The Peer Support In-Reach Service is a partnership between several local Minds. Peer Support Workers and Senior Peer Support Workers, who have direct lived experience of mental health issues, are working on in-patient wards in Croydon, Greenwich, Lambeth, Lewisham and Wandsworth to provide recovery-focused peer support to people as they leave hospital and journey towards being settled in the community and living independently.

South East London Mind have a vacancy for a part-time Senior Peer Support Worker to join the team in Lewisham and line manage a Peer Support Worker.

The successful candidate will have personal lived experience of mental health problems, as well as experience of managing staff or volunteers. You will need to be able to travel around the local area to meet your clients in the community and work in hospitals.

You will use your lived experience to help people build skills to develop independence, connect with family and friends, pursue social or vocational interests, get more involved in their local community and stay healthy and mentally well. Your support will be person-centred and may include mentoring, coaching, facilitating access to community activities and providing practical and emotional support. You will meet people before they leave the ward and work with them to develop their own support plan, empowering them as they transition back into the community.

Lambeth Step Forward Recovery Cluster is an accommodation based service, set across Lambeth including hub sites situated in Brixton and West Norwood. The service provides care and support to over 60 customers living with enduring long term mental health. We also provide a service for two short-term post hospital discharge schemes for customers, who need support following hospital admission.

The role of our Support Worker play's a crucial role in fulfilling our customers expectations, making a positive difference and where appropriate supporting customers to step down to a lower level of support. Our Support Worker's are guided and mentored by 2 team leaders alongside a Contract Manager and as part of the team you will be developing and sustaining a good quality service to all our customers. An essential part of this role involves developing good partnership working with a range of professional's and maintaining excellent record keeping in line with our compliance management. More importantly, you will be required to oversee support planning, updating Risk Management Plans, and Keyworking. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of and help shape a new DHSC funded project - Early Support Hubs - providing innovative ways to support Young People’s (11 – 25 years) Mental Health and Wellbeing across the borough of Hackney.

This Early Intervention approach will enable young people to access support in a timely way within their own community and we will work collaboratively with the Hackney Super Youth Hub enabling a one stop shop experience for local young people.

We are looking for passionate and motivated Therapeutic Youth Workers who are committed to supporting positive change for local young people to join our team.

Main Responsibilities:

· Undertake 1:1, group, detached and outreach work with young people

· Provide one-to-one key-working up to 12 sessions, combining youth work values and principles with a therapeutic, trauma-informed approach to help address a wide range of issues that may impact on young people’s mental health and wellbeing e.g. housing, employment, physical health, education, finances and relationships.

· Use a supportive, young person-centred approach. e.g. explaining what services are and what they do, ensuring information is accurate and up-to-date, filling out forms together, making personal introductions, accompanying young people to initial meetings/sessions, being with them during phone calls etc.  

· To work with the Hackney Super Youth Hub, to support young people and liaise with appropriate professionals in the network.

· To maintain confidential, up to date and accurate records of all sessions and plans.

· Be an advocate for young people, supporting colleagues to understand adolescence, and how to engage with young people, particularly with concerns around:

o mental health and wellbeing of children and young people.

o Supporting vulnerable groups who would not otherwise receive support (levelling-up).

· QCF Level 3 Diploma in Youth work or equivalent and have experience of youth work in a youth work setting

· Experience of working with young people, delivering therapeutic groups and/or 1 to 1 interventions in a youth work or similar setting.

· Experience of building positive, impactful relationships with young people responding to their needs

This could be the perfect role for you! The Family Support Worker is an exciting role within a growing and dynamic team, where you can help to make a real difference to the lives of unpaid carers in Lambeth. 

Having identified a gap in the identification of young carers and adult carers looking after someone with substance misuse issues, over the past year we have successfully piloted a project to identify and provide long-term support to these carers. We are now entering the second year of the project, and are looking for a new Family Support Worker to bring their expertise, enthuasism and ideas to the next stage of the project. 

The Family Support Worker will work across our Young Carers and Adult Carers Service to provide support to families affected by substance misuse, through whole-family assessments and reviews. The successful candidate will ensure that adult and young carers, and their families, have access to a range of emotional and practical support appropriate to their needs.

The successful candidate will have an understanding of working within the substance misuse field and an understanding of associated health and social issues. They will preferably have experience of working with both adults, children and young people. We are seeking candidates with a professional qualification in health & social care, youth or community work, and/or direct experience of delivering family focused interventions.

The Rape and Sexual Abuse Support Centre (Rape Crisis South London) is looking for a committed, professional and skilled Helpline Support worker to provide high quality emotional support, information and signposting in our Support Line team.

