We are seeking an individual to undertake the dual role of promoting the profile of the RAF Benevolent Funds welfare offer, whilst also carrying out welfare casework. Post holders will be expected to undertake holistic assessment of need both remotely (over the telephone and online) and when required in person across their region. You will be expected to work with individuals who may have complex and sometimes challenging welfare needs, assisting them by identifying appropriate support from within both the RAF Benevolent Fund and the wider statutory and military charity sector, ensuring that support is made available to meet their need through the case working process.

The successful candidate will have experience of working in a social welfare role supporting individuals and will have strong people and relationship-building skills, as well as empathy with or understanding of issues affecting the Armed Forces community.

This is a community-based position working from home but covering the Yorkshire and Durham areas, ideally based in the York area. The candidate must have their own vehicle for use of traveling around the regions. Occasional travel to London will be required. The successful candidate for this role will need to be Enhanced DBS checked and prove they have the right to work in the UK.

· create and review support plans in collaboration with the woman, and other agencies

· facilitate and deliver group-based support

As a Key Worker, you’ll bring an in depth knowledge of issues facing women with multiple disadvantages, including those with convictions and those at risk of offending.  You’ll also have significant experience of supporting women with issues such as homelessness, substance misuse, domestic abuse and mental health, preferably within a criminal justice setting.

The Team

This role will fit into the small Finance & Operations team and will be line managed by the Finance Manager.

Main Duties

• Maintaining the Purchase Ledger including processing supplier invoices, staff expense claims, grant and bursary payments, reconciling statements and making the relevant payments
• Maintaining the Sales Ledger including raising invoices and allocating receipts
• Cash management including checking bank transactions daily, allocating transactions on the accounting system and producing regular bank reconciliations. Paying in cheques and reconciling floats, if required
• Maintaining accurate records of both unrestricted and restricted fund transactions including receipts, grants, staff expenses, overheads and cash
• Providing timely and accurate financial support to the Programmes, Development and Research teams to assist them with forecasting, budgeting, reconciliation and (donor) reporting
• Supporting with the month end procedures such as balance sheet reconciliations, depreciation, month end adjustments, salary and overhead allocations
• Gathering monthly payroll information and reviewing monthly payroll reports
• Assisting with the administration of the pension scheme and of employee benefits
• Preparing quarterly Gift Aid claims and maintaining the relevant supporting documentation
• Assisting with the year-end statutory accounts preparation, audit and budget setting process

This role is ideal for someone with a passion for hospitality and team leadership, committed to delivering excellent service and creating a vibrant, welcoming space for students, staff and visitors.

The postholder will lead a team of student shift leaders and staff, ensuring smooth daily operations, high standards of cleanliness, and exceptional customer service. You will strive to minimise wastage and losses through regular audits and clear procedures, maintaining accurate records of all transactions and stock movements.

The Café Supervisor will work closely with the Commercial Manager – Strand to develop exciting product offerings and promotions. Strong relationships with students, colleagues, and suppliers are vital.

You will also manage catering bookings and ensure services meet high standards, from enquiry to delivery. Compliance with food hygiene, health and safety, and equipment maintenance is essential. The North West England Methodist District (NWED) is seeking to appoint a District Property Secretary. The role is home-based, with travel throughout the District. They will be the first point of contact on all matters relating to property and will work in collaboration with the churches and circuits within the District, providing oversight of the properties owned by the District. The post holder will give support and assistance to a range of stakeholders on property-related matters, in the context of Methodist Church governance.

The School:

Merchant Taylors’ School is a large Independent Boys’ School, situated in 280 acres of parkland in Northwood, Middlesex.  The School was founded in 1561, is owned by the Merchant Taylors’ Educational Trust and moved to its present site in 1933. There are four distinct boys’ day schools on campus. The Nursery, the Pre-Prep & the Prep cater for 370 boys, while the Senior School has over 960 pupils. The Senior School employs over 110 teachers and 160 Support staff across Merchant Taylors’ School.

Main duties and responsibilities:

Fundraising

· Developing and innovating the school’s regular giving programme, the Merchant Taylors’ Fund, to ensure a consistent income stream and increased participation from alumni, parents and friends.

