Our location
We are based in Hatfield, Hertfordshire, so we are easily accessible by road and rail. But one thing we have learned from the pandemic, is that we are able to work very effectively from home. In this role, there is plenty of scope for doing that, although there will be times when you will need to be at face-to-face meetings and the charity meets four times a year in the office at our mandatory 'All Staff Together' days. The Education Access Coordinator will equip young asylum seekers and refugees to access further (FE) and higher education (HE) through advice and guidance, 1:1 casework and training for other professionals.
This role sits within the Education Access team: everything we do is focussed on supporting young refugees and asylum seekers into an appropriate form of education from primary school right the way up to university.
The team is separated into three work streams: access to schools, access to FE and access to HE. We also run a national email and telephone advice service through which young people, their families and the professionals who support them, can receive timely and accurate advice and support about any aspect of accessing education in the UK.
This role straddles the access to FE and HE streams of work and, although it would be helpful to have some experience of working in these sectors, our experience is that this knowledge can be taught and is not as important to us as other qualities and experience.
The successful candidate will, however, need to be able to understand and retain a great deal of complex information and then clearly articulate this to others both verbally and in writing. The ideal candidate would be someone who would relish becoming an expert in refugee access to FE and HE and would enjoy the problem solving element of navigating complex regulations to find the right solution for an individual struggling to access education.
The successful candidate will also need to have experience of and enjoy working with vulnerable young people both individually and in groups. A key element of this role is ongoing casework with individuals - where you will need to build a supportive and trusting relationship over the long term - alongside running one-off workshops for large groups where the priority is to quickly gain young people’s confidence and attention.
Finally, the successful candidate will be responsible for representing REUK’s access pillar externally. You will co-deliver training to a high standard as well as maintaining relationships with key stakeholders including local authorities, FE colleges, universities and other NGOs - it is therefore imperative that you have excellent people skills.
This role can be done 4 or 5 days per week, depending on preference (salary would be pro rata for 4 days).

Main Responsibilities
The Director will build on the foundations already laid to establish the Food Education Network as a new member organisation to bring the sector together. Your new role
The Education Quality Administrator is responsible for providing administrative support within the Quality Assurance, Monitoring and Improvement team.
- Administrative support where required for our quality assurance processes. This could include, for example:
- Uploading to our online filing system and formatting documents submitted by organisations, so they are ready for colleagues to analyse.
- Proofreading documents and uploading them to our online filing systems
- Proofreading and publishing content for our web pages.

Overview:
The role of is a senior position within the Young Lewisham Project. The role is responsible for the workshop staff, young people and project management of the referral groups and activities. Managing staff, maintaining participant’s records and ensuring all administration required for OCN and other qualifications are kept up to date and in order.

Oversee and improve attendance
Principal Duties
To oversee the delivery of Young Lewisham Project programmes and activities.
To provide supervision and support to workshop project staff and volunteers to ensure co-ordination and effective team work within Young Lewisham and individual projects/groups.
To actively promote the services of the project through appropriate channels and on appropriate platforms.
To co-ordinate and facilitate good relationships with partners and attend multi agency meetings where necessary.
To have some oversight of IT system Monday and the collection and analysis of performance data, producing management information and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
To act as one of 3 designated safeguarding leads and attend all training to ensure current compliance.
Support young people with SEN
Support tutors to work with young people with challenging behaviour
Specific Duties Management
To plan and facilitate team meetings, multi-agency meetings, consultation and co-operative working with statutory and non-statutory agencies.
To manage the risk and safety of young people, service users and be responsible for their care whilst they engage with Young Lewisham Project along with other management team.
To ensure that Health and Safety processes and policies are followed and that risk assessments are in place, up to date and complied with.
Manage workshop equipment - service, maintenance, repair and replacement

Responsible for the supervision and management of workshop staff and volunteers involved in specific groups / projects within Young Lewisham.

Specific Duties pertaining to individual Groups and Projects
Responsible for workshop and tutor spending according to specific project budget and Young Lewisham finance policy and any funding agreements in place.
To work in a multi-agency setting e.g. schools, Youth Services, specialist projects/agencies to maximise development and learning opportunities for young people.
To work in a multi-disciplinary way by: building and maintaining relationships with partners, sharing information in line with the Data Protection Act and Young Lewisham policies; attending relevant meetings as necessary
Monitoring and Reporting
Responsible for maintaining and developing systems of monitoring that can capture and analyse performance data to track progress of individual projects against outputs and outcomes
Responsible for producing timely and accurate reports for the Management Committee and external funders.
General
In carrying out the above role, the post holder will:
Be available to work unsociable hours when necessary (this may include some weekends and overnight stays).
