This role plays a crucial part in shaping the future of our workforce and ensuring a positive employee experience. Key areas of responsibility are supporting the recruitment process by placing job adverts, arranging interviews, onboarding new employees, payroll administration, and supporting the Head of People and People Officer by ensuring that all People and Culture processes run smoothly and effectively.
We are looking for someone with a strong track record of providing administrative support, who can follow and track different administrative processes. Excellent organisational skills are essential as is being proactive and self-motivated, with a positive approach to work.
The role will be based at either our Bristol Campus (BS10 5PY), Birmingham Campus (B15 2HU) or London Campus (BR3 1QP) so you should be within commutable distance. The role is hybrid with the need to be on site at least once a fortnight. This role does involve travel once a month to one of our other sites across the country and travel expenses will be paid.

Summary
We are seeking a proactive and diligent Compliance Officer to join our Recruitment and Operations team. You will be responsible for providing a robust compliant onboarding service for all successful applicants to our awardwinning Tutoring Programmes; ensuring all candidates are ready and fully eligible to start their delivering tuition sessions in colleges across the country. The ideal candidate will oversee the end-to-end onboarding process and ensure all pre-employment checks meet the standards required by Get Further and safer recruitment practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Compliance and Onboarding:
- Manage the end-to-end onboarding process, ensuring all pre-employment checks (Right to Work, DBS, references, and safeguarding requirements) are completed accurately and on time.
- Maintain accurate and secure records in line with GDPR and safer recruitment practices.
- Oversee the offboarding process where appropriate Safeguarding and Quality Assurance
- Ensure all safeguarding requirements are met and documented within our CRM system.
- Monitor compliance requirements and ensure continuous alignment with safer recruitment policies.
- Work closely with the Head of Recruitment to deliver in line with Get Further’s five-year strategy.
Communication and Stakeholder Engagement
- Manage tutor communications during the onboarding stage, ensuring candidate enquiries are responded to promptly via the shared mailbox.
- Liaise with College HR departments, providing assurance letters and compliance information for tutors.
- Collaborate with internal departments to ensure smooth onboarding and cross-team coordination.
- Support the onboarding process by reviewing and collating documentation and references.
- Ensure all Right to Work (RTW) checks are completed accurately and renewed and in a timely manner.
- Oversee the processing and verification of enhanced DBS checks, tutor reference requests and Social online Media checks.
- Ensure all safeguarding requirements are met and documented within our CRM database.
- Maintain accurate records in line with GDPR and compliance standards.
- Manage our Tutor Training booking process.
- Oversee the offboarding process where appropriate.
- Liaise with internal departments to ensure smooth onboarding and compliance.
- Manage tutor communications during the onboarding stage and oversee our onboarding mailbox – ensuring enquiries are responded to in a timely manner.
- Liaise with College HR departments and provide assurance letters for Get Further Tutors.
- Work with the Head of Recruitment to deliver Get Furthers five-year strategy.

In this multi-faceted role, you will ensure that women affected by Fowler’s Syndrome, clinicians, researchers, and the wider public are intimately connected to the charity’s work.You will enable smoother pathways for women seeking support and for healthcare professionals looking to access educational resource, while also leading on a range of communications activities and awareness campaigns.
You will take responsibility for coordinating and facilitating online patient groups, supporting in-person events, and helping to manage FSUK’s Patient Council. Tasked with overseeing the development of content such as patient resources, you will also advance wider engagement across projects and research programmes and ensure that communications, whether via newsletters, social channels, or the website, reflect the charity’s voice and values.
While having strategic oversight and leading on the management of FSUK’s digital platforms, including their WordPress website and database consisting of patients and supporters, you will also maintain the charity’s fundraising pages. Through managing FSUK’s social platforms, you will at times also interact with the charity’s online community, responding with empathy as you engage and signpost to appropriate services such as the FSUK helpline, ensuring people feel heard, informed, and supported.
Lastly, raising awareness of FSUK will be one strand of the communications output, however the primary focus is to enable stronger connections and deepen engagement and trust with their valued community.
Emotional intelligence and well defined interpersonal skills are essential, as well as having proficient organisational ability and the aptitude to multi-task when working independently within this small, yet fast-moving team.
A background in patient, community, or stakeholder engagement will also be a valuable asset, alongside exposure to working within the health, charity, or research sector. You will have demonstrable experience producing content, alongside a track record of managing digital and social platforms (particularly Instagram).
Lived experience of Fowler’s Syndrome is not essential but would be a welcome bonus!

The role
