Education Administrator

About the role:
Working as part of a small team, the Education Administrator is responsible for developing and ensuring the successful delivery of all aspects of the SCTS educational portfolio. This includes organising the sponsorship grant process, advertising, application processes, registration, venue, invoicing, accounts, catering, accommodation and post course feedback. This will require attending and supporting the events both online and on site.
The post holder will also be required to coordinate the SCTS Education sub-committee meetings which will include producing agendas and papers as well as attending and minuting the meetings.
About you:
We are looking for a highly organised team player who can demonstrate excellent relevant multi tasking administration experience including working with finance and accounting software. You must also be a proactive, innovative, team-worker with good communication skills who can work collaboratively with many stakeholders.

The Society for Cardiothoracic Surgery (SCTS) is a professional society for all healthcare professionals involved and interested in cardiothoracic surgery.
This role supports the main purpose of advancing science in the field of cardiothoracic surgery for the benefit of the public by encouraging and promoting excellence in the practice of cardiothoracic surgery.
The SCTS Education team is responsible for overseeing the education of the members of the society and has developed, over the past few years, a comprehensive portfolio of courses for all categories of professionals including Consultants, Medical Practitioners, Nationally Appointed Surgical Trainees, Trust appointed doctors and Nurses and Allied Health Professionals.
The team work flexibly from home and on site at least one day a week (but more will be required for initial training) at our office based in the Royal College of Surgeons of England in Central London.

About the role
This is an exciting opportunity for a candidate with pedagogical expertise, a love of learning and a deep passion for our mission to help raise the grades of disadvantaged students and enable them gain places at top universities.
Raising student attainment is at the heart of the work we do and enables our students to place at selective universities. This position represents our focus on ensuring maximum impact for our students by delivering the support, resources and interventions they need to consistently make attainment improvements.
You’ll lead on driving impact through our tuition interventions in a role divided into two parts, with a focus on (I) Programme Quality and (II) Programme Development:
- Design, implementation and review of our Tuition Quality Assurance activities.
- Delivery and evaluation of our KS5 Attainment Raising Pilot testing the feasibility and impact of small group tuition.
(I) Programme Quality (0.3 FTE)
Reporting to the Head of Programme Quality, in this part of the role the Senior Attainment Coordinator will ensure our programme is impactul and raises the attainment of the young people enrolled. You will focus on in-year tactical improvements and the development of activities and resources that drive impactful and high quality volunteer tuition.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Deliver the Tuition Quality Assurance Framework activities, including our webinar programme and tutorial observations across the regions we work in.
- Oversee the management of resources used to raise student attainment (including third party subscriptions) ensuring they are up to date, high quality, easily accessible and disseminated effectively.
- Work with the volunteering team to ensure that stewardship of the volunteering experience is responsive to tutor needs and focused on driving high attainment; including input to tutor training and tutor surveys, and oversight of the annual webinar suite.
- Contribute to planning and delivering The Access Project’s performance management processes including our termly Programme Review Meetings (PRMs) with a focus on the continuous improvement to the delivery, quality and outcomes of tuition, including feeding back key monitoring insights such as our bi-annual student survey.
- Design and develop/deliver induction training for University Access Officers (and other staff where applicable) to support quality assurance across the organisation.
- Use an evidence based approach to conduct the annual Quality Review process.
(II) Programme Development (0.7 FTE)
Reporting to the Head of Programme Development, the post holder will lead on the delivery and evaluation of the KS5 Attainment Raising Pilot, testing the feasibility of delivering paid for small group tuition at A level. The Senior Attainment Coordinator will work across functions, to ensure the pilot runs smoothly and that students receive consistent, high quality tuition.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead on the recruitment and onboarding of paid tutors, ensuring they receive the required training including online platform usage, tuition best practice and safeguarding.
- Lead student selection and group creation in collaboration with staff and key stakeholders.
- Liaise with tutors and University Access Officers to drive high tutorial attendance, ensuring attendance management systems are functional and fit for purpose.
- Troubleshoot technical and logistical issues with tutors, students and The Access Project online tuition team to ensure tutorial consistency.
- Deliver quality assurance activities by conducting tutorial observations and providing feedback and advice to tutors, University Access Officers and students where appropriate.
- Review pilot performance data and make recommendations on how to improve delivery through termly Programme Review Meetings and informal channels with key stakeholders.
- Work cross-functionally and liaise with key stakeholders e.g. school leaders and Programme Managers to ensure successful delivery across key metrics.
- Develop and deliver the pilot monitoring and evaluation plan, collecting and consolidating a range of feedback to be used in future design and implementation.
- Develop the Group Tuition Quality Assurance Framework based on evidence led research.

