About the Role
This is an exciting and varied opportunity to join Arthritis Action at a pivotal time as we are in the process of developing our 2027-2030 strategy. As our Engagement and Events Co-ordinator (Devon and Cornwall), you’ll play a key role in expanding our reach and impact across the region, ensuring more people have access to our resources and delivering our programme of online events.
You'll engage with a wide range of communities and professionals and support the delivery of online groups and outreach projects. From working with underrepresented communities to helping us connect with more people living with arthritis to support them to self-manage their condition.
Key Responsibilities
Community Outreach & Engagement
- Build and maintain relationships with local organisations, healthcare professionals, and community leaders.
- Organise and deliver community presentations and outreach activities to promote Arthritis Action's services and resources.
- Actively support the delivery of our Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Strategy by engaging with diverse and underrepresented groups across the region, including rurally isolated and low-income communities.
- Consolidate findings from the community outreach work into a report by the end of the fixed term contract.
Networking & Relationship Building
- Identify and pursue new networking opportunities with community, healthcare, and voluntary sector partners.
- Represent Arthritis Action at regional events.
- Support collaboration across projects and teams to maximise impact.
- Identify opportunities to work with local volunteers to help raise awareness of Arthritis Action.
Events
- Help promote attendance at our online groups and events to those living in Devon and Cornwall.
- Support the delivery of our programme of online Groups and Events.
- Assist in gathering feedback to help evaluate this service.
General Duties
- Maintain up-to-date records, including inputting data into the organisation’s database.
- Attend and contribute to the internal Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Working Group.
- Carry out other duties appropriate to the role as required.

Location & Travel
This is a home-based role located within the Devon or Cornwall region. The post requires frequent travel throughout the region, and candidates must have access to their own vehicle. All reasonable travel expenses will be reimbursed.

The role
Contract: Permanent - ASAP
Location: Remote
Hours: Full time (Icebreaker One works a four-day week, Mon-Thurs)
Rate: Circa £28k
Core Responsibilities
-
Support the Account Manager in maintaining and progressing a pipeline of stakeholder and client relationships, ensuring consistent and timely communication
-
Attend client and partner meetings alongside (or on behalf of) the Account Manager; take live notes, capture actions and send clear follow-up summaries to stakeholders
-
Track delivery of all agreed actions with the Account Manager, flagging delays or issues proactively
-
Maintain and update IB1's CRM (Capsule) with accurate pipeline data, contact records, contract timelines and renewal deadlines and using it to prepare and update metrics as directed
-
Conduct research into prospective partners, sector organisations and funding opportunities across priority sectors to develop the sales pipeline development

Support the preparation of proposals, pitch materials, statements of work and contract documentation
-
Support community engagement, assisting in developing relationships, and other engagements
-
Assist in coordinating IB1's stakeholder engagement activities - including AGMs, webinars, roundtable events and community forums - in collaboration with the Membership and Communications teams

Help map and maintain IB1's stakeholder landscape across priority sectors, identifying gaps, opportunities and relevant networks

Socialise the IB1 Constellation among teams within strategic partner organisations, supporting wider awareness and participation in IB1's expert network
Supporting responsibilities

Maintain and improve Standard Operating Procedures for stakeholder outreach, meeting management and pipeline administration

Generate regular reports and pipeline summaries for the Account Manager and senior team

Use insight from ongoing stakeholder engagement to feed back into and improve internal account management processes and documents

Attend daily standups, Show & Tells and standing team meetings; contribute to a collaborative, open working culture

Inputting and supporting into Bids & Grants where requested including but not limited to:

Communicate potential bid opportunities with IB1 bids team

Knowledge, Skills, Experience
Demonstrable experience of:

A minimum of 2 years demonstrable experience in a similar role

Event & Engagement Coordinator
Remote based in North West England. Please note, the role requires working one day a week in Manchester.
Fixed term contract: initially 12 months with potential to extend.
Job Purpose:
To plan, coordinate, and deliver a range of local events across North West England, ensuring each event is well-organised, inclusive, and engaging for local communities. The Local Event Coordinator will collaborate closely with partners, local authorities, suppliers, volunteers, and members to deliver high-quality, unique and memorable experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and manage logistics for a variety of local member events, making sure all events are accessible and attractive to both existing and potential members.
- Liaise with relevant external and internal contacts such as venues, suppliers, CSSC’s ticketing platform, Head Office departments, and volunteers.
- Complete all relevant compliance work such as risk assessments and public liability checks.
- Develop and manage event budgets, ensuring value for money and accurate financial tracking.
- Promote events via social media, email campaigns, posters, and local press in collaboration with marketing teams.
- Manage and grow the North West’s CSSC TikTok presence, including content planning, filming, editing, posting, and community engagement.
- Demonstrate strong working knowledge of TikTok trends, algorithms, analytics, and best practices.
- Create engaging, on-brand short-form video content tailored to target audiences.
- Monitor performance metrics and use insights to optimise content strategy and increase reach and engagement.
- Stay up to date with emerging social media trends, tools, and platform updates.
- Show a genuine interest in communications, digital marketing, and social media strategy.
- Oversee event setup and breakdown where applicable, managing on-site logistics and resolving any issues on the day.
- Recruit and coordinate volunteers to assist with events.
- Evaluate event success through feedback, data collection, and post-event reporting.
Key Skills & Experience:
Essential:
- Proven experience in planning and delivering events.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- Ability to manage budgets and handle multiple projects simultaneously.

- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the region.
- Ability to analyse member insights to inform event planning for CSSC members and to attract potential new members.
- Work collaboratively with the Regional Team to develop and implement strategies aimed at supporting membership growth and ensure positive member experiences.
- Build a rapport with CSSC volunteers and understand skillsets in order to correctly identify support necessary for events.
- Confident in using IT systems and ticketing platforms to effectively promote events across appropriate channels.

Desirable:
- Experience working with community groups, charities, membership organisations or not for profits.
- Knowledge of health and safety and safeguarding procedures.
