Domestic Abuse Officer

Location: Waltham Forest/London

Young Ladies Club aims to raise aspirations in disadvantaged young women to achieve their education and career potential by providing mentoring, confidence building activities and career workshops from positive role models.  We envision a world where young women’s socio-economic background does not impact educational and career outcomes.

We are now looking for an experience Domestic Abuse Officer to provide an effective, efficient, and supportive service to women who are victims of domestic abuse providing emotional, practical and welfare support. As our Domestic Abuse Officer, you will provide a high-quality pro-active service to victims of domestic abuse and other forms of VAWG in either 1:1 or group settings delivering a service to those at medium and low risk.

As a Domestic Abuse Officer, your responsibilities will be:

· To work within a multi-agency framework consisting of the MARAC and local partnership responses to domestic abuse.

· To ensure that women are enabled to access their rights and are informed about their options.

· To reach out to survivors of domestic abuse and raise awareness of domestic abuse and local services offered.

· To support and implement the aims and objectives of Young Ladies Club ensuring that all work is undertaken in accordance with Young Ladies Club policies and procedures.

· To facilitate or co-facilitate the support groups

· To facilitate the provision of culturally sensitive therapeutic interventions and counselling services.

Required Skills and Experience:

· Demonstrable qualifications and/or experience in the field of domestic violence accommodation and support.

· An excellent working knowledge of key issues faced by black and minoritised women who have experienced Domestic Abuse and VAWG. Able to apply this knowledge at a practical level.

· Experience of identifying and responding to the risks to and needs of survivors of domestic

violence

· Experience of working with vulnerable women at least some of which are women or girls affected by domestic abuse and other forms of gender-based violence.

· A sound working knowledge of the practical, emotional, social and economic issues facing black and minoritised women and girls affected by domestic, and intimate relationship abuse

· Experience of multi-agency partnership working

· Knowledge of relevant legislation relating to Immigration, Honour Based Violence, Forced Marriage and FGM.

· Experience in running support groups in the community

· Ability to work with interpreters and volunteers.

· Ability to work with voluntary organisations, local authorities and government agencies on behalf of women.

· Effective communication skills.

· Experience of managing basic administrative systems.

· Training and qualifications in the provision of advice and advocacy on issues such as housing, welfare benefits and domestic violence.

· Good working knowledge of IT system and databases.

· Ability to run groups virtually on Zoom/Teams etc

The Role

What will I be doing?

As Project Officer, Workforce Partnerships, you’ll be part of the Education and Workforce team, supporting our mission to build a strong, diverse physics workforce for the future. Your work will help leverage our evidence and insights to identify and develop institutional partnerships through which we can deliver sustainable impact against our Skills priorities.

You will also take a lead in celebrating the crucial role of physics-related technical talent in the workplace through operational administration of our flagship Technical Skills Awards.

You’ll support the delivery of projects, working closely with colleagues across the organisation, IOP Members and external stakeholders.

Projects and activities you may work on include:

• Supporting stakeholder mapping and engagement activities to drive impactful new partnership development.
• Helping to design and deliver workshops, events and engagement campaigns. As an example, this could include supporting the development of case studies, and digital and print collateral, to raise the awareness and visibility of physics-related routes to employment.
• Leading the annual cycle of delivery, administration and operation of the IOP’s Technical Skills Awards.
• Supporting the management of project processes including bids, contracts, MOUs, budgets and reporting.

Essential:

• Strong communication skills with the ability to tailor communications to a diverse range of audiences through face to face, written and digital methods.

Since 2022, we’ve been growing our place-based programmes in key regions across the country - communities full of potential, creativity and ambition, but where young people can face barriers to accessing the same networks and opportunities as their peers.

We believe earlier intervention is key to solving the NEET crisis. This means delivering opportunities to practise and apply skills in real-world contexts. We’re seeking a project manager to lead this work with our trusted industry partners, working in collaboration with employers, local and combined authorities, schools and charities. We are currently delivering Ignite projects in Blackpool, East Riding of Yorkshire, Liverpool, Middlesbrough, Northampton, Rochdale and London, and may take on additional projects in new locations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead our Ignite place-based programmes, managing workshops, employer engagement, and volunteer coordination, while ensuring local partners stay central to design and delivery.
• Oversee programme delivery, stakeholder relationships, coordination and logistics
• Through targeted interventions ensure the right workshops and people are in place to support young people to raise their aspirations, develop their skills and bridge the gap between education and employment

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for an experienced and strategic Partnerships Manager to strengthen and grow our connections across the youth, education and democracy sectors. You will play a key role in expanding and deepening the Democracy Classroom Network, helping to increase its reach, visibility and impact on democratic education across the UK.

