The Community Outreach worker will provide high quality practical and emotional support to survivors of domestic abuse in accordance with Refuge’s philosophical principles. The post holder will inform the survivor on the options and support available, empowering the survivor to make decisions and achieve their goals to increase their safety, confidence and independence. The role involves working with a range of statutory and non-statutory agencies to advocate on behalf of survivors and promote access to services to meet their needs. The outreach worker will work within Derby City.

The Role

In this role, you will support the Finance Manager in providing a proactive, efficient, and highly effective finance service across the Diocesan Board of Finance and Trust custodian company, as well as supporting the larger finance team who look after the Board of Education.

The role will be diverse, starting with managing the day-to-day functions but also assisting in all areas of the finance function, including bank reconciliations, VAT, forecasting and reporting.

You will play a key role within a Finance department totalling 9 staff, with input into the future running and design of how the department continues to move forward and grow.

About You

The Swan Youth Project (SYP) Limited is a Berkhamsted based registered charity which offers 11-16+ years old of Berkhamsted and the surrounding area, a safe and secure recreational facility within which they can relax and socialise away from the stresses of school or home life. To support them in this we provide a daily drop-in facility with organised activities at the centre as well as holiday programmes, workshops, music gigs and so much more.

The SYP centre is well equipped with a DJ booth, pool table, table football, Internet room, chill-out room, Wii & Xbox, coffee bar and a fully equipped band practice room. A free snack and hot drink are offered to all members (some of whom may not have eaten all day).

ABOUT THE ROLE: You will help plan, execute and engage in activities that enhance member development.

Duties will include:

1. Running daily sessions both in the centre and off-site activities / trips

2. Assist with the planning and set up of specific activities

3. Engage and build positive relationships with young people, responding appropriately to challenging situations

4. Create a calm and safe environment for both the young people and the staff.

5. All team members take on a share of the activities required for the smooth running of the centre; i.e. running our social media channels, fundraising, timely completion of all required centre checks

The Centre for Progressive Change (CPC) is an organisation that builds campaigns for national policy change in the UK. Our focus is on making progressive gains that improve the lives of low- and middle-income communities. County Lines is a phenomenon in which criminal drug dealing operations are expanding their operations outside of the larger cities, taking over drug markets in smaller towns. Gangs target vulnerable children and young people and coerce them to transport and distribute mainly Class A drugs into areas where there is less police presence, less competition and high demand for their product.

About this exciting opportunity

This pivotal role will see you referring clients, with reference to St Giles Trust/Rescue and Response assessment practices. You will also need to produce support plans and risk management and planning process, and to include appropriate agencies in the delivery of the service.

You will also deliver a holistic support service, working independently or with colleagues, which will include providing social and housing support, education, training and employment options, benefits work, debt advice, and appearing in court. Developing and maintaining strong relationships with regional agencies including police and social services is a key aspect of the role.

What we are looking for:

• Personal experience of the criminal justice system, lived experience of the issues facing this client group and/or experience of working with ‘high risk’, vulnerable children, young people and/or families
• Experience of engaging successfully with ‘challenging’ young people
• Substantial experience of providing support, advice and advocacy and communicating effectively, the needs of clients to other professionals
• Strong IT skills, particularly MS Office, and the ability to work with a case database
• The ability to use and develop monitoring systems to record all aspects of the project
• Knowledge of and commitment to safeguarding practices and policies, and ability to promote safeguarding among vulnerable clients and colleagues.

As Head of Digital, your core responsibilities will include:

• Lead the development and implementation of the charity's digital transformation strategy
• Provide digital leadership and expertise across the organisation
• Oversee the development of digital platforms to enhance brand and mission delivery
• Lead the delivery of key digital projects on time and within budget
• Enhance data analysis and CRM capabilities, developing reporting dashboards, generating data-driven insights and making recommendations to optimise performance and growth
• Manage the digital marketing budget and relationships with third-party suppliers
• Work with the Director of Marketing and Communications to build, implement, and maintain a consistent and high impact brand strategy
• Lead high-quality campaign activity on all digital channels, demonstrating the charity's thought leadership and influencing policymakers and politicians and ensuring brand and messaging is consistent through all digital channels
• Oversee development of content for websites, social media and newsletters
• Ensure communications channels influence existing and potential donors and supporters of the charity

We'd love to hear from candidates with the following skills and experience:

• Proven significant experience in senior digital leadership and/or strategy development
• Strong track record of managing agency partnerships
• Expertise in influencing public opinion or behaviour through communications and marketing
• Experience leading and motivating a digital team
• Success in delivering consumer-facing, digital-first campaigns
• Skilled in managing relationships with senior external stakeholders
• Excellent cross-departmental collaboration and communication skills

We're particularly interested in receiving applications from candidates who have the following experience, although this is not essential:

• Experience of contributing to organisational strategy development
• Good understanding of the role of digital marketing to deliver strategic growth
• Knowledge of using data insights to support strategy development
• Knowledge of how behavioural insight can be utilised to deliver behaviour change
