The Events and Opportunities Coordinator is responsible for the delivery of a programme of events and activities that build community and belonging among students. Events include, but are not limited to, Welcome, Wellbeing Week and end of year celebrations. You will work closely with student societies, groups, networks and key stakeholders to plan, organise, and deliver events and activities that reflect the diverse needs of students across our campuses. 

• Deliver an inclusive, engaging programme of events and activities that strengthen student belonging.
• Plan, coordinate, and evaluate events across all university campuses.
• Support and empower student-led societies and groups to deliver high-quality activities.
• Build strong relationships with internal and external partners to expand opportunities for students.

In this role, you will build and manage a portfolio of mid-to-high net worth UK donors (typically giving between £1,000 and £10,000), cultivating deep relationships and delivering income growth. This role involves strategic planning, meaningful engagement, and securing donations that fund Toybox’s vital work with children in street situations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage a portfolio of approximately 75-150 mid-to-high value donors and prospects
• Develop and deliver personalised cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship plans
• Build strong relationships through in-person meetings, calls, and written communications
• Solicit one-off and multi-year gifts, including upgrades and renewals
• Work with the wider fundraising and programme teams to create compelling funding proposals
• Use Donorfy to track supporter engagement, income, and insights

We are looking for someone with:

• Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in Individual Giving and/or Philanthropic Fundraising
• Proven ability to build lasting relationships with UK-based high-value donors
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with an engaging, confident presence
• Results-driven with a track record of securing four and five-figure gifts
• Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
• Proficient in using CRMs (e.g., Salesforce, Donorfy, Raiser’s Edge)
• Comfortable working independently and collaboratively across departments
• Passionate about making a positive social impact through charitable giving
• Knowledge of ethical fundraising standards and donor stewardship best practices
• Experience working with philanthropic advisors, family foundations, or legacy donors

Action for Refugees in Lewisham (AFRIL) are recruiting for an Expert by Experience Coordinator to join our supportive and growing team. The Expert by Experience Coordinator is a new role in our small dynamic charity. The postholder will work to ensure the voices and perspectives of individuals with lived experience of asylum and forced migration are integrated into the design and delivery of AFRIL services and policy work. This role involves facilitating communication, promoting co-production, and empowering individuals to share their expertise to improve services and guide policy priorities. 

The post involves coordinating our monthly Members Forum, and working with the core team to feed this into policy and service development, alongside thematic and sometimes practical support to our Allotment Steering Group, Rainbow Club Youth Council and Asylum Hotel Residents Forum. The postholder will develop the AFRIL ambassadors scheme, creating opportunities for former clients to continue to be involved in shaping AFRIL, and work with the Director to develop a governance level co-production structure as agreed with the Board of Trustees. 

We are looking for a good people person, able to engage and inspire others, who demonstrates a collaborative approach to working with a range of stakeholders and in particular AFRIL clients who come from a variety of backgrounds. The postholder will be highly organised, have good project planning and execution skills, and a good working knowledge of the issues affecting refugees and asylum seekers in the UK. Pre-Action Protocol letters to challenge unlawful public law decisions. The service currently provides Level 1 immigration advice under the Immigration Advice Agency.

• Destitution Support - a fortnightly Food Bank in partnership with St Peter’s Church providing food, food vouchers, toiletries, and other essentials, alongside a warm hub with free cafe, information and support. Small grants for essential items and cash payments for food in emergencies. Securing and distributing gifts in kind, e.g. winter coats, laptops and data. 

• Allotment of Refuge - a welcoming community of food growers that supports improved health, wellbeing and integration of members, whilst protecting the local environment. 

• Immigration Project in partnership with Southwark Law Centre, providing free legal advice and representation to support people to regularise their immigration status.

We also coordinate the Democracy Classroom network, a partnership between over 100 civil society organisations that supports young people to engage in elections. 

ABOUT THE ROLE

Working with schools, sixth forms and further education colleges, the Head of Education and Content will support them to prepare for the lowering of the voting age to 16 and to engage their students in elections and democratic education.

The post holder will design and adapt resources, practitioner training, events and activities as well as manage relationships with a variety of stakeholders across the further education and civil society sectors.

Working with the Director and the Head of Programmes, the post holder will:

• Collate, source and design learning resources for school and college teachers to use to support their students to engage in elections and democracy.

• Support, build and manage relationships with schools and colleges.

• Provide teachers and practitioners with training and e-learning around election and democratic education.

• Oversee evaluation and monitoring, producing reports where required. 

The job is based on a 16-month contract, with likely extension (including a 6-month probation period). 

The Politics Project is based in London, and the post holder will be expected to work from the office at least two days a week. The hours of work are 37.5 hrs per week. Occasional travel to elsewhere in the UK and working unsocial hours in evenings and at weekends may be required. This is a fast-paced role in a small but growing team.

Black Thrive Global (BTG) works to address the inequalities that negatively impact the mental health and wellbeing of Black communities. We embed race equity in systems change and co-create solutions alongside communities. 