We are the only non-profit tutoring organisation working exclusively with further education – specifically with colleges, sixth forms and independent learning providers. Job Description – Alternative Provision and LAC Coordinator
Post Title: Alternative Provision and LAC Coordinator
Responsible to: Alternative Provision and LAC Manager (AP/LAC)
Job Purpose:
The AP/LAC Coordinator post is an exciting role with Tutor Trust.
You will assist the AP/LAC Manager by liaising with local schools, Alternative Provision Settings and Virtual Schools Teams and organising tuition within these settings. This will include coordinating tuition sessions, attending meetings with partner organisations and arranging tutor cover etc.
The work of the Alternative Provision and LAC team has a focus on continuing the work initiated by our DfE supported project – The Right Angle. This project aims to support young people in AP or LAC by providing a combined approach of counselling and tuition in collaboration with a partner charity, Talk; Listen; Change (TLC).
You will work alongside our Director of Alternative Provision and LAC and Lead AP/LAC Coordinator to continue to develop a close partnership with TLC. You will also support the tutor recruitment and training process and help to ensure that it runs smoothly. You will maintain and improve systems for the benefit of all our tutors, including ongoing tutor support.
If you have solid relevant experience, have the best interests of young people at heart plus a desire to work with an innovative charity, then this could be the role for you.
Main Functions
- Advertise and allocate tuition to AP and LAC tutors and attend meetings with providers to set up and monitor on-going tuition assignments

About the opportunity
We are looking for a dynamic individual who enjoys working with technology, thrives on managing projects, and is keen to grow and learn alongside our charity. As an approved National Tutoring Programme Tuition Provider, Action Tutoring has been able to scale our school partnerships significantly since 2020. In 2021/22 we worked with more than 6000 pupils in 150 schools and wish to grow to reach up to 300 schools over the next few years.
Prior to 2020, all our tutoring was delivered in person but we have swiftly adapted to the demands of virtual learning and now support the delivery of thousands of online tutoring sessions every single week. Our evidence-based model means that we are passionate that our volunteer tutors, Programme Coordinators, and schools have the systems and skills that enable them to deliver effective tutoring for the most disadvantaged pupils in the country.
The Online Programmes Manager plays a key role in ensuring that our online classroom technology and Learning Management System are fit for purpose and maintained for appropriate use by our volunteer tutors.
You will ideally have experience with e-learning and are confident in troubleshooting technical issues. You will need to be independently motivated and have an eye for innovation and incremental improvements. The successful candidate should be able to manage their own workload to an exceptionally high standard as well as support others, have excellent attention to detail and be able to work well with a range of stakeholders.

Duties and responsibilities

About the opportunity
We are looking for a new Data Manager to administer our Salesforce CRM and manage the organisation’s wider data processes. Currently, we use a highly customised Salesforce build to manage the delivery of our tutoring programmes, capturing volunteer, pupil, school and programme delivery data, and are deploying integrations to other systems. As a charity that is very focused on being evidence-based, capturing data with ease and accuracy is a key priority.
Along with the support of external consultants, our Data Manager will ensure our database is fit for purpose so that data capture and extraction is working smoothly for all staff in the organisation. Building reports and dashboards to visualise data and track KPIs is a regular request for this role. Along with the Evaluation & Research Manager, this role will enable insights to be drawn from the data.
In addition to administration of established data processes and line managing the Data & Evaluation Administrator, this role will play a key part in the Impact Strategy in Action Tutoring (2022-2027), which includes the ambition to assess pupil progress digitally, streamline pupil core data collection, and produce timely and insightful reports/portals that help staff, volunteers, pupils, schools and parents visualise progress and engagement in our tutoring programmes.