The role will support organisations to prepare for and collaborate on upcoming changes in democratic engagement and education - such as the introduction of Votes at 16 - ensuring the sector is coordinated, informed and ready to respond collectively.

This is a dynamic, people-focused role supporting more than 100 partner organisations to collaborate, share learning and deliver joined-up support for teachers and youth practitioners. You will combine excellent relationship-building with the ability to think strategically, spot opportunities and translate them into practical action.

You will work closely with the Head of Communications and Networks, the Communications Lead, and colleagues across The Politics Project to ensure that partners are supported, connected and able to collaborate effectively. The role blends strategic relationship management with hands-on coordination and communication.

Key responsibilities include:

Partnership management

• Build, maintain and strengthen relationships with over 100 existing civil society partners.
• Act as the main point of contact for partner queries, feedback and support.
• Identify and onboard new organisations to join the Democracy Classroom Network.
• Facilitate partner input into planning, decision-making and shared problem-solving.

Strategic development and coordination

• Identify new opportunities for collaboration, policy influence and sector engagement.
• Advise senior colleagues on partnership trends, risks and emerging opportunities.

• Coordinate effectively with internal teams to ensure joined-up delivery and coherent partner messaging.

Engagement and representation

Monitoring and reporting

• Track partner engagement, feedback and satisfaction to inform continuous improvement.

This is a fast-paced role in a small but growing team. The post includes a six-month probation period and is fixed-term until March 2027, with potential for extension depending on funding. Occasional travel within the UK and some evening or weekend work will be required.

About the role

We are looking for two exceptional Heads of Philanthropy to join our team to significantly increase philanthropic income for faculty fundraising priorities across King’s College London.Within your application, please indicate which position you are applying to, or if you are happy to be considered for both positions.

One role will lead the Health, Science & Technology philanthropy team, and the other will lead the Arts & Social Sciences philanthropy team. Candidates will need to demonstrate curiosity and genuine interest in the academic areas that fall within the role, and work in partnership with King’s experts and other stakeholders to be successful.

King’s has an ambition to significantly scale philanthropic income for Faculties as we prepare to launch our next major fundraising and engagement campaign in 2027 and mark the university’s bicentenary in 2029. There is currently at least one major gift fundraiser working in each Faculty. Working closely with the Associate Director, Faculty Philanthropy, the postholder will play a pivotal role in developing and growing the major gift fundraising function. They will be responsible for leading and nurturing a team of high value fundraisers to secure gifts at the £50k level and above.

We are looking for someone with a proven track-record of developing new, high value relationships, with experience of closing gifts at the six- and seven- figure level. They will need to demonstrate that they understand what is required to build and scale prospect portfolios. They should be intellectually curious and energised by the depth and breadth of King’s academic expertise, with particular interest and passion to work with senior university leaders and academics to secure funding for a range of priorities across either the Arts and Social Sciences, or Health, Science & Technology portfolio.

Working closely with the Associate Director, Faculty Philanthropy, the postholder will play a pivotal role in developing and growing the major gift fundraising function in advance of the launch of the university’s next public fundraising campaign. This is a full time post (35 Hours per week), and you will be offered an indefinite  contract. P&A has a hybrid working approach, with a minimum of 40% of time in the office, on King’s campuses or meeting donors externally. Job Purpose

The Oxbridge Programme Manager will be responsible for the development and delivery of the Explore Oxbridge programme. They will work closely with the Head of Student Opportunities to plan and develop the programme.

The role will involve the management and coordination of a comprehensive package of support for students from Year 9 / S2 upwards. This includes workshops, webinars, day trips and residentials designed to increase student knowledge about studying at selective universities, in particular The University of Oxford and The University of Cambridge.

The role will involve stewardship of various stakeholders, including Oxbridge colleges and IU school partners. The Programme Manager will work closely with the wider Student Opportunities team and IntoUniversity centre teams to ensure students are benefitting from the programme.

The Explore Oxbridge programme is open to students who are either currently being supported by IntoUniversity centres (typically students aged 14-18 years) or IntoUniversity Student Associates (IU alumni). The programme offered to students will include, but are not limited to, the following:

About the role

We are seeking a motivated and passionate Leadership Giving Officer to cultivate and solicit gifts from alumni who have the capacity to make donations to the university of between £1,000 and £50,000.

You will be working in an exciting and varied role that blends marketing and fundraising skills as part of the Leadership Giving team within the Philanthropy & Alumni Engagement department. Sitting within the KCL Philanthropy Team and working collaboratively with the other fundraisers in the university, the Leadership Giving Officer will manage the delivery of mass-fundraising appeals and stewardship, while also spending time in direct interaction with donors, both in and out of the office.

This role would be well suited to someone with marketing experience who is at the early stages of their fundraising career and keen to apply their skills in a hands-on environment.
