The Opportunity
As the Humanitarian Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Specialist you will advise and support teams in strengthening the measurement of our results in our humanitarian and disaster response across the organisation. You will provide technical inputs to the finalisation, implementation and ongoing use of Plan’s new global M&E system and ensure that we are able to analyse and report on our disaster and humanitarian results in a consistent and coherent way.
In this role you will provide technical inputs to ensure Plan’s Country Office’s implement the new global thematic M&E frameworks and fully implement the global Monitoring, Evaluation, Research and Learning (MERL) standards. You will strengthen our global reporting analysis and you will provide high quality M&E and humanitarian expertise. You will also drive continuous learning in relation to M&E in the humanitarian context to promote and facilitate active M&E networks across the organisation.
The Individual
We are looking to recruit an innovative individual who has expert M&E knowledge of development and humanitarian work across a wide range of technical areas. You will have significant experience in M&E in disaster and humanitarian settings and a strong understanding of implementing processes, approaches, tools and methodologies that facilitate and deliver M&E in this context. You will have the ability to develop appropriate guidance that is practical for colleagues to understand and use.
To be successful in this role you will have strong analytical and problem-solving skills and be able to communicate complex technical MERL concepts and terminology in simple language to experts and non-experts. You will have strong collaboration skills and you will be able to cooperate and negotiate compromises. You will work with diverse employees from across the organisation and have the ability to build a rapport with a wide range of groups.
Location: Global Hub (Woking, UK where we are all currently working from home due to Government restrictions) or in most locations where Plan International has a legal entity and you have the pre-existing right to live and work. Africa/Europe central time zone is preferable as this role works across all 4 of Plan International’s regions.

Job Outline:
As an ISVA you will provide high quality, proactive (non- therapeutic) support to victims of sexual violence (aged 18+), particularly through the criminal justice process. You will assess each client’s individual needs, inform them about their options, support them in accessing relevant services, and keep them informed about the progress of their case. You will work within a multi-agency framework, working alongside a variety of other professionals to ensure that your clients get the support and information they need.
Core Duties include:
- Providing both face to face and telephone support to those who have experienced sexual violence.
- Managing a case load ensuring that each client receives the appropriate service individual to their needs, both at the time of crisis and in the longer term, to include:
- Identifying the support needs of each individual client via a holistic assessment process.
- Providing information and support, with a focus on enabling your clients to make informed choices about the options available to them.
- Supporting your clients through the criminal justice process, including support and attendance at court, as required.
- Advocating on behalf of your clients with other agencies as required, maintaining an independent role, and ensuring that their needs remain central at all times.
- Working within a multi-agency framework, and liaising with other statutory and voluntary agencies.
What we’re looking for:
We are looking for someone with:
- Experience of working with individuals who have experienced sexual violence, whether in a paid or voluntary capacit
- An excellent understanding of sexual violence, including the impact on victims, their families and their children.Knowledge of civil and criminal justice remedies for victims of sexual violence.
- An understanding of safeguarding issues, and the legal responsibilities surrounding these.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and advisory skills - both written and verbal - when interacting with a range of agencies and individuals.
- Good Crisis management skills and the ability to deal with stressful and difficult situations.
- Use of a vehicle and a full, clean, UK driving license. Please note: due to the nature of the post it is an essential requirement that applicants are able to drive.

AVUK is a small, award-winning national charity that is transforming the lives of deaf children across the UK. The post holder will join a highly-committed and passionate team of 24 staff, and will work closely with the Clinical and Operations teams to provide the best outcomes for families. The job will include a mix of home working and in-centre working in our Bicester and Bermondsey centres, with one centre being the base.
The Family Support Manager will be one of the primary points of contact for families on the AVUK programme and will provide advocacy, practical support and information services to parents and other carers of children with hearing loss on the programme at AVUK. About Digital Home School Support Programme
Purpose of role
Many families have been thrown into the unknown world of home schooling – made even more challenging when your own education isn’t up to scratch or English is your second language. We are rolling out a free programme of home school support to those who are being most negatively impacted by being out of school – ensuring they don’t fall too far behind their peers when returning back to school.
The aim is to support children who may be falling behind with their studies as a result of Covid_19, mitigating as far as possible the widening attainment gap.
Duties will vary dependent on your skills/ availability but may include:
- Planning sessions in line with relevant Key stage curriculum
- Delivering engaging group sessions online on a weekly basis
- Delivering 1-2-1 support sessions on a weekly basis (DBS required for these sessions)
You need to be:
- A qualified teacher (QTS)
- Knowledgeable in your subject field
- Engaging
- Reliable
- Passionate about social change and making a difference
- DBS checked (if facilitating 1-2-1 support sessions)
Notes: This programme will evolve in line with social distancing rules and may adapt to being an additional home-work club to support children in “catching up” upon their return to school.

We are currently recruiting for the role of Sessional Tutor to deliver - An Introduction to Community Interpreting, progressing on to Level 1 and L2 accredited courses, in the Newcastle and Northumberland area.
We are looking for tutors who specialise in this curriculum area and hold a formal teaching qualification.
You will be excited by using digital technology both in the classroom with the student and to manage course administration and communication. Annualised and term time contracts are available for suitable applicants.
