Job Title: Occupational Therapist
Location: The role is based in East Croydon, accessible by Train and Tram Link. Unfortunately this location does not have step free access.
Salary: £40,000 (Full time equivalent)
Shift Pattern: 22.5 hours per week across three working days, Monday to Friday on a rota between 08:00 - 20:00
About the role
We're looking for an Occupational Therapist who has experience in Complex Mental Health and Substance Misuse to join our residential service based in Croydon. You will use your skills and knowledge to support residents with mental health challenges, complex needs, and will provide specialist occupational therapy as part of their recovery. This is a great opportunity to shape your own role, alongside a team of Positive Engagement Workers, a Dual Diagnosis Worker, and Clinical Psychologist, whilst working closely with the Group Psychological Lead and other external partnerships. You will receive regular supervisions and have time with an external Occupational Therapist.
You will:
- Deliver evidence-based interventions based on holistic assessments to support personalised recovery, integration, and promotion of independent living skills
- Be proactive with planning and delivering meaningful activities; this includes one to one and group sessions
- Work closely with clinical teams to meet people where they are, assess their situation, and write recommendations and signposting accordingly
- Assess their current situation through holistic assessments and put plans in place for them to overcome their personal barriers, to enable them for independent living and stability
- Provide psychologically informed interventions in a person-centred approach, flexibly to the resident needs
- Complete various assessments from function to task related to help empower enhanced community and personal engagement
- Set SMART goals in a collaborative way with residents, taking into account all information present from various team members and partner agencies.
About you
We’re looking for a passionate, driven and qualified Occupational Therapist, registered with the HCPC who has experience working with people that have multiple complex needs. You’ll be confident applying theory to the practical working environment. We use a trauma informed, non judgmental approach, so it’s important that you can work well with others, fit into the team, and build trusting relationships. You will be able to apply your knowledge of relevant guidance and protocols to the working environment. You will have a background in a similar role, able to provide specialist support to our residents who struggle with their mental health and substance use.
What we look for:
- Ability to provide specialised occupational therapy assessment and treatment for residents/participants.
- Willingness to work in adherence to Health and Care Professionals Council (HCPC) and Consultation Observation Tool (COT) and other practice guidelines.
- Ability to identify activity needs and wishes through various approaches such as assessments, observations, and discussions then use these to implement plans of action.
- Ability to recognise signs of deteriorating mental health, physical health, or other health implications and initiate appropriate interventions to prevent crisis or other risks.
- Supporting residents/participants with the relevant life skills, knowledge, and resources to support their journey to achieve independence and their desired goals.
- Ability to develop, participate in, and encourage residents/participants to participate in the running and development of various projects and group engagement activities.

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic (Senior) Research Officer. This exciting role involves undertaking research on gambling related financial harms and engaging with stakeholders in financial services firms to practically apply our research to their work. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent critical thinking, research and policy development skills, with the ability to digest complex information quickly and appraise firms work against regulatory requirements, best practice examples and policy recommendations.
The successful candidate will primarily work as part of the Gambling Harms Action Lab team where we’re bringing together seven representatives from financial services firms to explore ways to reduce gambling related financial harms. The (Senior) Research Officer will be an integral part of the team working to tackle gambling related financial harms through delivering timely and insightful research and consultancy support.

About the Role

We're looking for a Senior Support coach to join our team which focus on supporting residents with OPD (Offender Personality Disorder) and related cognitive or behavioural challenges, many of whom have experienced institutional care or social exclusion. You will play a key role in the day-to-day running of the service, acting as a mentor and lead for the team, providing advice and guidance, as well as providing specialist expertise to the team and residents.

About the Role
We are excited to be expanding our community approach for care experienced children and young people at Become. We have created this new post and are looking for a creative, welcoming coordinator to help us grow and meet the needs of our community. The postholder will coordinate the welcome experience, the community space, and the communications with the group. This support includes one-to-one and group support, funding vital scientific research into stroke prevention, acute treatment, recovery and long-term care, and campaigning to secure the best care for everyone affected by stroke.

The Talent Set are delighted to partner with a fantastic college to appoint an External Communications Officer. This is a pivotal role, responsible for providing external communications expertise across the organisation. You will initiate, develop, and manage communication channels, create compelling content, provide expert advice, and continually improve the service to ensure effective engagement with a wide range of media and external audiences. The role will be central to crafting and delivering key messages that grow and protect the external reputation of the college.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with stakeholders to develop engaging news and announcements for external communications channels and media.
- Support the delivery of stories, news, and journalistic content that enhances visibility and engagement with external stakeholders.
- Collaborate with students, staff, employers, and departments to create powerful content showcasing the college community.
- Support crisis communications for external audiences.
- Devise and deliver external communications plans and campaigns and generating a strong pipeline of positive stories and content
- Build and maintain strong relationships with journalists and key media across print, broadcast, digital, and new platforms.
- Lead in the development of the colleges’ press office and manage press interviews, enquiries, and briefings.
- Contribute to public affairs activity, including preparing briefings and background summaries for senior leaders.
- Provide additional communications and administrative support across the team as required.
Person Specification:
- Proven experience in external communications, media relations, PR or journalism.
- Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills with the ability to tailor messaging to different audiences.
- Confident in handling press enquiries and managing external relationships.
- Experience in developing and delivering communications strategies and campaigns.
- Ability to work under pressure, including supporting crisis communications.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build credibility with stakeholders at all levels.
- Knowledge of safeguarding, equality of opportunity, and best practice in communications within the education or public sector (desirable).