Just Like Us (JLU) is the UK’s LGBT+ young people’s charity, empowering 18–25-year-olds to share their experiences in schools and improve LGBT+ inclusion through peer-led talks and ambassador programmes. 

This joint role represents an exciting partnership between two organisations committed to racial justice, LGBTQ+ inclusion and systemic transformation. 

1. Just Like Us (3.5 days/week): To support the delivery of Just Like Us’ Ambassador and School Talks programmes – including recruitment, training and coordination of young LGBT+ volunteers and engaging with schools to foster inclusive environments. 

2.  Black Queer & Thriving: There is potential for this role to expand in scope (up to 1.5 additional days per week), subject to funding. Rape Crisis South London (RCSL) is seeking a skilled, passionate, and professional Advocacy Manager to join our team and lead our ISVA and Casework department. 
 

As Advocacy Manager (maternity cover), you will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of high-quality support services for survivors of sexual violence, particularly those engaging with or considering engagement with the criminal justice system. You will manage a team of ISVAs (Independent Sexual Violence Advocates), Caseworkers, and our Advocacy Operations Administrator, ensuring excellence in recruitment, induction, and training.
 

Reporting to the Director of Programmes, you will play a key leadership role within our organisation, working collaboratively with colleagues across our frontline services and our training and prevention teams.
 

What We are Looking For: 
 

• A proven track record in people management and supporting survivors of sexual violence
• Experience working within the violence against women and girls (VAWG) sector
• A creative and collaborative approach to service development and evaluation

Whilst the North-East is an amazing place to live, there are still challenges, with large disparities between Gateshead’s wealthier and poorer areas, and 23,600 people live in areas described as having deep deprivation. With this comes all the associated issues that poverty causes, including 1 in 4 children growing up in poverty and one of the worst levels of social mobility in the country.

The important stuff 

Salary: £27,000, pro rata

Hours: 9.00am – 5.00pm, Monday –Thursday, Part-time (with some flexibility and occasional evening or weekend work for events such as Spear Celebrations)

Contract: Maternity Cover; September Start

Key Responsibilities

Oversight of the Spear Programme

• As a confident communicator, you will lead group sessions of around 10 young people each, using coaching skills to transform attitudes to their own ability and the workplace, and to raise their awareness and maximise potential in stepping into the world of work
• Prepare and coach group and 1-1 sessions with the Spear Coach
• Ensure the programme is delivered in line with agreed targets, and report KPIs on recruitment, retention and completion of Spear Trainees to Resurgo and the Spear Trust, as well as their ongoing progress and sustainment of work or education

Partnership liaison and relationship management

• Establish the primary local referral agencies and steward relationships with these, overseeing and building a strategy to ensure recruitment of young people onto the Spear programme is effective
• Maintain and develop relationships with local partners to form a strong referral network

Line Management and training

• Manage the Spear Coach, using a coaching approach to invest in their growth and development
• Be line managed by Resurgo on Spear Programme performance and ongoing operations of the centre, and report back on KPIs

Church Community

• The Spear Centre Manager is directly employed by Alive Church, meaning you are part of a vibrant church staff team and submerged in an exciting faith community
• You will be required to establish strong relationships with key people at the church to ensure the engagement and backing of church members and help the Spear Coach to establish a strong presence at the church to build a network of supporters for the Spear programme
• Ensure the Spear programme is a key missional feature of the work of the church; this may involve attending church events and speaking at services

Site management 

• Work with the Church to coordinate the training room and any infrastructure needs for the Spear Centre
• Liaise with relevant staff locally on-site issues and work to resolve them as soon as possible, ensuring the office and training room are safe and tidy working spaces in line with health and safety policies

An exceptional opportunity to work with a passionate volunteer-led organisation and help shape the future of a remarkable industrial heritage site. Kempton Steam Museum, operated by Kempton Great Engines Trust, is home to the world's largest operational triple-expansion steam engine, which supplied water to much of London until 1980. Our project, Kempton: Clean Water for Life - reaching a wider audience, is made possible with The National Lottery Heritage Fund. Thanks to National Lottery players, we aim to transform Kempton Steam Museum’s engagement with visitors and the local community, while enhancing support for volunteers and care of collections. Three new part-time staff roles are being created to focus on volunteering, collections and managing the project.

The part-time Museum Operations and Project Manager will manage day-to-day operations and oversee delivery of the project initiatives. We will also be recruiting a Curatorial Officer (one day per week) and a Volunteer Coordinator (two days per week).

The key responsibilities of the Museum Operations and Project Manager include overseeing daily operations in particular to build capacity, in collaboration with the Operations Committee, and developing operational policies and procedures; planning, executing and monitoring all aspects of the Heritage Fund project; line managing the Volunteer Coordinator and fostering a positive and collaborative working environment between staff and volunteers; line managing the Curatorial Assistant to ensure that collections are looked after and documented in line with best practice; working with the Curatorial Assistant and trustees to achieve Accreditation by August 2026; and managing the external consultants who will be carrying out audience development work and developing learning materials.
