata for part time staff. In addition to this there are discretionary “Wellbeing Days”. Membership of the Pension Scheme is available. The Role

We are seeking a driven, talented, energetic and creative individual for the role of Director of Development. This is a one-year maternity cover post.

In this role, you will work closely with and report to the Principal and Chief Executive and will be responsible for implementing and delivering a comprehensive and coherent fundraising strategy for LAMDA.

You will lead and deliver major gift campaigns, including the biennial Gala, to ensure the sustainability and success of LAMDA as the world’s leading centre for drama training. With the ability to work collegiately and collaboratively with all staff and stakeholders, you will have demonstrable experience in implementing and delivering a successful major fundraising strategy.

To be successful, you will be confident and proactive, a verbal and written communicator and a skilled networker with a very strong track record of relationship building. Additionally, you will have proven experience of working in a senior fundraising role in the arts, higher education or charity sector.

In this role, you will work 35 hours per week (9.30 am – 5.30 pm), Monday to Friday, with the flexibility to work outside these hours to attend events and productions in accordance with business needs.

The role

The Jacobs Futura Foundation is a newly established philanthropic foundation, working to support two key causes: the preservation, and restoration of tropical rainforest for the benefit of nature and local communities, and the provision of education and support to athletes during and after their sporting careers. The Role

The Director of Finance and Operations is a key position within this nascent and highly exciting charity. Overseeing finance, IT and facilities, you will operate in both a hands on and strategic capacity for the Jacobs Futura Foundation, designing and rolling out appropriate controls and processes whilst managing outsourced partner functions.

Working closely with (and where appropriate, deputising for) the Chief Operating Officer, you will play a key role in shaping the establishment of finance systems and processes for the Jacobs Futura Foundation. You will work as a key business partner across the Foundation, working with programmatic leads to help inform on and improve financial understanding. Post Title: Team Leader

Location: The post will be based primarily at University College London Hospital (UCLH) Euston. However, all Redthread team members must be flexible about supporting other sites when needed. Regular visits to Redthread’s main offices and other projects and activities at various locations across London, the Midlands, and the UK will be required.

Hours: 37.5 hours per week. The nature of Redthread’s work means that regular evening and weekend working is required. You will be required to work shifts to ensure that the team cover from 7:30am to 9pm each day between them.

Salary: £38,424.75 per annum + benefits 

Contract type: 12-month fixed term, with the possibility of extension subject to funding.

Purpose of the Post

• Support the Programme Manager to oversee effective and consistent delivery, performance, and quality assurance across the health settings, working with the Director of Services and other leaders to enhance and develop the offer. Including through involving young people in service design and development aligned to the Redthread Youth Participation Strategy.

• Lead Redthread teams delivering services, ensuring that Redthread’s models of intervention are delivered consistently and appropriately to all young people accessing the services.

About the Role

As a critical member of the strategic leadership team (SLT) for Emmaus UK, the Director of Partnerships and Federation Development will take lead responsibility for ensuring the provision of high-quality support, advice, capacity building and grant-making for federation members in the UK.

The postholder will play a key role in the development of national strategic partnerships and will collaborate with federation members to ensure that federation strategic priorities are delivered and that our colleagues across the federation are able to do their very best work supporting people to overcome homelessness and poverty.

The role will also ensure effective programme and project management of directorate projects and work to embed cross-directorate working and co-operation.

They are looking for someone to work with the Audit Lead and the Financial Controller support the delivery of the Audit and ensure financial statements are prepared for both internal and external consumption.

This is a hybrid role working 3 days in their office based in East Croydon.

This role would be perfect for someone who is passionate about developing their skills in an excellent organisation.

Main responsibilities:

• Prepare balance sheet control accounts.
• Consolidate all grant income remittances for Government income.
• Prepare monthly income and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Ensure bank reconciliations are completed.
• Provide support on reconciling Fixed assets registers for all schools and head office.
• Create audit packs for auditors and work on queries from the auditors

You will:

• Be fully qualified
• Be experienced in production of month end accounts.
• Have strong reconciliation and data analysis skills.
• Experienced in preparing month end journals, including departmental recharges
• Have strong excel skills and experience of using a variety of software packages to generate reports
• Have excellent analytical and communication skills.
• Have a professional "cando" attitude and work ethic
• Have excellent time management skills

Experience of the education sector is desirable but not essential.
