We are looking for someone to work with a clear strategy and then develop, grow and successfully manage our Youth Advisory (YAG) and Alumni groups, as well as lead the engagement of families / support networks. The ideal candidate is someone who will ensure interns accessing the DFN Project SEARCH model are at the heart of decision making and who will champion their rights and their participation. We are looking for someone who has a strong understanding of advocacy and the rights and entitlements of young adults with special educational needs and disabilities.

We are in our third year of running our YAG and yet to launch our Alumni offer. This role will therefore involve leading the implementation, development, and growth of the membership of both DFN Project SEARCH YAG and Alumni group. This will include planning and facilitating a programme of activities throughout the year for YAG and Alumni members, which we hope will be a mix of in person and online events.

This post holder will also provide ongoing training to YAG, Alumni and parent/carer members and facilitate their participation in our advocacy work. There will also be opportunities to deliver training to our central and partner teams alongside members of these groups

About the role 

This vacancy is for a University Access Officer to work in London across up to 3 schools along with remote working. Our schools are shown on a map of The Access Project schools on our website.

The University Access Officer works with school staff at all levels, volunteers tutors, and with the rest of The Access Project’s team to ensure that the delivery of the programme is optimised. 

Role responsibilities 

Our schools undertake either our Gateway model, which includes mentoring and tutoring or our Accelerate model, which includes mentoring and coaching. Some Accelerate schools also have tutoring included on our Accelerate Plus model.

Depending on the model in the schools you are based in, role responsibilities will include:

• Engage with students in school and enrol them onto the programme 
• Assess student progress towards being able to make successful university applications 

• Upload information onto the Salesforce database (training is provided) 
• Build and manage relationships with volunteers to ensure they have a positive experience of the programme 
• Manage students’ relationships with volunteers through monitoring of systems, emailing and making phone calls.
• Work with school staff to ensure their cooperation and timely completion of activities contributing to the smooth running of the programme 
• Chair and present at school meetings with Senior Management to report on programme progress. 
• University Access Officers support the volunteering team by helping to deliver volunteer training sessions, and attending university site visits, which take place on occasional Saturdays and weekday evenings (paid time off is provided).

Job Title: Social Media Officer

Reporting to: Digital Marketing Manager

BACKGROUND

Magic Breakfast is a registered charity providing healthy breakfasts to children and young people in the UK who arrive at school too hungry to learn, and expert support to their schools. Over 200,000 children and young people are on roll at Primary, Secondary, ASL / Special Educational Needs Schools and Pupil Referral Units that the charity works with, in disadvantaged areas of Scotland and England. JOB PURPOSE

As part of the Brand and Marketing team, the Social Media Officer will lead on social media strategy for the organization, working closely with teams across Magic Breakfast to develop and diversify our presence on social media. Through innovative, compelling content creation the Social Media Officer will raise awareness of our work and the Magic Breakfast brand. The role's aims are to reach and engage new audiences and to strengthen brand advocacy with exisiting target audiences.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Develop Magic Breakfast social media channels to grow an engaging environment for people with lived experience of childhood morning hunger and our wider supporter network.
• Develop and deliver effective strategies that optimise and grow our social media channels.
• Liase with both Magic Breakfast and corporate partners' design, PR and social media agencies to deliver effective and timely campaigns
• Monitor, improve (through testing and optimisation) and report on the performance and effectiveness of social media content and campaigns
• Write impactful and engaging social posts, sourcing approprtiate imagery and developing video content in collaboration with the Multimedia Producer.

The LSO Development department is looking for a knowledgeable and self-motivated individual to join our team as Trusts & Foundations Officer at an exciting time in the LSO’s history. About you

Experience in fundraising from trusts, foundations and other grant-giving bodies is essential for this role, alongside strong communication skills, high attention to detail and a passion for creating concise and compelling written copy.  An interest in orchestral/classical music is desirable.

The Trusts & Foundations Officer will also support the wider fundraising of the Department, helping to steward current and potential supporters at concerts, special events, and LSO Discovery projects taking place across east London.

6. To advertise project opportunities to autistic people throughout London and manage project recruitment and onboarding.

7. To ensure processes are in-place for each project to:- assess each participant’s individual skills and gather baseline data; ensure job matches are appropriate to the individual’s needs and aspirations; and that targets set are relevant and promote new skills and learning; acquire and complete necessary risk assessments to ensure safety of clients, staff and partners.

8. To oversee the set up and settling in of jobseekers into work placements, when needed. Providing support and training to employers where required; providing personalised on the job training to participants and employers as required and develop strategies and advise on reasonable adjustments.

9. To coach, train and help manage new project staff to support jobseekers and put in place monitoring protocols.

10.  To ensure jobseekers are progressing towards their individual targets; understand protocols and interpret work culture correctly; understand the health & safety in the work environment and adopt appropriate workplace behaviour.

11.  To ensure good working relationships are maintained with all employers/ work experience placements and that feedback is regularly sort from all stakeholders to help improve our service delivery and future opportunities.

12.  As a key member of the Development Team to work closely with the Development Director to actively, engage with employers and external organisations to promote CareTrade and our job seekers and to pursue opportunities to work collaboratively.

13.  To attend events, to market CareTrade to autistic jobseekers and to liaise with Disability Employment Advisors at JobCentre Plus, Disability Services teams, Social Workers and others to promote and support employment opportunities as needed.

14.  To organise and promote social groups for jobseekers.

15.  To collect data and use data analysis to help produce reports, internally, for funders and partners.

16.   To help seek and apply for appropriate awards and grants when required.

17.  To be a Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL)  and First Aider and complete regular training working alongside the Development Director to ensure the safety of participants and staff.

What you will be doing as the Director of Service Transformation:

• Lead and execute services strategies and plans that extend and transform the impact and financial sustainability of the charity’s services and support for disabled children, young people and their families.

As Director of Education, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the educational direction of the BIR. It's a leadership position which involves overseeing the development of new initiatives, programmes and strategies to enhance the BIR’s educational offerings and outcomes, and the post-holder will be responsible for the strategic focus and financial performance of the BIR Education programme.

We're half way through our new five-year strategy, and the education team plays a key role in helping to ensure the BIR remains financially sustainable, offering education to more people, and helping expand the membership. • To aid the Digital Skills Development Manager to support the creation of editorial and marketing scripts.

• To assist the Quality and Standards Manager to develop teaching tools for educators in colleges and training providers.

3. Support to champion future skills – Competition portfolio reviews and audit:
