Since its establishment in 2006, ROLDA has become a beacon of hope for the millions of vulnerable stray animals in Romania – one of Europe's economically poorest nations. Our mission is to manage the homeless animal population, estimated to be millions, through six key focuses: rescue, rehabilitation, sheltering, sterilisation, and education. Within our shelters, inspired by British kennel design and maintained to meet EU animal welfare standards, we can house up to 700 stray dogs at a time. Here, they receive complete veterinary care, rehabilitation, and preparation for rehoming. Since 2006, we have helped over 48,000 animals (primarily dogs and cats) and built two shelters for dogs and one for disabled and senior cats. We also distribute support, primarily through small grants, to six other charities in Romania and over 40 shelters in Ukraine. We rehome mainly in Switzerland, Sweden, and the UK. In addition to our efforts in rescuing and rehoming animals, ROLDA tackles the root cause of Romania's homeless animals through comprehensive neutering programmes and educational initiatives. Come join our team working to help change the lives of some of the most vulnerable people in society. Ranked 2023 Q4 by Best Companies as the 8th best charity to work for in the UK, Medaille Trust is one of the UK’s leading charities in the fight against modern slavery. Our innovative model is based on three principles: Prevent, Protect and Pursue. We are one of the UK’s largest providers of survivor services, with ten safehouses and six outreach hubs, staffed round the clock by specialist staff, working with more than 600 men, women and dependent children each year. We work to raise awareness in the UK and to provide preventive work in source countries. Our Pursue work helps survivors to engage with police and within the legal system to seek justice and to secure convictions against their perpetrators.
As an Area Manager you will give leadership, direction and guidance to the staff of Medaille Trust to ensure the provision and development of a high quality service in line with the Trust’s Mission, Values and Strategy.
You will have a good understanding of the CQC framework relating to Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking. You will carry out quarterly assurance audits in all safe houses ensuring any appropriate action is taken where necessary.

Although the post is home based, the post holder will be expected to travel frequently to our safe houses within the South and London areas with some overnight stays.
You must have previous experience in a relevant sector or experience of working with adults that are vulnerable. Experience of managing staff, carrying out line management, supervision and appraisals is essential. Additionally, you must have experience of setting up Service User Engagement groups.
This is a challenging but important and rewarding job because our team members know they are working hard to help transform the lives of some of the most vulnerable people. We are searching for a new strategic leader at Bloody Good Period. The Head of Communications and Campaigns will play a pivotal and strategic role in delivering creative and effective campaigns and comms that align with our wider influencing work, maximising opportunities to influence change as we approach a General Election, and beyond.
Bloody Good Period’s brand and communications have had huge traction and influence in the last few years. Our mission of menstrual equity resonates strongly with a range of stakeholders including individual supporters, corporates, parliamentarians and celebrities, and we have developed a strong brand which is frequently sought after for high-profile partnerships.
We are also dialling up the activist movement quality of our work, building on strong foundations in terms of our brand, reputation and relationships. We think menstrual equity is a bedrock of renewing and improving the way the UK works, and the way we campaign for that and communicate our thoughts and demands will always be fundamental to our success in achieving our mission.
The Head of Communications and Campaigns will be working across the organisation, and crucially alongside our Experts by Experience forum, strengthening our communication strategy whilst developing and implementing an ambitious campaign strategy to engage and mobilise both existing and new supporters.
We are an inclusive, feminist organisation, which champions remote and flexible working, and puts self-care at the heart of what we do. We offer a specific leadership and development programme for BPOC members of the team to develop their careers within the social justice space, and a wellbeing fund to support every team member. We work hard and deliver, but we do not overwork. We enjoy our work and take pride in it.
We strongly encourage applications from Black and People of Colour, and from those who have lived experience of the issues on which we work, namely period poverty, and/or experience of refugee or asylum-seeker status.
While the successful candidate will be selected purely on merit, in the event of a tie between two candidates with equal suitability, we may select a candidate with lived experience of the issues we are seeking to address through our work.
We recognise that many potential candidates who bring the voice and lived experience that we need, may have had less opportunity to develop a track record in these roles. Bloody Good Period prioritises the development needs of everyone who works with us, including in this role.