· In conjunction with external consultants, running our (currently) biennial telephone fundraising campaigns and Giving Days.

· Liaising with school departments, clubs and societies to identify exciting projects to motivate supporters.

· Segmenting and targeting recipients for appeals to ensure the greatest impact and returns.

· Devising the strategy for promoting legacy giving as a means of supporting Merchant Taylors’, and to implement this strategy to increase the number of known legacy pledges to the school.

 Stewardship

· Establishing and running a comprehensive benefactor stewardship programme that thanks and stewards donors at all levels, including legacy pledges, through regular communication and events.

Reporting

· Reporting on progress against all objectives to the Development and Alumni Relations Sub-Committee of Governors.

· Where appropriate, working with the Development Executive (Events and Communications), to produce benefactor report publications and contribute to other Development publications.

· Ensuring that all contact with OMTs and parents is recorded on the Development Office’s database, the Raiser’s Edge.

Ideally you will have some experience of prison settings underpinned by the ability to build relationships and personal qualities that include resilience, determination and a problem-solving approach. 

This role will be prison based. The Role

As Diocesan Director of Ordinands, you will play a pivotal role in nurturing and discerning vocations to ordained ministry within the Church of England. About the role
An exciting opportunity for a registered nurse to work on our specialist 10 bedded inpatient unit within Saint Michaels Hospice. You will work with our experienced specialist practitioners to deliver excellent standards of care to our inpatients. We offer a robust induction period with clinical competencies attached, and you will also benefit from regular training and education on our in-house study days to support your clinical knowledge & development.

About the roles:

Each Finance Business Partner will support a specific directorate, building strong, collaborative relationships with service managers and senior leadership. Your role will be to help shape financial decision-making and provide meaningful insights that lead to better outcomes for the community. Key responsibilities include:

• Acting as a trusted advisor and strategic partner to senior stakeholders
• Supporting budget setting, monitoring and forecasting processes
• Contributing to the council’s wider financial planning and business strategy
• Identifying and mitigating financial risks while spotting opportunities for improvement
• Leading on year-end accounts for your area and supporting performance reporting
• Playing a pivotal role in exciting finance transformation projects, with the opportunity to contribute to the development of finance systems and business intelligence dashboards to improve financial performance

What you’ll need:

• A CCAB or CIMA qualification (or be actively working towards one)
• Strong communication skills and a proactive, solutions-focused mindset
• Experience working with non-financial stakeholders and influencing decisions
• Ideally some public sector experience – but this is not essential

Big Green Heart is looking for a trainer to help expand our practitioner base. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with teaching experience to use their professional skills in the charity sector in the vitally important area of mental health. Accredited practitioners may charge for their own practice, working with individuals or in partnership with schools, churches, and community projects. They will practice under license from Big Green Heart. 

The role of the trainer is to teach and train practitioners in the methodology of Big Green Heart and to bring individuals through to accreditation. This will be done regionally and online.

It is hoped that the trainer will continue to oversee the developing work of the practitioners in a mentoring role, either individually or in groups, whether in person or online. This will be an evolving role developed in partnership with the Founder/CEO. 

Key information

FT / PT: Part time

Salary: £30,000 - £35000/ year, pro rata depending on experience

Hours: Circa 16 hours per week; the hours will be flexible and may include evenings and weekends

Annual Leave: 25 days pro rata

Location: Remote and flexible. Please note, the charity is based in North Yorkshire and some face-to-face meetings will be required at our office. Training will take place around the country. So far this year, we have hosted workshops all over the UK, from Sussex to the Isle of Skye. Travel will be required, as will the ability to train online. All travel expenses will be covered.

Over time, the trainer will be expected to develop a network from which new practitioners will be recruited.  Prior knowledge of Big Green Heart methodology is not expected.  Big Green Heart will provide your training, and there will be a probationary period for you and Big Green Heart to assess your suitability for communicating this vital practice of forgiving.

The trainer will report to the Founder/CEO and their Line Manager.  They will work with the operational team.