About the opportunity
Leading the communications function at a national education charity, you will be responsible for the network communications to over 2,500 active volunteers and other groups. You will ensure volunteers progress through their tutoring journey and engage with a tutoring opportunity, coordinating additional communications to add value to their experience and analysing the effectiveness of your activities.

We are recruiting for a maternity cover for the Director of Programme Management in The Brilliant Tutoring Programme (BTP).
This role will play an important role in the delivery and leadership of The Brilliant Tutoring Programme, which is currently being delivered as part of the government’s National Tutoring Programme (NTP). The Brilliant Club is also exploring opportunities for the charity to deliver attainment raising activities beyond the NTP. This role will be important in scoping possible forms of attainment raising work.
The Director of Programme Management will provide team leadership of the BTP team, to ensure excellent programme delivery to all BTP schools. They will ensure that systems and processes for the delivery of BTP are effective and efficient, supporting the BTP Manager to have oversight of BTP delivery cycles. The Director of Programme Management will ensure high school renewal rates and high Net Promoter Scores from schools and tutors, as needed they will support with unresolved stakeholder management resolution. This really is a generalist role where no two days will be the same. You will need to be hands on with all aspects of HR and be prepared to be involved in a variety of tasks. You will have experience of delivering a high quality, flexible HR service, responsive to the needs of the organisation and in line with legislative requirements and good practice.
Other key responsibilities include:
- Provide first-line HR advice, support and guidance to managers and colleagues in all matters of employee relations, including disciplinary, advice, grievance, performance management, change
- management, capability and absence management;
- Oversee all end to end recruitment, with the support of the HR Assistant;
- Produce management information reports on a range of issues, to include sickness/absence management, staff turnover and employee life cycle data;
- Monitor, review and update all HR policies and ensure these are in line with the current legislation;
- Provide first line HR advice and guidance to managers and employees on HR policies and procedures, inclusive of; absence / attendance management, maternity, paternity, flexible working requests,
- probationary periods, remuneration and benefits etc.;
- Manage employee relations cases as required, including Bullying and Harassment, Conduct, Performance Management, and Sickness absence in line with SPEAR’s Policies, Employment Law and best
- practice.

About You
- CIPD Level 5 or working towards and experience of providing a confident HR advisory service to managers and employees covering generalist activity
- Experience in the development and implementation of employment policies and procedures
- Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate and build relationships with a wide range of internal and external contacts to inspire trust and confidence
- A ‘can do’ outcome focused attitude and approach, resourceful and works to make things happen taking others along with them
- Highly organised with the ability to handle conflicting demands through to meet deadlines with minimum supervision
- Ability to demonstrate confidentiality and sensitivity in dealing with HR issues, especially when handling sensitive situations and information
- A confident communicator (both verbal and written) with a personable and professional manner and the ability to interact and relate to all levels of staff and build strong working relationships
- Broad practical knowledge of all areas of HR including employment law and interpreting legislation for the purposes of internal policies / advice

Role Overview
The Pembroke Academy of Music is an open-access music education programme run by Pembroke House with a vision that all young people should have the opportunity to learn and grow through high-quality engagement with music. PAM works toward this vision by offering local children low-cost classical music instrumental instruction, providing opportunities for them to perform and enjoy classical music and supporting their personal development through music.
The role of the PAM Administrator is to manage all the logistical details of the PAM programme from organising the schedule to managing the instrument loan programme to coordinating field trips and overseeing the billing process. It requires that you are both organised and friendly as you are the first point of contact for the students. Your work ensures that PAM runs smoothly and that all students, tutors and volunteers experience the programme as well organised.
