About the role

As the UK 4–10 Programme Team Leader, you’ll shape and lead the strategic direction for our youngest sections—Squirrels, Beavers and Cubs—ensuring they experience a high-quality, exciting programme that equips them with skills for life. You’ll work closely with dedicated volunteers across the UK, supporting and inspiring them to deliver engaging content that meets our national priorities. This role involves setting priorities, overseeing key projects, and leading a motivated team focused on Programme and Community Impact.

Canine Partners is looking for caring homes to care for and train our puppies before they progress to assistance dog training. We consider this a long-term volunteer role as the puppy / dog will live with you. ‘Without the continued hard work and support from our puppy volunteers, we would not be able to provide our clients with our life changing dogs.You will need to be available for and attend training sessions, during the working week. This can involve:

• Home visits

• Group sessions in the community
• Regular group puppy training classes

You will need to attend regular visits within your local community to various environments to carefully expose the puppy to the following conditions, under the direction of your Puppy Training Coordinator, to socialise them: residential areas, busy town environments, car travel, public transport, children, cats, other dogs (different breeds), and other domestic animals.

With the guidance, support, and advice from our expert trainers, you will be taught the fundamentals of puppy socialisation as well as simple cues and exercises. For example:

• Identifying the dogs’ needs
• Home behaviour
• Social behaviour
• Walking on a lead
• Off lead exercise
• General obedience   

You will need to maintain the dog’s health and welfare by following guidance from the Puppy Training Coordinator and report any concerns immediately.

What we require from you

• The primary puppy volunteer must be 18 years of age or over.
• You will need to reside in a house/bungalow/ground floor flat with a dog friendly secure garden (non-shared) NB We are unable to accept a townhouse for puppies under the age of 6 months due to health and safety risks to the volunteer and puppy.
• If you are a dog owner, with up to two pet dogs of suitable temperament, as assessed during the home check, you are welcome to apply. They must be over 18 months of age and have lived within the home for at least six months.
• You will need to be at home for most of the day, able to engage with your Puppy Training Coordinator, and live within the boundaries of the Puppy Training Region.
• You need to have the Time to provide the puppy with the socialisation and education it needs to prepare it for assistance dog training.
• You will need the Stamina to manage a young active puppy / dog.
• You will need Access to a car, so that you can train the puppy to be comfortable whilst travelling, to travel to veterinary appointments, classes, and training locations on a regular basis.
• Be mindful that the dog in your care remains under the ownership of Canine Partners, and as such advice from Canine Partners’ representatives should be followed.

Support and Training

• Induction process which includes submitting of an information form, telephone interview, home visit, training, and handling sessions
• Each volunteer is allocated a Canine Partners Puppy Training Coordinator as their first point of contact.
• Receive regular training, resources, and other essential information via your Puppy Training Coordinator, this may be in the format of verbal instructions, physical copies, digital instructions, video, and webinar resources or in person.
• No previous dog ownership experience is needed but you must meet the criteria listed above to be considered.
• Holiday cover and appointments cover can be arranged.
• Payment of expenditure such as mileage to and from a training session with a Canine Partner representative
• Access to our volunteer portal with many resources for your use.

This is a voluntary, unremunerated role, although we do cover all reasonable expenses and applicable care costs.

Luminus is a Surrey-based Community Interest Company (CIC) which exists to make sure those voices are heard. We are now seeking new Non-Executive Directors to help guide the next stage of our growth. This is a great time to join a well-led and well-governed organisation, bringing your existing skills, or building your experience on a Board, as we offer a warm welcome, friendly atmosphere, mentorship and training - as well as the chance to make a real difference. In particular (but not exclusively), we welcome applicants who have experience of one or more of the following:

• growing a business;
• a network of contacts across Surrey and beyond who are potentially relevant to the wider business interests of Luminus; and/ or

We are seeking a talented Video Editor who can create engaging videos for our new upcoming website and fundraising campaigns.

We appreciate volunteers with experience in editing videos for fundraising purposes, but we are open to those who do not necessarily have the experience but wish to learn.

As a volunteer-led charity, it’s essential for us to find someone who understands the importance of being part of our team and engaging in the entire creative process. Therefore, we will prioritise applications from volunteers who wish to commit to a long-term partnership and want to be an integral member of our team.

What do you need to become our Video Editor?

Essential:

· 3+ years professional experience with Video Editing and ability to create engaging and professional videos.

The Cultural Me is a platform for arts and culture with a focus on discovering practical solutions for mental wellbeing, leisure and travel.

We are looking for writers to research and write micro-articles (roughly 750 words), on selected subjects, for example, a piece on Tolstoy, or Early Renaissance to Contemporary Art, or Latin American magic realism to Postcolonial Literature, or Sri Lankan culture, or Beethoven, or Film...