The 24/7 Rape and Sexual Abuse Support Line is a partnership between Rape Crisis England and Wales, the Rape and Sexual Abuse support Centre (RASASC - Rape Crisis South London) and two other Rape Crisis Centres (ARCH Teesside and Lincolnshire Rape Crisis). The post-holder for this role is employed by RASASC (Rape Crisis South London).

The post-holder will provide emotional support, information and signposting to survivors of any form of sexual violence, of any gender, aged 16 and upwards, and their supporters via phone calls and chats. Helpline Support Workers also provide support to colleagues and volunteers as part of their daily duties. Helpline Support workers have experience of either providing emotional support on a telephone helpline or experience providing support to survivors of sexual violence. You will also need to have good knowledge and understanding of the impact of sexual violence.

The Service:

The service facilitates peer support and delivery of monthly workshops and drop- ins. The service will provide first-class, person-centred information, advice and guidance to people with learning disabilities through both one-to-one and group support.

The Role:

Support will be flexibly based operating out of a central Bromley office but delivered at various venues across the borough. Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated Floating Support Team Manager to oversee a vital service aimed at providing essential warp-around support to vulnerable residents who have experienced homelessness across Pan London. Our mission is to provide comprehensive support to help clients access good quality private rented accommodation and plan for their long-term future.

Duties:

As a Temporary Lead Worker, you will play a crucial role in the support team by:

• Overseeing a case load of 30 clients with varying support needs.
• Organising weekly appointments with each client and providing personalised support.
• Writing clear and concise monthly and weekly reports to document client progress.
• Assisting clients with budgeting, financial management, and maintaining their tenancy.
• Providing emotional support and encouragement to clients.
• Empowering clients to pursue hobbies, attend appointments, and seek opportunities for work, education, or training.
• Promoting independence and teaching life skills to enable clients to transition to an independent lifestyle.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Strong record and understanding of delivering effective support services to vulnerable populations.
• Knowledge of key working and case working approaches, including penalisation agendas.
• Understanding of the complex issues contributing to homelessness and their impact on individual's lives.
• Experience in supporting and supervising casework practice.
• Ability to work independently while remaining accountable to management.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to establish rapport with clients, colleagues, and external stakeholders.

Bank Support Workers will provide support to customers to help them develop the life skills they require to meet the assessed needs of the customers of the service. In some services, this will include providing physical, domestic, emotional and social care. What you'll do:

* If a need arises, deliver all aspects of support to enable a customer to develop independent living skills as appropriate to the individual needs of the customer. In some services, this will include delivering personal and physical care as appropriate
* Support customers to undertake all domestic tasks wherever possible, including practical assistance where they have not yet developed the skills, to ensure customers enjoy a high quality of accommodation
* Participate in the support planning and risk management, as facilitated by the lead Support Worker
* Carry out security duties to ensure the safety of the customers and premises
* Monitor the CCTV throughout the shift
* Enable customers to make full use of community facilities by providing support as directed
* Carry out support duties to enable customers to integrate into the community including e.g. accompanying the customer to attend benefit agency appointments and meetings, go shopping, to enquire at colleges about possible courses, to visit various public amenities
* Report any observations relating to customers welfare
* Adhere to all the policies and procedures of Look Ahead Care, Support & Housing plus those specific to the project including any statutory requirements
* Ensure Look Ahead Health and Safety policies and local protocols are adhered to at all times
* Maintain records as required at the project under the direction of the Support Workers/ management
* Participate in team meetings/reviews and the general development of the service
* Undertake any other duties consistent with the grade and nature of the post as may be reasonably assigned

About the role:

This role is home-based with egular travel to our office in Plymouth & throughout Devon and Cornwall. As a Domestic Abuse Caseworker you will:

• Develop, deliver and monitor safety and support plans for those affected by crime (primarily domestic abuse) who accept ongoing support which will include providing resources, interventions, and information to all service users
• Work alongside and oversee the casework management of a small number of volunteer supporters
• Liaise and actively engage with other local domestic abuse providers to share information on the VS service offer and options for survivors
• Take part in wider VS development around domestic abuse
• Working as part of a team with staff and the volunteer team to provide a seamless service to clients

You will need:

• Understanding of the impact of crime on victims such as domestic abuse, sexual violence, hate crime and anti-social behaviour
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Experience of successfully delivering services and working directly within a statutory, voluntary or multi agency setting(s)
• Ability to balance competing needs and priorities
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Experience of building effective working relationships across internal and external stakeholders
• Personal resilience to manage exposure to highly emotional or sensitive demands of the role
• Ability to manage a caseload including complex case management
• Ability to use generic IT applications competently.
