We are seeking a compassionate and confident Project Manager to lead our InterAction project, delivering high-quality support to asylum seekers, refugees, and migrants across Tyne and Wear. This strategic and operational leadership role involves managing a small team, coordinating multi-agency partnerships, and ensuring the delivery of impactful casework, drop-in services, and targeted contracts focused on health access and social inclusion. 

The InterAction service provides practical and emotional support through weekly drop-ins in Newcastle, regional casework, and collaborative work with community organisations. You will oversee service planning, budgeting, and monitoring, while promoting integration, wellbeing, and empowerment for those navigating the asylum and resettlement process. 

You will work closely with the Head of Client Services and other Action Foundation teams to ensure joined-up delivery and continuous improvement. We are recruiting for Service Manager who is passionate about supporting survivors who are impacted by domestic abuse and other gender-based crimes.  This is a multifaceted, fast paced, and exciting role where you will join our team in Hounslow & Hillingdon to lead on the delivery and development of high-quality refuge services for survivors of domestic abuse and other gender-based crimes. The post holder will provide line management and support to the accommodation based services staff. We are now seeking a proactive and purposeful leader, as our new Deputy Director, Funding Strategy.

In this role you will oversee our core funding strategy capability, ensuring The Fund stays ahead of change and remains at the leading edge of grantmaking practice. You would lead a multidisciplinary team working across our UK-wide organisation. Teams within your responsibility would include Funding Strategy Development, Funding Policy and Practice, Equity Diversity and Inclusion and Youth Voice. 

This is a crucial leadership appointment – you will be part of the Funding Strategy, Innovation and UK directorate leadership team, driving the ongoing development of funding strategy, policies and ways of working. You will have holistic oversight of funding strategy from inception to decision by executive and non-executive committees, and drive through into embedded practice.

We are looking for an engaging candidate, who can provide clear leadership to this vital brief. You will be responsible for representing the Fund, developing excellent relationships with senior level external stakeholders as well as actively engaging with and building constructive relationships with senior level colleagues across the Senior Management Team and all Directorates.  You will take the lead in understanding our progress in delivering funding strategy across a devolved context, identifying gaps and opportunities to go further in the delivery of our ambitions

This post is critical for the development and improvement of our overall funding strategy, driving the flow through into practice and working across the Fund to realise the ambitions we have set out.We are looking for a candidate to promote a culture of experimentation, and collaboration that supports our priorities around equity, environmental sustainability, and community power and evolve our funding policies and practice —making them more open, insight-driven, and transformative.

Essential Criteria

• Experience of grant making and philanthropy at a senior level and understanding of the policy and sector context of the National Lottery Community Fund

• Experience of embedding equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) into all aspect of work
• Experience of working with senior stakeholders across public, private and voluntary sectors 
• Significant experience of working with non-executive Board and Committee members

Job Title: Eastern European IGVA

Location:Hybrid working with a requirement to occasionally work at Head Office (Vauxhall, London) and co-locations in three West London boroughs (Ealing, Brent, Hounslow)
Salary: £28,857.12 per annum (Inclusive of London Weighting, which may not be applicable depending on your home location and any agreed permanent homeworking arrangement)

We are excited to share an opportunity to join Refuge as an Eastern European Independent Gender  Violence Advocate (IGVA) as we enter an important new chapter of growth, supported by funding from the National Lottery Community Fund. This is a vital role which provides high quality practical and emotional support to survivors of domestic abuse and their children in the community.

You will be part of a highly skilled and supportive team committed to collaborative working and continuous learning. This role offers the chance to strengthen multi-agency partnerships to enhance outreach and support for survivors, while also contributing to increasing professional understanding of the specific needs of Eastern European women and children affected by domestic abuse and violence.

You will provide capacity-building in the form of advice, advocacy, support, and briefings across three London boroughs to statutory agencies and community organizations around the needs of Eastern European domestic abuse survivors, to embed best practice across our communities.

It is essential for candidates to be proficient in one or more Eastern European languages.

We particularly encourage applications from Romanian, Lithuanian or Polish speaking candidates.

You will have proven experience of providing direct emotional and practical support to women as well as up-to-date knowledge of legislation relating to survivors of gender-based violence.

You will have excellent casework skills, good written and verbal communication skills, clear professional boundaries and be a proactive team player.
